I've killed about 15 Minota Hero for 6 hours but never seen Mino Shackle.
Does any1 think my faction affect Mino Hero not droping the shackle? or Should I 'start' this quest from the NPC?
If these are not the case, It seems this quest is patched. and no more Shackle drop from Mino Hero?

He drops the shackles every time, and is lvl 35, so blue to a 45, so trivial loot code would not apply.
Dude, you're not killing the Hero, you're killing something else. He doesn't spawn 15 times in 6 hours.
That would put it at 1 hero for every 3 ish PHers. (PH spawn time, 7 minutes) Can you imagine how many dead noobies there'd be if he showed up every time that first mino was killed 3 times?

We were in the area and found the hero was on rack so we killed him. with the body on the ground I found him on track again and we killed him. Checking again I found him back again! after the 3 pop in 5 minute he didnt pop again. each time he poped behind the big gear by the caves. I have camped him for hours before and nothing so i guess my luck balenced.

I doubt that your problem is faction. The first time I did this quest I got the shackle first as I was already in Steamfont. I went back to Qeynos and worked for days to get my faction up (gnoll fangs to the warrior guild in Halas, Orc belts to Cain Darkmoore in Freeport, and finally the steel warriors initiation quest). My faction with the steel warriors was really poor, but I was able to get the first shackle anyways.
The first two times I did the quest the hero spawned within 20 minutes. The last two times, however, it has been 3 to 4 hours before he spawns.
The minotaur lord on the otherhand re-spawns almost immediately after you kill him. He drops a mino axe and a Lore, No Drop Horn.

Are you sure it was the mino hero, 15 in 6 hours is a heck of a lot. I was helping with a camp on monday, and each time he spawned we got the shackle. He spawned three times in about 4 hours.

I am sure that I killed the Mino Heros 15 time
I am 45 SK in SZ server.

I've killed him 3 times myself and been in a group that's killed him twice and he's ALWAYS dropped the shackles, and usually a few more items (Axe, other vendor junk). He's easily soloable by a well equipped ranger at level 35 - 36, snare kited with about 50 5dmg 150 range arrows (Trueshot bow, of course) and then tanked him the rest of the way (lammy and centi LS) fell rather easily, took about 10 mins.
Dream on, you did not kill Mino Hero 15 times in 6 hours. That was some other mob. Hero drops shackles EVERY time you kill him, always. As for the spawn of Hero, then I have got lucky only once during all my EQ time with a fast spawn of Hero: basically I went to the cave, killed PH and Hero immediately popped out! Talk about luck.. Otherwise one is lucky to get him to spawn in 2-3 hours. 15 times in 6 hours is fairytale.
EDIT: you may be mixing him up with Minotaur Lord perhaps, who is a fairly common spawn and doesn't drop really anything at all. They have the same look as well, simply different spawn points.

Obviously you do not know what YOU are talking about. I was sitting in front of the cave giving a friend a PL when this guy spawned, killed him got the shackle, 15 mins later he popped again, so yes, I can see this guy getting it 15 times in 6 hours.
15 Heroes in 6 hours is an insane amount! Most people (like myself, when I did the camp) spend up to 6 hours just to see him once!
I've been in on 4 kills, and soloed him once personally... every time, he dropped the shackles.
Is SZ a "Trivial Loot" server? I thought only FV was now. If it is, then if you're seeing the "This combat was trivial" or whatever message it is, then you may as well go do something else.

Can Beastlords use this thing?? I was gonna quest for it and give it to my beastlord, as I assumed they could use it (being as they are a warrior/shaman hybrid and warriors and shamans can use!). If it is just a mistake please post it here. If they can't.....then why not dammit!!!

Actually if you take into consideration the armors (formerly monk only armors can be worn by them, and they are only leather based) and skills (many hand to hand weapons are monk/bst only) they are more of a monk/shaman hybrid, not a warrior/shaman hybrid.
I have since completed the quest, and even though it doesn't say BST can use above, I assure you that they can. This was the easiest quest in the world, took me 30mins, and the hero popped on my second slaver kill. Will do it again tomorrow for a friend......maybe.

Does it matter how hi or low amiamble you are? I'm now hated by the FP gaurds, except NFP gaurds love me hehe. I've been indifferent for quite sometime turning in DF belts and militia helms
But whats this milk thing I read about is that just plain milk you buy at a merchant and that 100 milks is that 100 stacks or 5 stacks of milk (5 stacks = 100 milk seperate if that was confusing) or are they milks dropped from somewhere and who do i turn them into? btw I'm not sure how much faction dorn gives in NRo but he is painfully slow spawn just for faction purposes. I found camping him and playing /gem can get very addicting :P

I think it does, once I hit Aimable I said "second escaped gladiator" and he said I wasnt ready yet. I tried doing the kobold pelt qeust a couple times and it didnt help much. So i started the Steelwarrios Initiation Quest and after I finished and got the factions quests I was finally able to get a responce for the second part of the quest and i did it with no problem.

