The Water Crystal Staff is a good Enchanter item, because at lower lvl's u can practice your 1HB skill for later on. Enchanter epic is 1HB, so u want to get it up, and at higher lvls, u stay back like a wizardand just debuff, buff, and crowd control. Only mele thing when it runs or about to die.
P.S. A guildie recently gave me a Rod of Indidious Glamour which is 1HB, but is slow, but doesn't matter. It has 15Cha! This i will probably keep till Epic.

I had this staff at one time when i was first playing EQ. Someone i was grouping with just gave it to me, hmm... well it was very nice to have and was what i used for a while until i cuold buy a more expensive primary slot item.

my necro got one of a really nice caster for free! very useful when you are about to die and that proc takes the last little bit of health(he is only lvl 7 )=)

My chanter just uses a giant snake fang. The amount of damage I do with it, since it has much lower delay more than makes up for the lack of a proc. But this does look kind of neat, so I guess you could keep it around for when you walk through a city. Personally, my next weapon upgrade will be to a crystal grinder (a 9dmg 27dly piercer) that not only blows this away on its ratio, it adds 2 ac as well. These are dropping in price pretty quickly, and I've seen several grinders auctioned for 100pp or less.
the proc on this is a level 1 chanter spell, Shallow Breath, which hits for upto 5 hp dd, and 3 hp a tick for 3 or 4 ticks i believe. it's also an AGI, STR and(mayhaps) a AC debuffer
But i concur with previous posts: of the four elemental staffs availible, this has to be the least in terms of the damage it's proc does. Get an ice crystal or a fire crystal staff.

I tried making the capsules, and got nothing but "cannot combine". So, either it's a hoax, or the recipe is lost.

I recently have recently acquired this item, and it's Proc level is lower than 8....and procs a 5dmg DoT, that lasts about 2-3 ticks

The proc on this weapon does not stack with either heat blood, or heart flutter (not sure which it is, I didn't keep it long enough to determine exactly which it was)... this renders the effect useless because it will never take hold until your dot runs it's course. So don't go wasting your plat on this if you are a necro and plan on getting in a few hits. Any of the other crystal staves will probably work just fine... this one is just the most available on my server.

Along with that I would just reckomend you save up a lil more money and buy the Fire Crystal Staff which procs a spell for about 11 to 16 dmg.
