Hinge is still bogus

Quest is pretty straightforward as it was a decade ago. The hinge is by far the most annoying farm, while the Paladins are exceptionally annoying to find without a tracker.

Tip*** while farming the old gargoyle, root one on top of a roof and then darkness him. The gargoyle will summon you up so you can have a bird’s eye view of your prey. Took me one round of PH genocide to get the OG.

Good luck!

Pet info

Some infos about this clicky pet --

Max hit 286(Melee crit)
Kick 48
Bash 37
Total HP around 7~8K(rough estimate, should be one-rounded in SoF area anyway)
Proc - Servant of Blood strike(400 damage when proc then 400 damage per tick in next 18 secs). It procs the strike every 10 secs, recourse is 400 group heal.So about 1200 HP group heal this pet can produce.

About 5K damage output for a aggro-kiting NEC.Not bad...not bad...

Its also not listed that this Epic is not equippable till level 65.. I just finished my epic at lvl 62 and cant equip just yet . I collected all the items for prequest solo at 62. All the fights were done with 80 necro, 80 mage, 80 cleric and 62 necro. And yes I do mean all even Tarlang. Took me bout a week to collect all the items solo. then it took about 2 hours to do turn ins and do all fights. Innovation piece was the worst to get must have killed a Hundred A scrap Collectors. Another Necro epic emerges and Karana cries. Muwahahahaha

Started epic yesterday morning and finished it this afternoon, including 1.5 prequest. I didn't have any of the drops, got lucky with all of them except the damn Elaborate Hinge which I spent nearly 8 hours farming yesterday, only to come back today and get it in the first 20 min. If it wasn't for the Hinge, I would have finished 1.5 prequest and 1.5 in around 10 hours of play time. Had a bard help with the WW's for Prequest, and 5 peeps other then my 4 help for the final fight. Other then that the entire thing was done either solo or with my 4 (lvl 80 clr/mag/shm/nec) Final fight was done with 9, 79SK MT, 80 Druid, 80 clr/shm/war boxed, plus my 4. MT went down when mob was at 3%, Clr was down to 13% mana and waited a second to long to start healing. Good Luck to all you Necro's out there, this 1.5 is pretty dang easy compared to the other 2 I've worked on (mage completed, still working on Cleric)

I found there are more mobs then the 4 drexel listed that drop the zaxtril ore. I got some off a bloodguard near the bridge as well. I think any bloodguard can drop them as any crazed miner? I got my 4 ores after killing about 30 mobs if that? was good exp for leveling my pants up :p

Yes, certainly the 4 actual mobs themselves that I list are just the ones that dropped for me. My suspicion is that ANY "crazed miner" or ANY "Broken Skull Bloodguard" (including those at the bridge) have a chance of dropping them. Sorry if my write up implied those 4 exactly.

Grats Descending Essence of Luclin on completing 5 Necromancer epic 1.5s in one night. Now before too many folks go off on how minor of an accomplishment this is due to the 1 year since this expansion was released, Descending Essence is a very casual family guild. Raid consisted max at 39 toons of which 7 were boxed characters with a raid average of 67th level. Thanks to Jastrah for coming out and helping her friends in DE.

To give perspective on the guild, it has with the assistance of another guild just recently become elementally flagged so we are not a large raid guild, just a large guild.

For the folks whom are still working on this but believe that it is beyond the capabilities of your guild or that it is amazingly out of reach have faith. It may be out of your reach today, but with time and guildmates willing to help their friends, this epic is very obtainable. Good Luck to all working on it.

First off, if you have a guild capable of killing the mobs for the drops needed for this then your obviously not a soloer more of a hardcore raider .
solo nec's that agro kite and do pick up group bullsnaps don't have to worry cause you probably won't ever see this epic anyway.. don't trash talk something you can't have or understand cause if you did know how important it is for agro reducing then you would love this..Im not high end in any means more in a average raiding guild but we raid everyday and taking agro off the tank is a big no go noob act..you non raiding average joes just forget that 2.0 even exists and quit wasting postage space...
RE: Agro reducer 2.0
# Apr 19 2006 at 10:54 AM Rating: Default
Actually All but the last 2 fights of the necro 1.5 can be solo'd (And yes agro kited) although from his post it's pretty obvious that Hallucinationz is a 13 year old so i'm prolly just wasting my time even posting a reply, But if u know how to play your class in a group/raid situation you shouldn't be getting agro cuz u should be FD.... and if u think Agro kiting is somthing only low lvl necro's do then you should really just Deleate your necro, honestly maybe just quit playing all togeather

I did my prequest yesterday with some guild members.