The best way i found to increase faction with steel warriors is the death fist belts. But when you get a bunch give some to the freeport miltia captain that way you will remain at that con tothem. I have always been apprehensive to them and truned in over 25 to the steel warriors and turned in like 5 to the milita captain. Still apprehensive. And am ambiable to steel warriors.. I tried the gnoll teeth no way too long .took like an hour of killing orcs to go from indifferent to ambiable

Here is what I found out doing this quest. First of all, the Steel Warrior initiation quest may be either broken, or may be warrior-only, because I was not able to finish it with my druid. I did get the key from Nomala (the faction hit is actually Prexuz) and I returned it. My faction with Steel Warriors is high amiable -- low amiable was still not enough to get the second part of the quest. Gnoll teeth are ridiculously slow for raising Steel Warrior faction -- I got discouraged after handing in over 80, but got good Wolves of the North faction as a side result. Instead, I handed in a few hundred milks to Hojax in WC and about 20 or so DF belts to Cain Darkmoore. If I do this quest enough times, I suppose I could be KOS in Freeport, but my Corrupt Qeynos Guard faction is already threatening as it is. With wolf form, though, I am dubious to them as well. I have completed this quest three times, and I've never waited more than an hour for the Hero to spawn.

I am not sure about druids, but I was able to do the Steel Warriors initiation quest as a Ranger. I had to get my faction up quite a bit though before I could get this quest. Turned in 320 gnoll teeth to the Halas warrior guild. Then had to turn in about 10 df belts to Cain Darkmoore in freeport. Then I could finally get the steel warriors initiation quest. After that I had all the faction I needed for the Hero Bracer quest.

I just completed the Hero Bracer quest last night. I wanted to get my faction of the Steel Warriors to amiable, but did not want to take faction hits. I decided to collect gnoll teeth exclusively. I turned in groups of 60, 80, or 100 teeth to the halas areana lady until I recieved the quest in Qeynos. I turned in a total of 580 teeth! For those who are doing it this way, be prepared to spend several full days of killing gnolls. I estimate I've killed over 2000 gnolls. Very agrovating process, but the reward is sweet. Good luck!
The very first time I killed her, she dropped the key. I have killed her up near 10 times now, and she has yet to drop it again. I need it to give to Grahan again. Since I messed up, and he kept the key. But she is getting discouraging....

So, off to get the key. When I return, I give him the key, and the only thing he says (after I rehailed him) was my head would look good in the Warrior Guild Hall. I am afraid to hand over the shackles, since those were a pain to obtain.
Are you supposed to give both the key and shackles to him at the same time? I did not read it like that.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Quest was boring if you ask me. sit for 2 hrs killing slayer at entrance who are green to me waitin for hero to spawn. hero spawns and drops dead. dropped minitar axe sells for bout 2 plat and shackles. didnt do faction part cause my friend already did faction part. I gave shackles to him and he made trade at qeynos. I have since then considered selling it and doing quest again. had offer of 1100. when was last time u made 1100 plat off 2 hr quest at lvl 30?

Plus, how can you make 1100pp in 2 hours, as you need to camp for 2 hours, kill the mino (30 secs to 15 minutes, depends of your class and level), run to the other side of the world (that is 15 or 16 zones away, with a 20-30 minutes boat trip in between = I would estimate a total of 2 hours if you have sow), give the shackles to get your bracers, then get back to the auctions-zone of your server (add 30 to 40 minutes if your zone is in EC or Freeport) and finally wait 2 hours that someone wants to buy this for not 1100pp, but 800pp, because the price droped ?!?
All in all, let's face it, if you are not a Porter or have not a very good porter friend, this quest is not a better money-maker than mindlessly killing giants in Rathe Mountains.

How did u give something that is no drop to your friend....

Basically, if you are standing in the entrance to the Mino mines, facing inside the tunnels, the Hero will appear directly behind you across the valley (you can see him from the entrance itself)
I managed to get him to spawn approx every two hours by constantly kiling the Mino slavers...

His only ph is the first mino slaver inside by the cave entrance. And for some reason, I found him back behind the giant cog thing, maybe he agroed some stuff? oh well, was a pretty tough solo.

I have a barbarian warrior on Cazic-Thule and have suggestions for completing this quest. Don't bother with the gnoll fang quest, takes too long. I went and found Mojax Hikspin in West Commons by the lake. Unfortunately my faction was too poor to even give him milk. So, I slaughtered every orc and deathfist pawn in sight until my faction with Mojax went above indifferent. I then gave him about 200 milks in 4 stacks of 4, or 16 at a time. Upon returning to Qeynos I found Grahan Rothgar below the arena and asked him "what second escaped gladiator?" He responded so I gave him the shackles and BOOM, the Hero Bracer was mine :)

At lvl 24 the Qeynos gaurds regard me as there ally. I'm not joking that is what they con to me. All I have done is fight in BB when i was lvl 7 to lvl 13 and everytime I run through WK I kill those stupid bandits which gives great faction and I also turn in their sashes to the guy at the Paladin guild in South Qeynos. My faction is higher than kindly considers you so quests in Qeynos shouldn't be hard. Does anyone know if this is the highest faction you can obtain or is there an even higher faction? As soon as I'm high enough lvl to camp the hero I will have these bad boys.

