Required: YesSo I took a guildies advice. I did 1.5 prequest took 2 hours. Then I did 1.5 took 4 hours. Then I did 2.0 took 2 hours. So after being warned by all SK's I talked to I decided to do this quest for the 1.0. It took me 46 hours in a row from start to finish to get the 1.0. I did 90% of the quest in 2 hours. I camped Fear for 30 hours killed Terror got sword. Did all my turn ins then camped Lhranc in CoM (He wasnt up) for 14 hours then he spawned. One HT from a lvl 81 SK with 2100 AA's later he was dead I turned in tolken and got this 1.0 in record time! I highly reccomend following the guide on Evilgamer on this epic as it cuts out 60% of the quest (Most of the factioning and farming). For the paineel key i reccomend killing the 2 sentinels outside Erudin 6 times this took me from threatening to ally! There was only one mob that did not allow me to do a turn in with self invis or ITU. It is the ghost in the hole who spawns the undead version of himself. Fortunatly another SK was farming down there and threw one on me. This was literally the only potential sticking point i can see in your quest for this marvelous item that I love with all my heart. You can do it friends and good luck!

I started this quest almost 2 years ago now on Al'Kabor the Everquest Mac server. We play on an older client that is time locked in Planes of Power. I specifically play in a guild called <Vintage> and we are progressing through each expansion as it was intended to be played. We recently bested Veeshans Peak with all Kunark/classic only spells and gear and beat Kunark in just over a year.
I unfortunately missed the boat on my Epic as the Decrepit Hide drop on our server is pre drop rate revamp. So the decrepit hide drops maybe once in ever 50 Hate Runs.
After 2 years of waiting and hoping I have finally downed Lhranc with 25 or so Vintage Members, mostly 60s and geared out now in Sky Shrine quest armor. We took him down pretty quickly with our Wizards nuking the crap out of him and Epic mage pets beating down on him. He still drops melee like they are nothing.
Feels good to have this finally completed. I now have this and Greenmist as an Ogre SK to cruise around with. Come check us out if you are a mac user or have a mac and want a great community of people who love this game.

I just completed this quest as of 9:25 EST today on my level 49 Shadow Knight, named Gotterdammerung, on the E'ci server. I frown at Tunare.

Wrong.
The effect won't work until 50, but you can get epic before 50. You can start it anytime you want. The only real limit is the zone access level you might need. For instance, planes are 46 to enter. However, many epics with items from planes can be MQed.

You need to be 50, I seem to remember, for most Epic Quest NPCs to talk to you/give you rewards for turn-ins.

Killed Kurron Ni on Prexus a few days ago, so he still spawns. i did this step of the epic because i want to do it start to finish, not half ass it. /shrug There will always be someone who will say this weapon sucks ass and its a waste of time, but some of us want to wield the Curse...because its our FREAKING epic! and nothing out there thats bazaar bought has a better graphic than this thing. and yeah my Blade of Disruption, Edge of Envelopment and Black Bastardsword are all better than this weapon but they all have crappy graphics. /shrug its more of a prestige item now. i still think its really sad there are level 75 sk's out there without this. you guys are lazy.

ok since patch in Nov 1 on the nameless server, no kurrin ni. If u r on THE NAMELESS and killed the mob since then please put up a post in regards to this, sevral SK'S on the nameless are waiting on mob.....otherwise ill keep sending /bug and /petition reports

Actually RPG games are about quests not gay quests-i dont think many can disagree that sony showed lack of imagination and effort when they created the epic quests, they were lazily done and their way of making it 'epic' was to throw stupidly long timer on spawns and make items unreasonably rare to drop. So any way of avoiding partof epic is a good thing.
Thankfully sony realised their mstake with epic quests and put alot more thought into the new epic quests which are fun to do

