Runed Protector's Helm  

 

Have anyone ever seen an Erudite with a customized helm? i myself am an erudite paladin but did not yet had the luck to win the helm.... got BP, but no helm ) BP looks awesome btw (not to mention that i can cast a spell with it which i normaly could cast only with lvl 60, and im only 55) ;-)

OK, I just won the roll on the Corroded Helm today.. Now for the Crushed Coral, but this is not the problem.. erm, are you guys suggesting I keep the boring old look on the helm or turn it in & get the new looks?............ I'm a female Half Elf Paladin.. how BAD does it actually look like?

It took me a very long time to find this information, seems most websites were very unhelpfully as to how to get the graphic for the Velious Quest helms. From what I understand, each city has an npc that you give your helm to and he will give you a new one with the new graphic. And I only know the npc in Thurgadin.

His name is Royal Armourer Slade and he is actually in Icewell Keep. To find him was fun too from the directions I was given. Here are some pretty simple directions.

Once you enter Icewell Keep, run straight in, go through the gate and continue straight untill you run into a cylinder of ice(you will know it when you see it, rather large in the center of the room). To your right there are is a hall with stairs leading up, take them. One that next floor, as soon as you get up the stairs, turn left and there will be another hall with stairs to your left, go up those. Know you are on the floor that the armour is on. Run up to the Throne and there will be a hall to your left, leading to a small room with trophy heads on the wall of different animals and Royal Armour Slade is in that room. Hail him and he offers his services. /say What services? And he explains. Then just give him your helm, and there you have it, your new and improved (graphically) helm. Be warned though, some of the graphics look like crap. I'm a Half elf Paladin and I am very disappointed with the graphic, yet I still did the quest knowing what I was getting.

This requires a Corroded plate Helm from the giants near the arena in Kael Drakkal and 3 crushed corals. At least on a human female, it has no graphic whatsoever like a Crown of the Froglock Kings, etc.
Personally, I still carry my Deepwater helm around for those situations when I need to squeeze out as much AC as I can. But for 90% of the time I wear this helm now for the extra stats for only a 2AC tradeoff. Also, I can't tell you how great it is to be rid of that wretched human Buckethead! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, it's all about fashion baby!