On this quest it does not matter what the Guards regard you as. Im a ally too and it doesn't make one difference. If i where you i would do catman quest then go to Toxx and go to Warrens. Do the pelt quest about 7 times and you will have good enough fraction to do quest. Steel Warriors Fractiong Is differetnt then Qeynos Guards.

Its to much of a pain in the rear for such a cheap item. The whole KOS thing is BS so what I recomend to all is go camp the GBS if your a n00b, kill high lvl mobs for cash if your not, or go camp a easier less time consuming item and sell/trade for hero. Cuz being KOS is lame and a hassle and its already hard enough to keep good faction on a PvP server :P
Wood elf ranger here.. Apprehensive to all of Qeynos when starting. Short approximate #'s here.. 6-Clothspinner runs ; 38 gnoll teeth to Halas ; killed dorn in nro about 14 times ;Dvinn about 4 times ; lenka's pouch FP docks 3 times ; 100 milks after i checked faction(indifferent still).. After turning in the milks(one stack of 4 or 4 each only) then checked faction again and finally amiable.. Asked Grahan "what escaped catman".. he gave me the catman quest.. (i didnt do that one)..then asked grahan"what second escaped gladiator"(not enough faction yet) went up to Brin on balcony.. "i am a young steel warrior" he gave me the pouch for the initiation quest finally.. Did that, then asked grahan"what second escaped gladiator" Bingo.. told me where to find the shackles.. gave him shackle.. Very cool Good luck all took me about a week to get my faction up.. As for the CorruptQeynos guards and FP militia..... Tonight i am goin to turn in about 20 scalps for gnoll/orc scalp quests in highpass.... Both of those quests are + the above 2 and no neg hits to our friends.then check my faction at the tollbooth(i believe those are militia? and the gates and such around fp.. should be fine. ;)

I guess I did it the smart way then and killed gnolls in BB, cause I aint KOS in FP :D

=) works for me. I am already KOS to them. Had a little to much fun in WC during oh lvl 38+ Still kill them every chance I get too. The plus side of being KOS by the Militia is that the North Freeport Guards will Love you.

1.i did not have good enough faction to do the quest. but it was easy to raise it. there is a man behind the inn near the lake named Mojax Hikspin if you give him 4 milks at a time (i stacked mine) you will get faction with a few peeps +Steel Warriors -Freeport Militia. I gave him at least 1000 milks
2.when you have enough faction go kill the mino hero and take the shackles(no drop) it was easy for me because a friend in my guild was helping me out.
3.take the shackles to the dude down in the basement of the warrior guild in qeynos (Graham)
CONGRATZ, you are now the owner of a brand new hero bracer and tha Freeport Militia wants yer head, hope you know how to get trew the tunnles, carefull o' those necros n' stuff
althou i am a halfling warrior and can't wear this it is great to sell, i sold mine fer 1000pp.

Ok here comes a walkthrough to complete the quest.
1. You have to talk to Graham Rothkar (sp) in Qeynos Arena. Hail him and he will tell you a story about a escaped catman. Ask him "what about the other escaped gladiator" if you have enough faction he might give you the Hero Bracer quest immidiatly, I dont know. Anyway you have to be high amiably to get the quest. To raise faction you can kill gnolls in BB (Blackburrow) and take the fangs that they drop. Give those fangs 3 at a time to Lysbith in the Halas pit (warrior guild).
2. When you have enough faction you go and camp the Minotaur Hero in Steamfont mountains. He is a triggered random spawn and might spawn if you kill the first mino slave in the cave. The one that spawns nearest the caves entrance. Once that slave spawns you just kill him (lvl 12-15) and then run out from the cave and across the valley to the other side. Once you get there you will find two trees where the Mino Hero will spawn. When he does kick his lame *** butt (lvl 35 warr) and get the shackles (no drop).
3. Get your *** to Qeynos and give Graham the shackles when you know you will be given the quest. Hail him and ask "what about the other escaped gladiator" then you will know.
Congrats you have just been rewarded with a Hero Bracer AC 9 +10Str +5Dr +5Pr
I collected about 300 gnoll fangs (which I think that I didnt have to) and still did´nt get the quest. I had to do the escaped catman quest first. Thats a easy one =) Go to Kerra Isle and slay Nomala, she will drop a key that you should return to Graham. Dont know if she drops it every time. She did drop it at the first kill for me :)
Ps. The mino slave at the cave has a 6 and a half minute spawn and will attack if you sit close to his spawn loc. Just sit there and watch TV once he spawns you will hear his snoar and that he tries to hit you.
