Why waste money on oiled greaves?
# Oct 16 2002 at 4:55 AM Rating: Decent
I just bought a pair of these for 1200...a great deal IMO...oiled greaves are usually 10-15K...these have only 5 less ac...and 3 less str...but have 10 more hp...and for 9-14K less, a major bargain unless you have pp to burn...which I do not. Not to mention that they weigh 1 stone less.

'Farmer' is not a four letter word...
# Apr 19 2002 at 12:11 PM Rating: Default
Hey there folks - 'Farmer' isn't a bad word. I think everyone uses products and items that Druids and Necro's and any other farmers grab up while they are out leveling. I mean, did it ever occur to you that farming just happens when you grab 4 mobs, quad kite them - then realize 'wow - there was a light blue named guy in there - wonder what he drops...' (says the 55th level druid in Scarlet or TS...) It is just a bi-product of that style of killing, you end up with a couple back packs full of quest items, and yes... they sell for some cash.

Support your local farmers!!
Hahah

#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 29 2002 at 7:15 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) i really don't think this armor is the best armor for some of the mobs u gotta kill. the legs require killing some named mobs in scarlet( as i'v heard), ancient sun thingies, and so on. all this for a pair of legs that aren't THAT good

You guys forgot the best dropable monk pants in the game... Flayed Barbarian Skin Leggings 60ac 10str 10sta 10dex 10agi 100hp Go nutz. They drop common off Avatar of War in Kael Drakkel, just get about 4-6 groups of 60+ and have the few people lower than 60. Bam so easy. And if your the only monk there CONGRATULATIONS! Oh yea and ive had 2 drop before.

Bah those are caster pants all the way and wasteing them on a monk is just that a waste sell them and buy some nice stats pants for a monk cause monks arent tanks they are dmg dealers... well at least they arent supposed to be tanks =p

You forgot typical monk pants from dalnir that should be listed in your comparison.

Crescented Leggins: AC: +3 Str: +5 Agi: +5 Fire Resist: +2

From what I see from above, these appear to be the 3rd best to me (1st being Black Pantherskin Leggins, second being Acrylia Reinforced Leggins), and they can easily be obtained by someone level 45+ solo (given he has good equip) or even 40+ (given he has exceptional equip) or 35+, given he has a group/partner.

What does it drop off of? What mob? Is it foraged? Is it a ground spawn? We are getting close to actually providing useful info here that isn't completely vague and cryptic, lets go all the way.

This would tie up all the loose ends, as opposed to the irrelevant discussion about druid farmers and some guy who bought a jar of ointment and completed the quest, and then thought enough of it to post repeatedly here about it, but apparently didn't ask this entrepreneurial druid where the hell he got the damn ointment from. Its all in the details kids.

#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 03 2002 at 5:04 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Considering how much useful information you provided in this post, I dont think you ahve any right to assume we are all 10 year old kids playing our dads monk instead of the necro we named after our favorite pokemon. Seriously dude lighten up, the guy bought it from a druid who farmed it. He cannot tell you where the druid got it, and considering he just got the last piece for a quest he would be the first one to solve, he was probly way to excited to care. get off our backs a little and do a little in-game research instead of flaming poor folks on message boards.
About farming
# Dec 26 2001 at 3:31 PM Rating: Default
Ummm, just a thought. How can everyone be farming when nobody know for sure which mob drops the pieces for their quest?? It's simply a search to find quest items, if they are not yours are you supposed to destroy them so you aren't considered a farmer? I don't think so.

#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 24 2001 at 1:25 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Bleh, druids are farming bishes and everyone knows it, they are a dime a dozen and i particularly loathe 99% of them.
#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 26 2001 at 3:31 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You are a moron and should no longer be allowed to speak. You have merely joined the masses in putting down druids because they are common. Yes, you are stupid but that does not give you the right to go around shouting an oppinion you heard in EC in the OOC channel. To make a blanket comment about any class like that makes me think you are a waste of time, and obviously you know nothing about druids....
#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 28 2001 at 2:23 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I refuse to get in on this fight but i would like to say that quite alot of druids are simply ways for people to get money to twink out their warrior or rogue. I KNOW u see druids with AUC buttons that say " Porting to WC, TOX, SK, BB, send tells." I'm not dissing druids but quite a few people use them as money sources, and could care less about how well they work in a group... all they want is money. Same thing with necro's and wizzy's. Heck i did it myself... it's a fact, dont deny it.

