Mid-level gear and int/wis caps
# May 08 2002 at 1:18 PM Rating: Good
This gear is designed to fit in the midlevel range, 30s to 40s. This perticular bracer I would say is between the Ruin Mith Bracer (more AC, less wis) and the Sol Ro quest bracer (same AC less wis). Its unfortunate that many of the quest pieces are dropped in zones that are 40+ though.

With the add of Luclin, the int/wis cap was lifted from 200 to 250. From range of 200 to 250 you get 5mana for each point of int/wis now. After 250, its 1mana.

Not quite correct. Int/Wis scales with level. It works out at 1 mana per 5 levels, so level 5 is 1 mana per Int/Wis, and at level 50 it is 10 mana per Int/Wis.

After the cap of 200, any extra Int/Wis will give half of what you would normally get at that level (unless they've removed that penalty by the time you read this). So at level 5 any extra Int/Wis will give 0.5 mana per point, while at level 50 it will give 5 mana per point.

Easy to work out what equipment is best at what level. At low levels a cheap mana item can double your mana pool.

i say go for what you can get, if its not the best of the best then oh well, with a little research i could probably find about 10-20 bracers better than this, but getting them is another thing, i say if these are in your range and an upgrade,or just something you'd like to have, then go for it. not everyone playing this game is in a guild that raids ToV every other day, or does kael quests with abandon, i think its a very nice piece for those of us that dont have 6 figures of plat in the bank at any given day, or that dont have 3 other characters at level 60, but hey if you feel like flaming these bracers because they dont add 25 to each stat and 45 to each save then go ahead its a free country after all. hell while your at it you might as well say they suck because they dont have "flowing thought 2000"

or you could get mad because VI didnt make primal armor that makes you utterly invincible when you own all the pieces
Mid-grade armor

Many are missing the point behind Luclin armors. It is not ment to be the top of the line, it is ment to bridge to gap between old world armor and planear. The difference between this and planear is VI accually used stats on the Luclin armors that the class would benifit from. Velious armor is still ment to be the best in the game. Planes armor is easier to come by (face it, you just have to be in the zone, on the raid, and win a roll). This stuff is questable, the quest pieces are tradable, and the armor itself it tradable, for ANYBODY. This allows you to equip your alt characters without being 46 for planes, buying expensive gems or MQing armor. For once, I think VI finally got something right.

Me thinks this stuff is meant for mid level at best, except for those wondering how it makes you look! My bracers these days are Blue Diam Velium for their resists...no way I'll wear these things!
And I thank the lord of clerics the day I was able to shed my last bit of purple!!
Wis Cap is 250
# Jan 30 2002 at 7:18 AM Rating: Decent
Even if you have 200 wisdom, RMBs or Cleric Gold bracers are better because they raised the wis/int cap to 250 a while back. I don't know why no one knows this, it was in the patch messege and stuffs. Would think people would notice something as important as that. Ah well *sigh*
RE: Wis Cap is 250
# Feb 05 2002 at 10:48 PM Rating: Excellent
Snibbs, maybe it is you that fails to realize that even though the new int/wis cap is 250, you get verry little mana for any point over 200. If you are under lvl 50 you get roghly 3 mana points per wis or int and about 5 mana points if you are 50-60. This is the mana you get for each point OVER 200. If you are below 200 you still get about 10 mana /point and about 13 mana if you are 50-60
So if you have 203 wis you have the mana you had at 200 +9 mana which is crappy so it is still verry non efficient to get your wis/int passed 200
RE: Wis Cap is 250

hmm .. this is what i read and what i tried in magelo.

The formular for mana per INT/WIS until 200 is: lvl/5
So you starting INT/WIS determine the base mana of you char. For every point of WIS/INT you get above your base you will get lvl/5 mana.
At lvl 40 this is 8 mana per point, lvl 50 10 mana and lvl 60 its 12 mana for every point over your base and under 201.

For each INT/WIS point above 200 you will get 6 mana. I don't know if you only get 1 mana per point over 250, but it sound very logic, cause it should be a soft cap.

So if you have over 200 mana you have to calculate every time if the item wis the more INT/WIS is better or the item with the direct mana :D

If I am over 200 and if two items have close or the same mana after the calculation, than i prefere the direct mana every time. Cause in later lvls the items will have more and more INT/WIS and you will hit 255 soon enough :D

Not that bad
# Jan 23 2002 at 9:20 AM Rating: Decent
One thing some of you are missing is that this bracer also adds 5 mana. If you are above 200 Wis each point of Wis adds 6 mana so you are effectively at very nearly 4 Wis on these bracers.

I'm pretty sure that most non-dwarf clerics would trade 14 mana for 6 str. I know I would.

lame

Lame. Cleric quest bracer is better. /shrug.. go for it, maybe good looking grafix.. but i doubt it.

It's the same graphic as PoH gear. Purple.
Bracer
# Jan 23 2002 at 3:45 AM Rating: Decent
Actually this bracer is very good for a few reasons. It is very light. Only 1.5stone. Ro bracer is much heavier. The str is a nice bonus. Two points less wisdom is not bad but is unfortunate. But look at it as an alternate quest. Plus the Twilight Sea quests have armor for locations that the Ro armor does not. Cloak and mask in particular. Frankly even as a 54th cleric interested in what these end up looking like.

You can get a Runed Mithril Bracer for a little more than it costs to get the plat bar for the Sol Ro quest bracers.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 22 2002 at 6:52 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) OMG! a cleric quest item that actually gives wisdom, the sol ro items gave int for god sake, and that is complete and utter bull$hit. oh well, at least now clerics have something to look forward too, however small.

Umm, The Sol Ro Cleric bracer is AC9 and +5WIS. Don't know what your looking at but that's not INT in my book.

Bracers of the Reverent blow this item outta the water and can be quested for by a 30s lvl cleric. Maybe this is good for a HIE who needs the STR add, but a dwarven cleric like mine is plenty strong enough to tote his armor and a bag or two of loot and would reeeeeally rather have the additional 4 WIS a pair of the Ro version emparts.
