Cracked and Pristine Giant Scarab Carapaces also drop off the Deathbeetles in Unrest. They are plentiful, the Pristine are uncommon, but not particularly rare.

Aye, I looted a cracked version from a deathbeetle in Unrest, but it weighs 5.0 and is medium size, not 0.1 and small size as is stated up above. It's been over a year since this item has been updated here, could have been changed since then I guess.

Today I was working on Cleric Armor newbie quest, and was killing "a Goblin" in Butcher Block. Oddly enought, one of them had it on him, and I looted it. Then I began to camp "a Goblin" for another 2.5 hours. Havnt seen another drop yet off of "a Goblin". Seems to be either "Very Rare", or "Uncommon".

Perhaps someone gave it to the goblin for some reason? That's my usual assumption when an item drops in an odd place.

Love these as they sell to vendors for several gold pieces. Hunting in NRO I killed scarabs all day long for decent exp and not bad loot at lvl 12-13.