After talking with the tank, he said the high end warewolf hit the hardest. He said all the other mobs were cake. (Warrior w/ 11k hps buffed and 1900 ac).

For the warewolves I had everyone run to the side of the hill due South of the NPC. I hailed the NPC and FD immediately. I was watching from the hill w/ my 2-boxed Shammy. The warewolves came from the East and stopped right on top of me. The Bard came up and did an AE to get all of their attention. He kited them around in circle and we picked out the lvl 69 warewolf. Druid got the lvl 69 warewolf's attention and pulled to camp. Bard ran the others off somewhere and faded them off.

After reading the post above, I was under impression the 69 warewolf is immune to magic. Not the case. I was 2-boxing a Shammy and tried to slow 6 times with Cloud of Grummus (disease). even after Malos and Necro disease debuff. Never landed. Just for the heck of it I tried Turgur's and it partially landed. I was also able to land life tap nukes (magic based). My poison nuke was only hitting for 500 instead of the normal 2k so that is when I decided to try my life tap nuke and it was hitting for 1300 to 1500.

To help with the melee, I had the Shammy in the same group with the Bard, Warrior and Monk. He kept them buffed with Spirit of Leopard (69 DoN melee proc).

Configuration: Warrior, 3 Clerics, Druid, Bard, Monk, 2 Chanters (one botted), Botted Shammy and me (Necro). All toons were 69 to 70 and only the botted toons are time geared. All others are OoW/DoN at best.

Definately bring a tracker with you!

Start to finish it took us just over an hour. Good grief I spent over two days camping the Herbalist and never got that drop! ***** the duck stick!

Two more fights to go!

just a note
Quote:
Five of A Snarling Werewolf spawn (are all five named the same?). Four are level 67-68, hit for 600, are mezzable but immune to melee. One is 69+, hits for 1200 (and this increases as its health drops), is unmezzable and is magic-resistant. You have 30 minutes to kill them all. Once they're all dead, the last one says...

On the werewolf fight there is no need to kill the four blue wolves just the higher lvl one, killing him will spawn the shady bandit clear accross the zone south of the wolves.

When you hand in the note the wolves will come running from the east so just run west the second you hand in the note no need to FD at least i never did with only run 4.

Singling them is simple and no need for bard for this once you get a certain distance between you and any of the wolves they will stop running after you and just stand there, they DO NOT go back to a spawn point. So the way i do it as to not get summoned or have the 4 lower ones near where we will fight is: have your group a ways away to the west of Yuanda, turn in note and immediately run west (doesnt have to be very far really), cast a NO DAMAGE spell like resist debuff on first one then run them far away like near NK zoneline or something i had 4th viewpoint so i could see them to select different ones while running snare each of the blue ones after id say 10 seconds he will have gotten far enough out of range he will stop running for you (unless you get back in range of him getting out of range makes them stop coming for you but does NOT clear agro) rinse repeat on next 3 till all you have left is the red/yellow one take back to your group and FD near them without being too close to have him smack the casters and tank can agro him anytime to start the fight he can be a little resistant to mag and fire when he wants, dont think i got any BoT's to ever land so may be immune to it got FPOK and DN to land ok esp DN after tash and i just stacked kiss and FOD on had ok tank but bkp healer is usually wanted. Easy fight no need for bard to do it all for you Nec can split them very very easily they dont resist snare or even root hardly at all but i prefer snare for the 2 minutes where root is unpredictable and shorter duration.

As for the pally fights get someone with high MR yes bard is good of course for this but others have a ton these days too, then have them kite pally around have them run them just within range of you to get lifetap dot(s) on it then just FD while dots take their toll "/rinse repeat" watch out for him changing agro to you when you stand to redot like this for the obvious reason of he will beat on you but also they seem to have a buggy thing of losing agro because of distance your kiter will get from him when he stops to running after him and gets on you then they take off running at high speed to who knows where, so just have your kiter make sure to stay near pally if he agros to you when you go to reDOT then FD again yadda yadda (lifetap dots are the only ones i could get to land most of the time so started not even bothering with anything else for it was a waste of mana)

GL and happy hunting, I am at last 1.5 fight and dreading it from the posts i see about how hard he hits 8(

As of yesterday's patch, I've noticed that the description now says 6 min recast instead of 10.

Also, the pet lasts a shorter duration as well, haven't timed it yet but I can tell it definitely is shorter.