I have to disagree with you Asteldian. Back when the 1.0 epics came out they were very good quests for their time. You have to remember back then we didn't have AA's or nor the equipment or spells that are available now. Most of the epic 1.0 walkthroughs say you need full groups or raids to take down certain mobs. But you'll find comment made by players stating that isn't the case anymore. Most of the time a couple of mid 60's peeps will have taken out a mob that the walkthrough say it takes a full group or more. You have to remember that Sony has added so much to the game to make it much easier to play as to attrack new players. As far as the new epics go, I'm enjoying them just as much as I did doing the 1.0 epics.
Ok Ok but still doesnt address the real brain dead crap they came up with. I am not talking about Gear , Stats, AA's, Effects. I am talking about a simple plot. Those Tards had some great funny and simple stuff back in the day. Then something happened during a span of time where they all became TARDS. Did you do the Life Leech Quest for a level 49 spell but you can only get the quest at level 50? Guess what they lowered the spell to level 47 now. YOU STILL MUST BE LEVEL 50 to get the quest!
Now why would they lower it to level 47 you might ask yourself. Perhaps the game has out grown the spell and they felt it should be used sooner at a lower level? Maybe? Perhaps? If so who forgot to change the classic bad quest so a level 47 could get the spell? Or did they want to just lower the level to trick us all into thinking they are cool like that?
Please we would get fired if we did stupid stuff like this at our real life jobs. Well unless we worked for some liberal, forgiving panzy like yourself.
It is not a code thingy or buggy thingy. Someone just forgot and I am willing to bet it was the same slacker who put all that effort into the quest dialog after a few blunts.

Well I see everyone posting here that the proc is a 250 lifetap? I clicked on the link for soul consumption, it said its decreases hit points for 50 per tick? So I'm just wondering if they nerfed the proc for our epic?

The SK epics proc is indeed a 50pnt a tick DoT, for a total of 250pnts. The DoT then gives the life back to you at 50hps a tick. The nice thing about this is, at least that I have noticed, is that this effect stacks on itself. I have had the epic proc 2-3 time back to back, and thus I regenned 100-150hps a tick. Not too bad. Hope this helps.

i have a bbs blackbastard sword and i dueled a sk with his epic for kikes we had same basic stats both delfs and i won with a vengence i faster and i hit the damage and i kiked his but so i would recomend that you not get this epic untill the upgrades are availble

This sword is a culmination of days of work. and since I cannot find a Listing for "blackbastard sword" I can only assume you are talking about the http://www.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=16735 which is the closest thing I could find. Upon review .. Innoruuk's will has better stat bonuses and a better Effect the "Black Bastardsword" has a better DPS and has AC. if it were up to me I would rather get Innoruuk's Will because it is in my opinion a better offensive weapon than the "Black BastardSword" primarily because the effect drains HPS from your opponent and gives them to you over time. The effect of the "Black Bastardsword" Increases Hate only. No Damage dealt from Proc. This means that the BBS is primarily used for MT's. Since you dueled and we have no idea about the person you dueled or the gear he was wearing or the level he was. Your reccomendation is hardly something be considered.

No more HASTE WMP from 5 people at one time anymore) Rogue (41% haste with insane ratio/stats in a primary, I'D KILL FOR ONE). Now i'm not calling anyone a moron here, but for god sakes do your homework on your class. SK's are NOT tanks, that is why our epic is NOT a WINDWORN!

Kngihts are actually some of the best tanks in the game, hands down. Sure, they can;t take the sheer beating a warrior can, but they hold aggro like no one's business. Not to mention, good pullers, so they can pull and tank, which is a good combo so that aggro is never juggled, AND can FD split, which is quite useful in pulling.

Dunno exactly what you're talking about, Windblade, as the title of the post implies, or a wind-worn handblade, which is by no means a Sk weapon.

it used to be a lvl 1 could loot the sword off lharnc at the end but they patched it a long time ago so now he drops the thing you have to turn in for the sword
All epics require going to the level 46+ planes, sir, to prevent nonsense like level 1's having the thing. Most of the NPCs won't even speak to you if you aren't that high, or higher in some cases.

The offical response from Sony was that you have to be level 50 to start any epic quest. There are certain early steps you can complete on some epics like the BST epic, but most NPC's will not talk to you until your level 50. Hope that helps.

if shadowknights get lifetap modifiers as AA abilities that should in turn in increase the already good lifetap of this weapon,in the hands of an sk with the right aa abilities the proc could become prety lethal making up the lack of dmg on the weapon itself and keeping the user fairly well healed........... but then im not sure if aa's affect procs or spells only if anyone is for sure on this please tell me

Aye, Greenmist is a 1hs Sk wep, procs a dot if im not mistaken, decent stats for its time. The quest is long, but satisfying i.m.o.

it's an epic like weapon quest that starts in cabilis, many sk's consider it the "alternate" sk epic weapon. do an equipment search for "greenmist" and you can read plenty about it there.

You must mean The Sword of Ssraeshza? Yeah I think it'd annihilate this thing. Not only is it better then a Windblade which im sure parses for far better, but it also has BANE and Magic damage. That and 50 ac which is a godsend for a MT. Im sure IC has it's place though, it is certainly no small accomplishment and as an SK Iwould not mind having one.

