#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 25 2003 at 7:42 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Man, I wonder why they go for 100-250pp... That seems cheap for some reason. I know that it could also be servers. But I mean I would say at least 500pp for every server... Call me Crazy but this is a good item for a lvl 40-45 mob. That is the lvls where good loot comes into play but DANG. 35hp 35mana. Seems like some casters would be willing to pay at least 500pp for these
Great chest peice

Got this one on my dark elf chanter - with a pair of trak leggings, she's got this great leather/********** look to her - great for getting folks who are just browsing to come on over to her in the bazaar.

The hitpoints, AC and mana definately work wonders at the lower levels - I'm still wearing this at 22 and probobly will for some time - INT won't really help you for anything but tradeskills till post 30th.

Best part about these is that they run for under 100plat in the bazaar because everyone thinks they need INT.

heh, youglings. I'm here to tell ya that this tunic is AWESOME at higher levels. It is not just a twink item. When you get beyond level 40, and you start to discover that you can get items with 10-20 INT on your EARS, you start to appreciate the value of +MANA and +HP items, as your int quickly maxes out, no matter what your starting int is. As a higher level wizard, I tend to focus on HP, AC, and MANA. I have actually stood up to Naggy in my current gear and lasted about 45 seconds with no heals (MT died and naggy went after the person who had the most aggro... never mind that wizzy throwing 200+ dps ;oP )

Your a rong, enchanter do need INT for the mana, the more INT you have the more mana you have.

Just thought i would say that

Where did you get trak leggings? I did a search, and only warriors and such can wear the only ones I found. Can you give me the correct name, or a link? I am trying to finish out my outfit. I have the chest piece.

Thanks

Damn this thing isn't druid usable? too bad, cause a female wizard showed it off to me and she was so hot. hehe, was planning to get it for my druid friend but oh well. Win some, lose some, :P
washed out

i have worn this on my HIE chanty up to lvl 39, i loved the look it gave me a washed out herion addict look when all the other casters looked like they should be washing your hair for you. it breaks my heart to let it go but even worse,i wear the dress now 8(
It's not worth 2k!

I've been trying to sell this item for over a week. I've had no luck. I've ranged the price from 250pp to 500pp based on the price information given at this web site. Nobody wants it. It was a great deal for 30pp off of the Shady vender. The stats are nice, but it does have the n00b skin which looks lame. Any way it's wearable by pure casters which is a good bonus, but not priest classes. Actually, the only classes that have inquired about the item when auctioned were druids and shamans.

They go for..
# Mar 07 2003 at 10:11 AM Rating: Decent
On Quellious and Terris Thule I see them all the time for 20-50 pp each. Notice that this is in bazaar, post PoP.

That being said, I have one that I switch between my new chars, they wear them until 20-25 usually, until I switch to nicer Int gear with resists. A good replacement for this is the Froglok Bonecaster's Robe, which can be had for about 2k usually - sometimes up to 4.
Interesting...

Seems to me that the Shady Swashbuckler can come up with some damn good deals. I bought this from him for 25 plat. Was thinking on twinking a new necro I was thinking about. Surprised to see what some people are willing to offer for this. It is a great item for casters, damn good ac, mana and HP adds are sweet as well. Granted, it dont have saves or any other stat buffs, but hey! Thats what the other slots are for right? Chose and make up yer own set of gear you come across that you think will work for you. I always run by and check on those venders in the EC Tunnel Mart and the occasional guy who has bags of stuf to sell. You never know and be pleasently surprised at what ye may find. I like that aspect, seing new stuf, how much they go for, and maybe getting a good deal on gear. Sometimes it sure beats trying to wiggle yer way into a camp for it, saves a lot of time!

Great Caster Item
# Nov 22 2001 at 12:55 PM Rating: Good
I think that it is a great item, even for Int Caster. Why ? well, even at mid-hi level, 1 Int point give you 7mana pts. 1 Sta point dont even give you so much HP (1 for 4 ?). And few robes give you so much AC.