Raises hand slowly

yeah I did that. I made several chars and non of them would do that good on there own. First char was a high elf pally. Not a good choice slow lvling and my best weapon tranished long sword at lvl 10. Basicly I sucked. Made tons of chars non where as fun as my druid. Made him to solo and make money for my other chars. I started the game about 6 months ago wasted 2 months making all sorts of char. Now I don't even have a alt above lvl 10. I only play my druid and not for money. I got a group of friends and they all need ports and we have no duplicate chars. I like my druid and play him all the time. But I did make him for cash. I don't see how to farm. My mana pool sucks. Takes to much mana to get to the farming spot. Although I'm only lvl 38 and have 168wis.

How does this armor compare to Velious and other Tailored Monk armor?

And as a Druid, I resent the "Farmer" remark.. Most Farming char's I see are Necro's. Harumph :)

Where do you see necros farming? As a level 55 Necro, I can farm about level 30ish equipment (old world). I can and have solod the frenzy since 50 (refering to the post below), but that was exp too,,is that farming? I can kill sea chests and wyverns in CS (hoping for a quest stone) repeat as necessary, but I usually cant find any wyverns because the druids and/or Wizzies are quad kiting them. That too is exp.

IMHO, the ecomomy on my server has gotten to the point where farming does not make sense. The things that used to make 1-2K pp are now vendor items, twink gifts, or backpack slot fillers. Like forest loops...1k 9months ago, now a vendor item (auctioned in EC for 3 days at 200pp, no buyers).

If you are seeing necros farming, lemme know where, i am broke and could use the loot =)

Just another DENecro

I am curious why you would auction a forest loop at 200p when you could sell one to a vendor for around 280p with a little charisma and faction.. If you are able, get a pair of Opal encrusted steins (2 will give you 50 more charisma) and check what merchants will offer you for items. Also, always check a few different merchants whith whom you have good faction.. some merchants offer much better deals than others. hope this helps a bit.

Cloud Jewel - Scarlet Desert - any special named mob
Mark of Meditation - Tenebous Mountinats of Grol Baku Mediator
Jar of Ointment - purchased from a druid farmer. LOL

I was very happy to have completed this quest and discarded my old Wu's pants for these.
These are a little heavier but well worth ther extra AC and other stats.

Had to rate this post excellent. Had almost all the information you possibly ask for.
RE: Items
# Dec 21 2001 at 12:11 PM Rating: Default
I went back and rated it good, because it is a good post. However, it wasn't necessary to call the druid that provided him with one of the items a farmer. All the quest items are droppable. Taken with the large number of items to be found and the difficulty of obtaining the particular items for individual armor pieces, I'd say it's pretty clear that trading in these quest items is an intended part of the quest.

And on that note, my druid has only managed to "farm" one of the quest items for his class, but has items for most other classes that have been picked up along the way. If any of you that play some other class have managed to "farm" some of the druid drops on Povar, send a tell to my druid (Chronomis) and perhaps we can arrange a swap.

RE: Items
# Dec 26 2001 at 10:04 AM Rating: Decent
I would just like to say that the druid i purchased the jar from was a self admitted farmer for these quest items in order to see if any of this new equipment was good. there is no need to Assume that "farmer" is a bad thing. I have collected quest items for almost every class and am i willing to make trades or sales, is that a farmer ? your opinion, to some, yes, to others no.

i think it's pretty sad when people just Assume that everything is ment in a negative way.
#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 21 2001 at 4:45 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) i went back and rated both of your posts awful because well, they suck:)