Hello fellow SKs!!
Just wanted to report that i FINALLY got my epic on legends server. Ive had greenmist since level 55 and ive been working on the epic ever since. I figured I'd report that this quest is very difficult and just for all you who are reading the quest in its entirety, realize that you DO NOT NEED TO DO THE WHOLE QUEST!! You can skip Kurron Ni, that stupid 1k elixir, and the ratman guard. All you need to do is hide and TYPE /con. If he then cons indifferent hit trade and GRATZ!! you just skipped gay quest stuff!! You can also have peeps MQ stuff for you this way. Just replace hide with invis spell(after trade screen is up of course) and make sure the NPC is still indifferent. I got Soul Leech MQd to me by a RL buddy and i bought the Decrepit Hide MQ today for 50k. I know that sounds steep, but I've been to Hate 27 times and killed over 250 ashenbone drakes and not seen a single hide. I petitioned and did a /bug every time and GMs just told me it still dropped. BTW i think that the epic was way worth the money. The spinning skulls and purple glow are way badass. I plan on doing the sro LDON and buy the proc augment that does 1 second stun and 100DD(direct damage). BTW i also 1 grouped Lhranc. I was very nervous, but our group consisted of all 65s with mad AAs(except me). We almost didnt kill him, but luck shined through. And the MT was a 65cleric with 420AAs and full set of time gear hehe. Keep up the hard work and you'll get their guys )

Gratz! I got my greenmist at 54 myself, (56 now), and found a guildy to MQ the decrepit hide. Now I just need the soul leach, and I'll be off to kill final boss in CoM.

A single Type 4 Slot, to answer your question.
The LDoN release recently made this even more desirable, being able to customize your IC by increasing the DMG, Stats, and other possible effects. I would suppose that this is the only way that Verant would think of doing an "Epic Upgrade" but maybe someday they can think of something a lil better, since other weapons out there that are much less a pain to get, i.e. Sword of Ssraeshza & Bloodied Berserker's Blade, etc, that can also be upgraded.
In my case, Greenmist is still more desirable, as the proc and shissar dmg are insane compared to this, but I still intend to work for both.

I do have one question about this item. The description indicates this is a triggered effect, not a proc. The image appears to be an older one, as it does not indicate the casting time. It also does not show whether the weapon must be equipped. Does this weapon have to be equipped to use the effect?
Even if better weapons are available, and the weapon must be equipped to use it. There is still the option of using the effect, then switching to another weapon for the actual fight. (Or switching to the weapon in mid fight for the effect, then switching back)

A suggestion for all of you SK's having trouble with your epic (true something faction) a shammy buddy of mine did rist 1/2 of his epic (pretty scate) and got from doubious iwth truespirit up to amiable.. perhaps you should lookinto this quest just for the faction.
Now while I am completely unable to make out MOST of what this guy says, he does mention truespirit faction. Several epics are on this faction including the shaman epic, in fact the shaman epic is so dependant on it that you can actually skip several portions of it by repeating easier steps (like the sheild of falsehood) until your faction is maxxed and then just turn in the tear from the iksar broodling to Rak'Ashiir. However since this is on a SK weapon I am guessing that this quest is also on Truespirit faction, but the only thing that doesn't ring remotely close to true is some one going from dubious to amiable doing parts of shaman epic. The shaman epic mobs are pretty much totally unfriendly to anyone lower than amiable to them (shaman default true-spirit) and are likely to just eat quest items and tell you to go get bent. As a note, the fact that it is so easy for shaman's to max out this faction, wich is used in several epics, to include wizard and enchanter, makes them ideal people to do MQ's for those parts (IE Wizard staff from Phinny ETC). Best of luck to all of you out there on the epic trail, granted there are mainy "better" items available out there these days, but I can almost guarentee few of us who complete their epics regret doing it.

You can use the "invis-while-the-trade-window-is-up" trick to do the first part of the Shaman epic, regardless of your TrueSpirit faction, since Indifferent is in fact good enough for this to work.

To answer your question: you don't need any faction for this quest. All quest guys are on TrueSpirit faction and everyone starts off apprehensive. For every turn in or MQ just bring another person to invis you and the MQ person (or ITU). MQ person put item in trade window someone invis's him/her (make sure they con indifferent after invis) and hit trade. You do the same thing, put item(s) in trade window, have someone invis you (or use hide, but MAKE sure you /con to make sure they are indifferent) and hit trade, you get your items. This works through every step of the quest, through the end.

