I brought my Berserker to MPG at 65, figuring i can get him to 70 and get this drop at the same time for 70 to get 2.0.
My berserker just dinged 70, and still no Lightning Core.

OMG, it took a very long time to finally get one. Eventually got I it, but after a total of at least 25-30 hours, killing the lightning mobs in MPG, a few hours at a time. I was after one for my zerker 2.0. I cannot imagine farming 4 of them to make a lame magnetic BP. Good luck.
Eventually you will get one, but don't go there expecting one in a day or two. If you are that lucky, you should be playing craps, and not EQ.

I have yet to see one of these drop in MPG, I have seen them for sale in the bazaar but for sale for 90k on Quellious server.

they drop off the lighning mobs , get about 1 amonth but i only play in mpg about 3 times a month so the rarety of that must be luck .

I have talked to Berserkers with their 2.0, and it IS a poart of the pre-Anguish part of the quest.
YES. You can add the lightning core's to charge your magnetic armor even AFTER you equip it, but YOU are the one who has to do it at that point. You can't give it to someone else to smith it for you. Once you add the core's (if successful), the item becomes "attunable" again (unless they have changed that rule since the last time I did a combo with them.....and I have done many of these combo's. I am guessing that it wasn't sony's intent to make the attuneable effect re-occur after doing so, and therefore would not be surprised if this has been changed. I have never failed (knock on my wooden head) on a charged upgrade as of yet, so I can't say whether or not the item is then destroyed. I had been told by others that it was, but Joziah's post contradicts what I have been previously told. Having not experienced it myself, I can't tell you for sure, though. Sounds like Joziah has experienced it firsthand, though, so I will certainly give him the benefit of the doubt on that matter.

i believe the triv on magnetic bp (without cores) is 280something but to add on cores it is around 310...im too lazy to check out traderscorner but i think thats close :)

droped twp bp,core,and hand,with botts and arms today stayed at camp for about 1 /1/2 hours got the drops in CY camp , GL

Which is the CY camp? The only thing I can think of is Court Yard, which could be what we call the 6-way on AyRo. South of a open plaza with six exits. Is that it?
FIrst, can you combine lightning cores with magnetic armor AFTER you equip it (Attunable so it becomes no-drop). Second, if you fail at the attempt to combine the cores with the armor, is the armor also destroyed?

As i play on FV, i cannot answer your first question. But in response to your second question, the magnetic breastplate is NOT destroyed on a failed combine attempt. I know this because i have been unlucky enough to have failed this combine three times with 252 modified blacksmithing skill. This leads me to believe the trivial may be higher than 282, or has higher than average difficulty for its trivial. Of course, i could just be unlucky . . . .

ive done over 50 aa in mpg so far and only seen 2 ever drop to give you a idea of rarity.
