First off i would just like to say WOW i never seen so many newB's in my entire EQ life =).

Ok so im gunna help you all out~
If you see on this page a post called "The Skinny on the BP" he has it down pls read all the posts before you comment on not knowing or messing up the quest. Many people have already clarified what to do but most of you dont take the time to research and just hope someone will respond. Read pls =)

Ok here is how it works

3 MAIN factions in vellious
Dwarves (Coldain)
Giants (Kromzek Kromiff ect..)
Dragons (CoV or Claws of Veeshan faction)

All 3 factions have armor quests for all class for 8 armor spots.
Head, BP, Legs, Vambraces, (2)Bracer, Guants, boots,

Over all Dwarven armor has the least best stats out of the three. To get dwarven armo GO TO THE NPC THAT ISSUES THAT QUEST. THAT NPC WILL GIVE YOU **ALL** THE INFORMATION YOU NEED TO KNOW!
Basically you need different gems depending on the peice and its always 3 gems that must go with the peice you are using. Gems can be used from class to class there are really 3 main catagory of gems.
Preists, Melee, Pure casters
Keep in mind some of the gems are used for both of those catagory's for different armor peices.
For example Crushed flame emerald can be used for questing priest boots and or melee bracers.
priest classes are all WIS casters
Melee is all melee
Pure casters are INT casters.

So for each armor peice you need 3 gems plus a specific quest armor peice. For coldain armor you need to go to the Arena in Kael Drakkul and there you will find the quest armor you need.
Killing in Kael will result in a increase in COldain faction AND an increase in Dragon faction.

There is still a huge debate over which of these two factions quest for the best armor. Kael(Giants), or SkyShrine(dragons).

Basically it all comes down to this. Kael armor has more ac then SkyShrine armor. BUT! Skyshrine armor has on average 200-300 more stats total not counting weight. With dragon armor you will see more resists, more sta dex, agi and stats in general. So its your choice mainly between stats and or AC.

Before you go off and start preaching about how AC is Sooooo important keep a few things in mind before you choose your faction.

1. To defeat MOST (not all just most) of the highest level major mobs in the game YOU WILL REQUIRE RESISTS. What good is AC if your already dead from a 1500pt lifetap aoe that the mob castss every 5 secs? You need resist gear. Secondly Skyshrine armor in general gives more AGI STA and MUCH more HP then kael armor does. SO before you run off thinking AC is going to let you own this game, you might have alot of AC but with skyshrine armor you will have more agi so the mob has less chance of it hitting you, you will have more sta more HP so you can take more hits, and over all you will get more +hp. As for casters its a easy pic For casters skyshrine is way better then any kael armor. Especially for preist classes. Skyshrine armor for casters on avereage has 200-300 more stats then kael armor does, but meelee only has 100-200 more stats over kael.

So is AC important ? YES
Is it so important that all your armor should be focused ONLY on AC? Thats your descision, in my opinion no. Generally with ALL your stats being raised you will become a better player, as apposed to focusing only on 1 stat.

Overall unless your a priest class the choice really isnt that bad, kael armor and or SS armor is both good and is both the best armor in the game (excluding PoM armor quests which are so rediculously long its not worth it).

BUT if your a priest class it is very obvious that SS armor is fair supior over kael armor.

Ok back to how to get it

IF your on giant faction that meens your friends will be the GIANTS in KAEL DRAKKEL. Just like dwarven armor you need 3 gems plus a quest armor peice. The gems are all the same for all factions only difference is the class. Now to get the quest armor peices for kael you need to hunt in the WEST wing of Temple of Veeshan there your armor will drop. You will be KOS to all mobs in TOV so you will have to fight in.

Skyshrine fac, ok dragon lovers here is what you need.
First you need the gems like the other 2 factions and then you need your quest armor.

note: Some people will have you beleive if you folow dragon faction you will not be able to kill dragons. This is highly false
TO get the quest armor peices for skyshrine (dragon lovers)You also need to go to Temple of Veeshan BUT you must only hunt in the EAST wing (note: the quest dragon npc calls it "The Halls of Testing")
BY hunting in the EAST WING ONLY you will not loose ANY faction hits against Claws of Veeshan faction or SS faction. Also you will be NOT be kos to zone in mobs the entire south hall and the entire west hall. As for the east hall you fight in you will be KOS but loose no faction hits. IF you kill in the North Wing (hardest wing) you will loose faction hits sorry guyz (this does not meen you cannot fight in the Nwing if your guild is on dragon fac ill explain ina few dragon lovers)

a few nots to keep in mind:
There is a huge beleif that if you follow dragon fac you cannot do uber sections of ToV like NWING or kill any dragon vellious mobs. This is also false there is a term called "Juggaling your Faction". IF your guild is disciplined enough you can succesfully kill in the Nwing of TOV or kill dragons in WW or any where else in vellious (even tho you will loose faction) you can succesfully make it all back. The best way to do this is to have your raid or whatever for example have your guild clear Nwing of ToV and you will prolly be KOS by the end of the day oh well. Then you can have a few more raids in Kael Drakkel all day, (1) one you can farm dwarven aromr for the lesser ones in the guild who dont have dragon armor yet
(2) you can kill the named big giants behind the arena, Tormax, AOW, ect... there is just as much to do in Kael as there is in ToV =)

Is juggaling your guilds faction easy? hell no but it will get you everything you want. ALSO KEEP IN MIND DRAGON LOVERS the East wing ( or Halls of Testing) has its fair share of named dragons who drop loot just as incredible as the Nwing or Wing does. Were talking melee 2hs weapons with damages way higher then its delay.

OK finally What the heck is a Black marble for no one will tell me?

druids, shamans, clerics)

Crushed black marble is the melee class boot quest gem ONLY.

Chippled black marble is a cash gem sell it to vendor. ( if it even exisists i dont pay atttention to cash gems and what they are called)
