Dragons of NorrathThis quest is still bugged.
You can kill and loot the necessary items with task updates fine.
You can turn in the few items and kill 10 more mobs with updates fine.
But then it says ? ? ? and won't update or show what that is.
According to Alla, it's to loot and turn in a Razor-sharp drake claw. And from the previous post it says from 'Grounding the Drakes' mission only.
As of now I can confirm it's bugged and not updating upon looting the claw.
I tried turning in to the NPC and he hands it back.
I tried getting one in 'Lavaspinner's Locals' as well as 'The Drake Menace' and no luck with a task update.

if that bug happens to you, say 'broken' to the NPC and follow the dialog and the ? ? ? adds the 'loot 1 razor-sharp drake claw' to your task window.
looted mine in 'grounding the drakes.'

For the High Elf cultural book I got my drop in the DoN Instanced "Grounding the Drakes" mission in Lavaspinners. Other zone instances will not get it, nor will regular zones.
The last step for the Grandmaster halfling cultural book says to loot a razor-sharp claw from a Stillmoon Drake, but the only place they drop from is Thundercrest. NO claws drop from Stilmoon. You have to get the last claw from Thundercrest.
Have been kiting entry drakes in non-instanced Thundercrest Isles on 70 Wiz (baz geared). These drop pretty regularly there.
I have to agree with the above post.
The drakes in the regular Thundercrest zone drop mainly fractured drake claws but their more rare drop is the Razor-sharp drake claw which while more rare does drop pretty regularly.
I'd guess you'd get one in 5 or 10 kills.

i've done away with over 100 drakes in non-instanced thundercrest isles. have yet to see one drop.

update- got grounding the drakes mission, got the claw first kill.
moral of story- it probably does not drop in thundercrest. in fact, i never even saw a fractured claw drop there.
do 'grounding the drakes' mission for your drop.

Looking for the final drop for my Chanter (High Elf)GM book. I have now killed a small batallion of drakes in the regular Lavaspinners Lair, and no drop yet.
Can any High Elf who has done his tell where he found his. Id hate to be killing in the wrong zone

I have been in 2 DoN instance when this dropped. I looted them, but the task did not update, so even though the name of the item was exact, it was not the item the task was looking for.
My guess is reg zone, rare drop, but do not know.

Ok Ive killed hundreds of these guys. Whats the deal? Is this an instanced drop only?