So i think, nowaday, tat this armor is under coted. IMO it is more valuable than a lot of robes. and leather look is nice too :)

At final, what need a caster ? Mana, HP, and resists. Way to obtain mana (Int or Mana pure) is secondary :)
RE: Great Caster Item
# Feb 21 2002 at 12:03 PM Rating: Default
At mid-levels one would probably have a robe with a combination of INT and direct mana. Advisor Robe (8ac 5int 20mana 5svMagic) provides a larger mana pool once you get 4 or more mana from a point of INT, though it lacks the AC and HPs.

But for a newbie caster who doesn't get much mana from INT yet, this rocks. And the HPs alone will just about double the total HPs of a level one character.
RE: Great Caster Item
# Apr 25 2002 at 12:37 PM Rating: Good
This robe has +6 AC +35 HP +15 more direct mana. Gives up 5 int and 5 svMagic.

I would take this one over the Advisor robe, even if I had a 200 int.

not worth much
# Aug 30 2001 at 7:52 PM Rating: Good
It sells on The Tribunal for 200-400pp. Its nice for a caster with 200 INT but a robe is one of the best stat items for a caster too so its hard to find a buyer.
#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 14 2001 at 1:52 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) well, pure caster race can't wear leather armor, so a newbie only wear cloth or nuke , not this.
RE: not worth much
# Feb 21 2002 at 11:50 AM Rating: Decent
Look at the classes that can use this rather than running yer mouth as if you know what you are talkin about: NEC WIZ MAG ENC can all use this, and all races too.

This is an excellent newbie caster tunic. Direct HPs and direct mana rule for caster twinks.
RE: not worth much

RE: not worth much
# Jul 12 2002 at 7:37 AM Rating: Decent
Actually, I like the leather look to it for my enchanter! When I'm in illusion form, those races that don't have robes make you look even more like a newbie. Plus, if I take the Steins out of my hands and equip a dagger, I look like a rogue :)

gossamer armor, drops off the festering hags in Unrest, or Dark muslin armor, drops somewhere in Runnyeye.

Traded a Brown Chitin Protector my druid had outgrown for this little gem. I think it looks very good on my Erudite Wizzie, and with as much INT as he had base, I'm gonna leave it on him. He don't look like a Mama's boy, he he, and the AC is excellent.

#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 07 2001 at 2:03 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) One of these dropped last night when we killed Shardtooth. This is a decent druid item. It makes no sense at all that they cant use. It seems like a vicious joke: the only class that would really use the item cant. What is the point? No I am not a druid.
#Anonymous, Posted: May 10 2001 at 2:01 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You loose spell effects when you die while zoning. This will typically happen
RE: Re: why you lose spell effects on zoning

Actually, when this happens is when you zone with fewer hitpoints than the hitpoints added by your armor. So in effect you do die because the armor hp drop off at zone then come back on the other side.

Lets say you have on 2 55hp rings. you zone with sow and 25hp. Upon entering the zone the ring hp drop taking your hp to zero, in effect killing you and taking away your buffs, yet when you zone in, the rings take effect again giving you 110 hp instead of 25 hp when you get to the other side and you nolonger have sow.

It is a pretty good trade off unless you are one of those melee types who wait way too long to zone and dont have the ability to rebuff because you had that very nice shaman mojo all over you, but she is now long gone and you are back to dukeing it out with your normal bad self.

