Cleric Epic 1.5

The discription states it balances the health of the entire group as well as heals 1500hp so if after balancing the groups health if the remander is 1500 hp or lower it will heal the group up to 1500hp
Group Heal

Dont have anyone targeted when you click it and it heals whole group
Effectiveness

I got my Shield this morning and have clicked it 3 times. I was under the impression it averaged the group's HP's and then healed EVERYONE to full. It seems to just average groups HP's and heal the one person who you have targeted. (Which doesn't help my 2k HP druid when I have the 10k Beastlord targeted for heals when I click... lol)

It wouldn't make sense to average everyone's hp then heal them all to full. If the shield was going to heal all to full, it would just do that directly instead of going through the unnecessary step of averaging everyones hp. From the spells description I could deffinatly see how it gave you that impression though.

It averages them first because it only heals for 1500ish.

Basically it's using the groups HP to heal the tank + 1500 HP for the group. A 1500 HP heal on someone with 100% health is going to land for 0%. But give 20% of their HP to the tank 1st, then heal everyone for 1500hp, well... the effect just because a lot more useful.

If I'm understanding the effect correctly, it's also more useful the more people you have in the group. It balances the health out throughout the party and then heals them for 1500 each.

Does anyone else see a problem with this not being a no fail combine. I mean sure if you have high tradeskills failure is very rare but, even with a 202 fletching skill I do fail every once in a great while. If I were a cleric and went to all the trouble of getting these pieces I would be pretty upset if it happened that one of those rare times I failed was on this piece. Just my 2cp.

Bah read through the quest again and the quest walkthrough says no-fail so is it no-fail or 15 triv as listed above?

Trivial refers to the point at which a combine stops giving the potential for skillups. Hard-coded fail caps (like GM DoN armor) and/or NO FAIL combines are a separate issue.

It is both. No fail, and 15 trivial.

I combined with it in the Guild Lobby Forge with 0 Blacksmithing skill. I got two (2)Blacksmithing skill ups on combine and made the shield.

Any combine with 15 trivial is no-fail.

Love my shield, increases my efficiency and decreases my mana useage immensely. Only problem with it is the useless type 4 slot (as per the reduced attack rate on bash and cleric's lack of weapon affinity). Ended up sticking a Bauble of rejeuvenation(sp?) from tipt on it because having a combative aug on it was silly.

The Cipher of Veeshan takes a lot of effort to get and has 30 HP/Mana (and 30 endurance, which clerics don't need).

An easier option is to get a couple people together and to to Tipt and get a Gem of Bolstered Power, which is also 30 HP/Mana and fits in all slot types and works as the type 4 in the Harmony of the Soul. It drops from the same an enraged maternal cragbeast as the Bauble of Rejuvenation and it has a 1 in 5 chance of dropping (and other augs drop if this one doesn't). The Bauble of Rejuvenation is a decent option for a cleric that does not have their mana regen maxxed already.

Quest a Cipher of Veeshan, it fits in all slot types, and is +30 to mana hp and end. Makes sure ot quest it by getting the OLD key to VP, or it will only have +15.

Not sure if real upgrade
# Mar 12 2005 at 4:40 AM Rating: Decent
My cleric has Aegis of Blackscaleso looking at this, yes effect is nice, but as for being an upgrade, I will loose a lot of FT and other things on my shield now. Going to have to work out if it really is an upgrade.
RE: Not sure if real upgrade
# Mar 04 2006 at 7:55 AM Rating: Decent
you lose 2% shielding and spell shielding as well as atk ( cleric dosent generally need)

the 5 mana regen is usefall, but generally not so hard to max

you gain 20 ac and 15hp and mana and a focus which takes away the agro from your heals...

the 1.5 is better, dont worry =)

EDIT: sorry- i didnt notice the date from your post =/

The additional modifiers on the Aegis are quite nice, I agree - but note that Harmonic Balance works from inventory! This is, IMO, still the most powerful of the epics. Just using the clicky once every 6 mins is the equivalent of Mana Regen +5 (320 mana assuming SCM3 for CH), and that doesn't even count the utility of having an improved, .8-sec cast DvA at your fingertips. DvA itself is arguably the 2nd-best AA to ever have (behind SCM). This shield's usefulness in Uqua alone (or any situation where low-aggro healing is vital) makes it worth it, even if the item had no stats on it at all. Personally, I would rather have the aggro-reducing focus than another 2% on shielding and spell shielding. As for the Mana Regen; since you are in a GoD guild, I am a bit amazed that you haven't picked up about Mana Regen +25 from misc items and augs.

Of course, you can always remember that this isn't really the "epic" at all; the final shield, Aegis of Superior Divinity, has +2 Mana Regen as well as a ton of other nice goodies - though it requires Anguish access.

Got this from a friend, he said he got it from some really high guild buddy in EQ. Cleric 1.5

#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 01 2005 at 2:32 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Put your foot in your mouth buddy. It's no drop. Also, your screenshot is OBVIOUSLY done while looking at another character, why else would you need to crop it like that. Nice try.

Kinda, but not really.

Epic 1.5 and epic 2.0 are the same quest. 1.5 is just something you get along the way, and is needed to complete the quest and get 2.0 as reward.

What it should read is, "This item is used in quests." Or both.
#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 21 2004 at 4:11 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Yes, it is all one quest, however he is saying that it is the 1.5 reward, not the 2.0 reward. He is correct.

Aegis of Superior Divinity (Cleric Epic 2.0)

The data stated is correct.