As far as the difficulty of IC versus Greenmist, no contest IC is SEVERLY more difficult. I am a 64 DE SK on Xev, and even with my faction issues I finished the GM quest in about 5 weeks. The rare drops off demi-gods (hate and fear mobs), make IC a real pain in the arse. However it is worth it. Yes yea yes.....I know there are better weapons out there, but weilding your epic is a souce of pride, even more so since the SK epic is the hardest (or close) epic out there. Not to mention by far the coolest graphic. As far as faction to get into Neriak? If I can get into Cab, you can get into Neriak. Indigo Brotherhood is easier than Crusader faction to adjust. I am scheduled to take down final mob early next week, and to best of my knowledge, I will be the only Dual Epic'd SK on my server. Get out there and get it done, will be a pleasure to answer the /tell What sword is that???. If any on Xev needs info please feel free to send tell.

Dual Epiced SK refers to having Greenmist and IC. Greenmist is considered by many to be the alternate SK epic weapon.
Okay...I've seen a lot of flames currently...I just wasted 30 minutes of my life scrolling through this crap hoping for some answers, and found none. Now, my question, just how hard is it for an iksar to do this quest? I know there's the faction problems, which I'm currently working on...Might have to get an enchanter to cast Project Illusion: Dark Elf on my 56 shadowknight yes I'm too lazy to make a new Allakhazam account. But anyway...any iksar know how hard it might be? And, if anyone would like to know just because I do Worn Haste does -not- stack with itself! You can get one haste item and one haste spell cast on you, and that's it. If you wear more than one hasting item you get the haste from the one that has more haste % on it. Now then, feel free to call me a newb or whatever, I dont want to hear it. It's a game, and I currently just want to have fun on it by doing my epic. I also have the greenmist, so I think I have a perspective on how hard this quest may be, but I just need a little info, thankies!

An iksar prolly has much better chances of getting this than I do... I'm a big fan of Bert ya see and Inny fans despise Bert fans. As far as an iksar knowing pains by doing greenmist...ya must be nuts. Try being almost any other race and ya know exactly how much faction can be a problem. The rare drops and what not from the gods above are nothing near as much a pain as the pure faction farming. Spent countless hours already just working on Legions of Cabilis faction so I can turn in bone chips...still only aprehensive.

Forget the bone chip quest. Go kill the explorers in LoIO and turn in their survival knives. You raise Legion of Cabilis and Pirates of Gunthak factions, and lower Emerald Warriors (Wood Elves), Firiona Vie, and Storm Guard (Dwarves) factions. You don't get a knife every time, but just keep killing them. They have a pretty fast respawn time, so you're not sitting there all day waiting for them.
By the time you have a stack of Explorer Survival Knives, your Legion of Cabilis faction should be high enough to talk to Trooper Vaurk, who gives the quest. If not, kill a bunch of wandering sarnaks and forsaken iksar to speed it up a little. Also, killing the forsaken iksar is the only way to raise Brood of Kotiz (Iksar Necro) faction. When you turn in the knives, you get positive faction with Legion of Cabilis (Troopers; warrior guild), Crusaders of Greenmist (Crusaders; SK guild), Swifttails (monks), Cabilis Residents, and the Scaled Mystics (shaman).
Your Legion of Cabilis faction will skyrocket, but the Crusader faction will take time, though it will take less time than with the bone chip quest. It's also a LOT safer, once you're no longer KOS to the Troopers.

I am unfortunaly not in a uber guid...but i have a couple high level friends. Now currently i am almost 57 but am not able to get alot of plane time in....so if i went and got the coin...could i just go and hand it in to get Inny's curse??

When you hand those items in Lhranc repops in his live form and you get the coin. To get the right version of Marl to show up you must Kill Lhranc. Then hand the coin to the Marl that pops on his death.
There is no way to ninja loot the epic or to bypass killing Lhranc. In the olden days anybody could loot the sword but they finally fixed that after some complaining about low level SK's with the epic that a friend had gotten them.
All the mobs in CoM will be KoS to you. Faction with Lhranc for the hand in is truespirit. The Shaman epic is also on truespirit faction but there faction is very high when they finish. An SK's faction stays apprehensive throughout the EPIC unless you go to some really out of the ordinary efforts to raise it.

