I believe i found this a couple of times in The Hole while soloing elemental warriors and crusaders. If the picture is a white substance then it is the same :)

Wish I had come here before doing this quest. Since it is given out in the clerics guild, and me being a cleric, I thought it might lead to something good for clerics. Doh. What did I need a bag of soil for? They should either move the quest giver into the pally guild, or make her smart enough to not give quests to characters that should have no interest. It is not fun to gather hard to find ingredients for someone and be rewarded with something that is not just worth little, but actually worthless. Stupid priestess.

I agree. This quest belongs in the Paladin guild not the Cleric guild.

You have to have A KINDLY Faction for this. Amiable is not high enough. Hail her then if she says something of the soil then give her the Dusts. If not keep handing in bones til it is high enough. It took me as a high elf 6 stacks to get the faction and you can usually buy the bone chips in Kaladim...

This is NOT the case as I just went there yesterday to start working on a couple pieces of Armor of Ro. The Priestess would not give me the quest until until I had KINDLY faction.

Now, whether or not you can turn the dusts in with amiable faction and still get the soil, I cant answer but would you really want to risk all the work to get these dusts only to have her keep them and say you arent ready yet?

Well it was over year since I posted, so maybe things have changed. But I know for sure that the first time I obtained some Underfoot Soil for my Ro Armour, I definitely conned amiable. No point me checking now though as I'm ally Smiley: grin

Actually you can buy Plat bars in Kaladim, enchanting shouldn't be too hard since BB is a porting zone.

i turned in the fairy dusts that i had and the stupid priestess said some crap. i didnt get soil. you need at least kindly to do this quest or when you hail her and talk, she HAS to give you the quest!!!

What a pain in the ass this is, I thought amiable faction was good enough. I went to the faerie camp in LfAY and got 4 dusts, went back to see Ghalea and gave her the 4 (individually, not stacked) and she said something like, "Clerics of the Underfoot have yet to see your faith directed towards our wills. Perhaps you should assist Master Gunlok Jure in the crusade against the undead". So I guess I'll have to give some bone chips to the Master for a bit to get kindly to her. And, If you go get the faerie dusts there in Lfay, get more than enough so you dont have to run back again like I did (thank god for Jboots), I got 8 last trip(if one group doesnt work, and or for another piece of Ro armor down the road). I suggest getting a full stack of dust and all the necessary ingriedients to the Ro armor production first, although this may be costly for the enchanted platinum bars and such. It helps in the long run so you dont have to run all over Norrath. Then just make them right in Kaladim.

Well, just went last night (with my Paladin) to turn in my Fairie Dusts and get the Soil. Turned in the first four and got one Soil (looks like a bag, but fits inside boxes & bags) and noticed that she said "I asked you for four Dusts" or something like that. Of course, that meant that someone had given her a spare dust, so I gave her three more. Checked my inventory and noticed... still only one Soil! Examined it and found that it was No Drop and Lore!

What is up with that? Isn't it hard enough to make Ronium as it is without having to go back to the Dwarves every time for each batch? After all, can't buy the Plat bars in Kaladim... and good luck getting them enchanted near there!

Oh well... off to Mistmoore next. Let's hope they haven't changed the Granite to Lore!

I was about to turn in my 4 Fairie Dust but only conned Apprehensive. The priestess was not impressed. I did turn in 8-9 stacks of Bone Chips to the guy in Paladin guild. See quests. I reached Kindly and got my Pouch of Soil of Underfoot. SoU is one of the ingridients for Ronium.

Soil of Underfoot is also part of the Ivy Etch Boot Quest.

Technically, soil of underfoot is needed for RONIUM. Ronium is needed for ivy etchet boots, along with all the paladin armor of ro quests...

What is the soil of underfoot. is it a usable item or is it a turn in type quest item? I want to know if my 15th cleric can use it.

It's a quest type item that you get after truning in 4 Fairie Dusts to a Cleric in the Cleric guild in Kaladim. Fairie Dust can be found in Lesser Faydark on Fairies...
