Paladins have always have the shaft with quests. Their quests are always the hardest of ALL. Any person who says completing the FD quest is easy is a flipping idiot. Granted, most paladins are used to doing the most difficult quests in the game, but completing the FA is a joke. It is just plain not worth spending so much time and effort just to get to gamble on a roll with 5 other paladins on a raid to complete 5% the quest. I say just go get some of those 2h slashers in Velious that have better ratios than the FD. A helluva lot easier to get... after all, they made those weapons for warriors so they are sure as heck gonna be a piece of cake to get.

look at the mag fa, paladins are damn lucky they have all their class specific quests, there are no good mag only quests out there which is sad

only hard part of this quest is naggy/vox book, getting to isle 4 on poa and that dang necro

The quest is hard as hell. I got the frost book from my friend Fay Raid 2 month plus and I still looking for Burst book. Naggy rarely drop our book. Fay nerf-ed for Rng/Druid. SF/EJ dragons rarely spawn. I dont know when can I obtain this weapon. RNG are easy on theirs and bit my dmg/del down. I never can taunt again evenif push my defense same as warrior, TT. Actually, I have no chance to receive dmg because warrior/Rng always in my group. I think only Pal or Sk know what I am saying. Pal/Sk are hell classes in EQ. Most leave now.

Aye this quest is extremly difficult. They dont call it an epic for nothing. Most of the grips I have seen is the players other than paladins ninja looting it. I must say if your in a large guild with high lvl players, by all means plan a raid there. After all thats what guilds are for, helping each other. That way there is no possiblity of ninja looting and you will eventually get your epic completed. Im sure a raid will be a wait as well. Possibly due to camping or other obstical. This is a very nice weapon for us paladins, nice proc too dd,stun,dot. Just that i don't know how much though since we only have one guy who has it in our server and he's rarely on if i'm ever on, oh yea BTW i'm from Vallon Zek, pvp team server, and the guy who has it is Ramza lvl 60 Crusader Malevolence.

easy?? you have to win 2 randoms against 2 dragons that spawn once a week. How many dragons have you faced, let alone killed? And then you have to win the random against two or three other palys at best? Please, that is not easy.
And all that before 53 mind you. That kunark dragon thing is BS becuase gorenare hasent been killed once on Innoruuk yet, and faydwer is a rare *** spawn in the middle of the ocean.

Faydedar gets spawned on Holloween in the Lake of Ill Omen. Usually kills 200-300 people before the uber guilds show up to spank it. Not sure if it drops what you need for epics those days, but plan on being there for the day to save the under 30 crowd. Kill it quickly and be a hero. Take your time and some folks will be killed 10 or 15 times at their bind point (how many levels does THAT cost?).

well it kinda is =P the hardest part is getting the FA. rest is kiddie stuff compaired to the FA/sf quests.

LOL I agree kinda , other than the FA this seems like cake walk to the Cleric Epic Quest.

It's not easy as you think. I did the quest in 25 days, and I am in the most powerful guild in my server. This is because to do the things you need, YOU MUST HAVE A RAID ALL FOR YOU!!
The thing in hate plane spawns only once per raid, as the DE in kithicor forest. Also the npc in fear plane is rare.

yea its not that easy man u know how many pallies go to vox and naggy raids? and the book is also rare, its a ***** to get the FA

ACTUALLY this quest is the hardest out of all clases lol .. where the hell did u et the idea to be pieceof cace compared to any other class quest .... every other has mobs that are
A) easily acessible
b) easy to kill
c) ALWAYS drop the quest item
d) are not limited by lvl limit on their epic mobs
Paladins on the other hand:
a)have mobs on a weekly respawn basis that also despawn if not raided fsast enuf
b) those same mobs are uber mobs requiring almost 50 ppl to kill
c) guess what ... what we paladins need is a RARE drop so ur gonna have to kill each of the respective dragons about 5 times to get it
d) are the only class that arent normally invited on those raids (if ur a cleric or chanter u wouldnt understand how that is)
Aye the stuff u need to do when u alrady got the FA is piece of cake .. but getting FA is still the hardest quest around

Easy? Doubtable. To even begin the epic quest for the Firey Defender, all Paladins basically start it at lvl 10ish. Starting with their testament in freeport, attaining their Ghoulbane at 30ish, being awarded the Soulfire and Holy Partisan of Underfoot at 35-40ish. Playing tag with the Nagafen and Vox till the books are recieved, playing with a lvl 50 undead necro in everfrost caves, to run to PoA to maybe recieve the Fiery Avenger. Then to finally be able to try for the Fiery Defender by turning in every sword you quested since you were lvl 10. Being a lvl 51 Paladin, and hoping to get the books from the dragons, I can say that YES, I too have slowed experiance, but that is because I want to have a hand in the death of the dragons.
Basically Paladins spend their whole lives questing to finally get the FD. Because every quest we begin, leads to the next, or a few quests complete yet another. That completed quest yet leading to another. So our epic isn't just a matter of looting a few high lvl, difficult NPC's. It's a lifetime of constant questing. And it's no wonder why few Paladins have either reached lvl 60, or have recieved their epics. There is a lot of questing involved, and only so much questing for one item is fun. I WILL get my FD, that I have promised myself. No matter how hard it may be.
For those that wish to go for the gold, I wish you luck.

This quest is NOT easy - how many times have you won rolls on a SINGLE RARE drop item on a dragon raid? PUH-LEEZ. The end part may not be hard, but the beginning part sure as hell is.