Great for Mid Level Mage
# May 01 2001 at 4:30 PM Rating: Decent
I just bought this robe for 400PP. As a level 24 Mage it was nearly impossible to find anything in a reasonable price range that was even worth buying. The big plus is this gets me out of those ugly dresses. Im tired of looking like a bad drag queen. The look is very cool. On top of the +35 mana, I get +35 HP, which at my level translates to a little extra time to run like heck, not to mention the AC 14. This is great for mid level mages!
#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 07 2001 at 9:36 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I have found that when I zone with less than 100hp and like poison diseas or any spell effects at all, after I zone I have 100 hp and all spell effects are gone. This only happends when wearing this piece of equipment.
RE: something new
# Apr 13 2001 at 2:08 PM Rating: Default
I have noticed that when im wearing this and i have 5hp and im poisoned, and diseased i get an awsome spell called "teleport to bind location".
Actually, i have noticed that when i have less than 100hp and am poisoned and diseased, when i zone my str goes +40 and my hp goes +220 and my ac +120 and my mana goes FULL. - lies.

Actually smartass, a month or so ago I went through a phase where all my negative spells effects (poison/disease) would be removed upon zoning. Fighting gnolls in Lake Rathe my poison and disease spells that the shaman had hit me with would dissappear when I zoned, likewise with Drahcnid poison when zoning from FV.
I assumed it was a friendly bug. I haven't noticed it since so I assume its been fixed.
So dont accuse people of lying when you dont have all the facts yourself. He merely jumped to the wrong conclusion.
Correct information
# May 10 2001 at 11:22 AM Rating: Default
Actually, the way this "bug" seems to work is :
When you zone with few hit points, been beaten up by some mobs, you sometimes lose ALL the spell effects there were on you. Good (buffs) and bad ones (poisons & diseases) alike. It happened a lot with me some weeks ago, zoning out of Crushbone with legos on me and less than 20% health. The same thing occured 2 times in HPH with orcs.
WHY no Druids??

WHY THE HECK are druid taken out of this, this is leather we wear leather for a dang long time why not this??
#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 30 2001 at 12:26 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Why do druids complaign about every item that they can't use. There are items that every class can't use for game balance reasons. Sit down and be quite, Youe class is already the most pampwered in the game.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 06 2001 at 3:31 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, game balance. You think that game is balanced? Start playing a ranger, we actually have to spend time farming equipment in our mid levels so we have enough money to buy equipment that makes us half as good as any other class. And now especially on rallos zek(where i play my 43 ranger and hunt down pks then leave cause i am starting to dislike the game), resist debuffs doing 150%, what do verants pk's have a hard time killing melee's or something? That so unbalanced it once again as we were all finally getting good very good resist equipment to put us over 100 in every stat instead of 200mr, 150fr, 150cr, 40pr, 40dr, or something like that. Don't even start talking about balancing, verant is the worst at that. You can tell the head guys just wanted to play a necro and druid.

Rangers can solo pretty well actually, you just gotta stick to animals. In fact you're the only hybrid that can solo effectively, all the way to 50 if you want. I know people who have. No, you can't solo nearly as easily as a Druid or Necro, but still easier than most other classes.

way over priced, get a crystal covered shroud instead
# Mar 02 2001 at 4:28 AM Rating: Default
better get a crystal covered shroud.. looks better, also better momey ratio, it sells for 1kpp now as Crystal Caverns is farmed night and day and even lvl 35 people can solo the top orcs and get a herbalist to spawn there!!....

4kpp for this is too expensive.. if I wanted it I would not pay more then 350pp for it...
Great for casters
# Feb 15 2001 at 12:04 PM Rating: Decent
This is fabulous for casters with 200 Int from items other than the chest slot. Lets them look like Leahter armor wearers, and is great AC and + Hits and mana.

I got a buddy who is a 50 Wiz and he picked up one of these after he got Fruity Boots to push his Int to 206. He dropped his old robe and got this and still has a 201 Int and now better ac hits and mana still.
#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 08 2001 at 1:44 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Ok one Question there is a ton of armor in Velious right so Druids so far can wear i think 3!! this is like leather and Druids wear leather. Why doesin't varent add some quest in POG for some Good Druid armor and maybie to be fair also ranger armor too.

At level 12, Fen, I was after wis items too, but with the 2 expansions getting 200wis is almost a joke. Once you reach 200 wis, you too, will be on the lookout for mana and ac items vice the wis items.
