Ok, now you guys say this won't proc until lvl 25. Now, my dumb question is, does that mean it won't proc until my character is at level 25 or until my skill level is at 25? Thanks.

I think that its odd that these mid-level weapons are dropped by such higher end critters. In my opinion, us higher characters should be nice and give these weapons to newer players, or at the least sell them...

Its an old old argument. A good example is the gnoll slayer. You get it in a lvl 5 - 15 zone, can't be quested until 25-30, which, by then is almost useless. Why would a lvl 30 want a 6/28 sword? Yeah, yeah, I know about the bane, but still...
Actually the gnollslayer can be upgraded and gets an effect of summon companion. Also the gnolls in BB are not the only ones there are also the ones in Splitpaw, Jaggedpine and Highpass.

Got the Gnoll Slayer (intermed) and in order to get the 'Final' you have to go through Splitpaw and need a decent lvl group in order to survive where you have to go to get the named NPCs to complete the quest. I was in there with the Club of Gnoll bashing and the Gnoll Slayer in my dual-wielding Ranger hands and the bottom line is this.....unless you plan on killing the Darkpaw in JP, save your energy for more rewarding quests. The bane is nice, but I do as well or better with my Venemous Axe of the Velium Brood and Centi SS. Saving grace may be that they are fairly quick so I have used them simultaneously to bring up 1HS and 1HB (swapping prim/sec slots depending which needs more work to cap).

Why dont we all just send a feedback to Verant, kindly asking them to lower the proc lvl to 15? Considering how a whip of strangulation can give you 12points dd, debuff your oponnets str and agi, and do 60 more points of dot at lvl 10. I can almost guarendamtee you that the only reason the proc is so high is because It's a velious weapon (and a pretty sucky one at that). Yeah sure it's good for making a few plat selling to people in EC, but this weapon, like the gnoll hide lariat, should proc at a MUCH lower lvl. Hey, we can make a difference here, so send your feedbacks in okay? /feedback

Mine only has a Leech like spell that takes 5 points from what I am fighting and gives it to me. This not good, hope this weapon does more damage when I make higher levels.

Ok, here's the deal. If you BUY one of these from the VENDOR in Thurgadin, it is 7/28, betterthan 6/28, and it WILL PROC AT ANY LEVEL,PERIOD.
If you get the weapon as a DROP off of a mob, it is 6/28 and WILL NOT proc til lvl 25, not 24, end of discussion.
IF you want one to proc at low levels, have a hi lvl buy you one at Thurgadin Vendor, he is near the "puppy pen", also as stated stats on one that will proc at any level is 7/28, so if you try to buy one from anybody, even if they tell you it will proc before 25 and its stats are 6/28, it wont, i repeat will not, can not, aint gonna proc before lvl 25, it is a "drop" version.
I hope this is all cleared up now, sheesh.

If i remember correctly they ones bought in Thurgardin are Coldain Velium *** rather than just Velium ***. And as mentioned have a slightly better dmg/dly ration and start Proc'ing at lvl 1.

Each of the two weapons got a chance to proc. So yeah, you might get a double proc at once if your lucky.

I have this sword and also a Short Sword version, I love them, Fine steel speed with the capability to damage magic only mobs. The proc message keeps popping and I can't wait till level 25 when I can use the Proc seems to go off alot.

Come on people obvisly YOU NEED TO BE LVL 25 TO get this thing to proc and you DON'T need velious to get it to proc either. their we are now plz i was reading all of this stuff and it's really repeadative so plz stop saying or should i say *Whining* about not being able to get this damned wpn to proc.

This weapon will NOT proc until Level 25. It will NOT matter if you have full mana or not.. that has nothing to do with the mechanics of proc'ing a weapon. Again, you do NOT need Velious to have this weapon or to have it proc.

Get this, I was at my brothers house and some guy gave him this... He had only been playing the gamef or like.. .5 hours and was level 3. The magic WORKED for him at level 3. I have a war hammer that is velium and the char it is on is level 5 and it will not work. my brothers char is a high elf pally and my level 5 is a dwarven cleric. the only reason i can think of that it worked is that he had HIGH level buffs on him. but that doesn't make sense. (i'll call him now and ask ;P) ahhh, he doesn't know ;P he's been playing eq for 2 days... i'll have to go and look at it for myself. hope that helped some...

I'm a lvl 5 Bard and I'm using this sword (it is a gift from a very nice unknow Paladin). I don't have Velious expansion.

It's effect can only be used once you reach a certain age. The level you have to be is apparently being debated in the posts below. I do not know for fact of what lvl, but I would think that it would be a lot higher than lvl 5.
Also it is "velious required" again I am assuming that since you are allowed to have one and not have the expansion, that's only where it drops. Maybe it has a connection with the weapons ability to proc, but I doubt it.
I know, only more questions.

The reports of the proc level being 25 may indeed be true. I have a 22 level ranger with the Velious Expansion and it still does not proc for me yet.

my WIS,CHR,or INT that it mite work?

I have a 13lvl ranger who can not proc this weapon (your will is not strong enough...blah blah) i have asked in every zone i've been in (I play on Brell) and have been told many times that it procs at lvl 24. I guess i can only hope to find out, it sure would be nice to duel weild two of these if they would proc....ahhwell.

I believe you have to buy the velious expansion for it to proc, since the spell, velium shard is included with the new expansion. I have one with my druid, and he is 10th and no proc, but I dnt have the expansion yet. When I buy it I will repost to tell you if it procs

The sword procs at level 25. How do I know? I saw the message at level 24, dinged 25 last night and lo and behold, it procs! Whee. Also you don't have to have velious to get it to proc... I don't have it and it works fine and dandy for me.

I have been told by someone using this in his offhand that the one that the merchant sells in Thurdardin is 7/28, and the one dropped by the mobs is 6/28. I willl find out 2nite... I have also been told that the proc goes off for all levels, but I am not sure if this is on all Velium weapons, or on specific ones. I am using a Velium Great Staff on my level 9 druid, and it procs very often. I have never gotten that "your will..." message.