Well i have come to say YES there are better weapons out there but by far this weapon is not as bad as one thinks sure the quest is hard to do and the mobs are hard but remeber this is the badest looking sword in the whole game there will never be a sword that looks like this or have the uber effect this has sure the dmg to dly ratio is average but the effect PROXS offten making your health say up and the mobs go down now i havent had and comformation but i am hearing some rumors of a Epics 2.0 that is suposed to be in PoP someday just think what it would look like and how much more powerfull it would be compared to this one, the epic is worth it FOR EVERY class it is the final most important task you do.

This is a clicky proc, right? Anyone know what the casting time is for it? And the re-cast time?

No, it is a proc. It happens randomly during melee. Surprisingly, it procs quite often, as well.
you're goddamn RIGHT it procs often! for all the sh*t we have to endure to get it, it sure as sh*t better! :)

Depends. If your taking hits from the mob your fighting, the i'd say use Greenmist and a shield. Otherwise go nuts with this 2hander.

Oh yeah, let's compare high end raid level gear to gear obtanable 2 expansions ago by a force of level 50s.
compare the stats. sk epic isn't as good, but thier again neither is paladin epic. if i were an sk iw ould go for both...why? use sk epic for it proc, then switch to this one do the DPS (dmg per second). but don't feel bad sk epic sucks less then the paladin epic.

seriously, if you had the sword of sraeshza, you wouldn't be using this weapon. i don't even think sk's at that high end remember what innoruuk's curse is
and about the proc on this weapon, i rather use the proc on the sword of ssraeshza, itz a 100 LT proc which, IMO, is better than this one

Actually the proc on the epic is still better, 5 ticks of 50pts LT a piece adds up to more than just one shot of 100, and it is a trigger, insta cast as well, not a combat proc like the sword of ssraeshza.
Solution, use both, click the effect on inny's curse and then switch to the other for the dd lt.

Heres the story of the missadventure I had, I hope you never repeat this mistake. One day in Timorous Deep when I was low level, I was hanging out with some friends killing bandits at a camp. Thier leader spawned and we were too low to fight here but we did it anyway and took him out. A wolf ghost thing spawned and startled me so I harm touched it and hacked it to bits. I then found my faction with Truespirit has gotten lower. I assumed that meant ghost wolf monsters would hate me more and it wasnt a big deal, but soon found out from another player that this is my Epic's faction. I felt like a kid who does a flip on the monkeybars in front of everyone and lands on his head. I've spent MANY hours talking to people and looking on websites on how to fix this faction without costing me a ton of pain but nobody knows. Now when I force the spawn of a Truespirit wolf and try to communicate with it, he replies something along the lines of "Is that your breath or did something die in here?" It's kinda funny but at the same time, depressing. How do I fix Truespirit faction without going through pure hell?
I've killed alot of these wolves too. It doesnt seem to really lower the faction though. He always insulted you for hailing it since you are the wrong class for that wolf spirit. There is on in butcher too for killing peg leg for a shaman step.
If you feel you need to raise it, run seals from Kerra to paineel. Just dont return the note, but instead get another seal to run.

The Dmg is inncorrect on this weapon now I think. I heard that they lowered it to 38/45. Anyone confirm this?

Does anybody know how much you would slash for with this weapon at lvl 60? I dunno, Im just wondering, I'm still working on the quest. I need the Will of Innoruuk, and then I have to kill Lhranc. I was just wondering how much you would slash for with dmg 40, and the dmg bonus (what is DMG bonus?).

I usually hit with it for 110-190, with high hit so far being 263.

after turning in the items to Lhranc and killing him for the final battle, you now loot a token of some kind that you hand to a NPC in CoM who then gives you the weapon. You have to do the entire quest for your faction to be high enough. No cheating ;)
Your best bet then would to use the Trade Window/Hide trick to avoid getting boned turning in the coin. :P

Particle weapon is the name given to an epic because, if you've ever seen one, each gives off a special spell particle effect.

OK I have heard that there is a way to avoid a lot of the hassel in this quest by doing some truespirit faction work. Anyone who knows anything about this please post.

IE Kurron Ni, Cough elixer, Dusty Tome, Seal from Marl To Gerrot.
By doing some parts over and over to raise faction or by doing other quests that yield truespirit faction you can potentially bypass other faction events.
However, Be advised that if you get to the end and something is messed up due to a faction problem your not gonna get any help from verant if they find you didn't do the quest as implemented so questor beware.
