cha only helps necro's sell for more plat silly ppl.. other than that look for sta and int stuff, more hp and more mana are more important to a necro that any other stat save maybe str to pack all the loot with you to sell off after u wipe out a zone a few times :O)
CHA is not important to a Necro at all. It has nothing to do with successful fear or spell hits. I am a 61 Iksar necro and my CHA is 18. Very very rarely does my fear not hit or my spells get resisted. If CHA were necessary for this to be true then I would still be level 8. Please don't steer upcoming necros the wrong way. Fellow bonecasters ***** CHA, build that mana pool. However, things do cost quite a bit more at the vendor.
Actrully CHA doesn't effect fear at all, weither you have high or low cha ;p This has been stated before by the programers, and most reccently at the Dallas Fan Fair. Does effect charm a little, but not much.
Zaranil is absolutely correct. I was at the Fan Faire and heard it directly from Lawrence Poe's mouth. CHA does NOT effect fear at all and it also does NOT effect necro charms...it DOES have a minor effect on chanter charms.
Second...Fear/Charm are determined by the magic resistance of the mob...I would have hoped that it had gotten out enough that people didn't still believe the whole chr schtick...
And the person has a point...just go buy Coldain Skin Gloves...they look exactly the same..like leather (redish on Euridite female btw)

Low charm does not help fears. I have 10 charm, and for a long time actually had items that gave me 95 charm. (yeah yeah)
Heck, I have not even noticed a difference with my screaming terrors and charm undead (using thrall of bones) when I put my charm gear on vs. my stat gear. I hang out in HS and 6r a lot, since I like to nuke, and sometimes charm adds. I also am obsessed with using ST to interrupt spells when possible and no matter what combination of items I use, I can see no difference. Granted, I am level 59, so most things I fight that these lines of spells can be used on are blue, sometimes green, but I think it is worth mentioning. I look dead sexy in my square helm, netted kelp, epic, hotr, and warlocks pieces though.

What is this a plus to charisma on a Necro only item it cant be so :o . I may be able to stop carrying 3 empty bags just to put all my equipment in when i want to sell or buy stuff off vendors.

The higher a necro's cha is acutally makes some of his/her spells LESS effective. So adding a +cha to a necro item actually makes it worse, the +cha on this item of course is ment to balance out the rest of the amazing stats.

In 51 levels I've never noticed CHA effecting fear
I can't count the number of times I've switched INT/Mana gear for CHA gear to sell, and forgotten to switch back before I returned to hunting/camping.
With a difference of over 30 CHA, I've never once noticed any change in the resist rate or durration of my Fear spells. Considering the increase with this gear is more than 50%, if it had any effect, it should be quite noticable.
As a 51 Necro, i have experimented with cha gear. I found no significant change on fear spells. The charm line did improve slightly with higher cha. This testing was by no means extensive or highly scientific. I tested with a 25 cha then bumped up to 117 cha. I was casting on the undead in BW - level 35-40ish skeletons.
My 2cp. BTW Castersrealm posted in the FAQ that Cha has NO effect on Fear spells.
charm is the only line of spells that cha effects at all. so a +cha item for necros isnt all that useful, but it helps their charm undead. all those -cha items are just their to take up space since a necro almost never uses charm so cha isnt important to them
Fear is based on the level of the mob your fighting and that mobs MR, aswell as random bad/good luck. Cha has no effect on it at all, I have 75cha and have been as low as 50, there were no differences in success rate of fear.