Prequest & Epic Pet

From my observation the pet lasts one minute regardless of how hard it is hit. It heals everytime it casts and though not a lot it has made a tremendous difference in my groups. They love it when he is used and he is usable every 10 minutes. He only hits around 20 to 50 but he is really there for healing. I even used him in PVP which was a nice bonus to heal me as we fought. If you have other AA's they both won't work one cancels the other out at least it has when I tried to stack them.

Prequest to 1.5, I know this has been a long time coming sorry. Guild keeps me busy. I was going to complete 1.0 but a friend encouraged me to do the prequest. When I first read it I felt it was tougher than 1.0 and 1.5. To my amazement it really wasn't if you have the right people.

Warewolves - Bard is a MUST! Hail and FD have the Bard kite them very far away and send one back to bind. Chanter mez engage and kill. Rinse and repeat. We did this twice cause I screwed up my turn in so don't forget to drop invis and be a dummy Necro like me! Worked the same both times by round two we were efficent. Wee have 1 Cleric, 2 Chanter, 1 Bard, 1 Tank, 2 Necro's and 2 Rangers. Not sure I needed more than a group but my guild is killer with helping so more the merrier. Be prepared to die a lot in the prequest as the hailing Necro bind close to save time.

All the other mobs really are one groupable in the prequest. We at times had more just cause people wanted to come.

1.5 heads up! Paladin quest is rough because they stun. That means as a Necro you probably can't kite them efficiently. A druid probably isn't gonna be able to stay alive due to stuns. A bard is who I used. He had trouble holding agro but he was able to survive the stuns. So basically we had 1 Bard, 2 Rangers and myself. I died a ton just due to getting agro and being stunned. Otherwise it was easy. I bound close, popped back rezed and rejoin the fight. One Paladin is very tough with at on of hit points he was the hardest but definitely doable! Rangers really help in all the fights due to the range dps they can provide.

GOD fight, I never lived to see how it was done. I died every single time I hailed. We failed the first time due to lacking my dps. A wizzie came to replace me since we knew I would die. 1 group easily did him then.

Final fight what a bite!!!! If you could hold him in one place you could disk and win as our raid leaders screams at the top of his lungs!!!! You can't so he easily rapes your raid. Don't even attempt this without 40+ standard geared POP progressed people. Probably less if your well geared elementally and raid a lot together. Key is keeping up the tank period. Without a tank he simply rapes each person till your gone. Hail and FD, Tank arrowed him to the raid and we fought him on the pathway not in the round ring that was cleared. We tried to use the zone wall to keep him at least in one area. Get your CH line going well before the tank engages or the quads will one round him and it is over. Have stand by tanks to engage and hope your heal line is fast enough to recover to the next tank. Disk, heal and hope for the best. We failed once, won once, failed three times and won once more. We now have two epic Necros in the guild. By the last two times we had gotten a lot better and I think we could do him the first time now. Oh and most important have your Chanters run a rune line it made the whole event possible.

This is just my experience, my guild is elemental access but not elementally geared up yet. So we are sporting decent POP progression gear and some elemental. No GOD but a few OOW pieces. I think when you read that time geared did this and that it leaves you without hope. You can do it without time geared people you just have to have numbers, patience and diligence!

Anyone have both weapons 1.0 and 1.5? I was thinking that if you went back and finished 1.0 after getting 1.5 it would be possible, however who would want to use that old duck stick with the sucky stats. Only reason I can think is the mana-free snare.
1.0 and 1.5
# Dec 04 2006 at 6:55 AM Rating: Decent
I have my 1.0 and am working 2 kills from 1.5 :D i NEVER use the duckstick though :D the snare is less % at my level (68) and also it has a 9 second cast time :( takes entirely too long considering my snare for 68 casts in 3 sesconds and the 63 snare also in 3 seconds ... the 248 mana cost is nothing off of my 6k mana with my lich ... not trying to flame or anything :D but if you are at the level to get the 1.5 then then the 1.0 is just for show *FLEX* :) it meant alot to me to finish my year and a half long quest for the 1.0 :D and now im less then a month into my 1.5 and almost finished with it :D so keep faith to all of you who are trying to get epiced :D

I personally love the graphic. It is extremely distinguishable. As for the pet it works on mine used it last night in fire. I haven't looked at the other classes epic but if I had to guess we got some of our mana nerfed to offset out lich abilities. But that is only my personal thought.

This 1.5 is exactly on par with the other 1.5 epics as far as mana and hps goes. It was not gimped down in anyway. You are comparing this 1.5 to other 2.0 epics like so many other people are.

it seems that necro's 1.5 has far less mana/hp then the other 1.5's. Look at the SK's. They get like 400mana, chanters get 350 i think. so how come we get 200? And has the pet even been fixed yet?
