oooh! ZING! But I seriously like this helm ^.^

Yeah, so many times i've had to rely on the cleric for scouting a zone and pulling mobs.....so many times....and I, as a ranger, have NEVER considered myself a scout...i mean, if they made a sequel and called it Everquest 2, its not like they are gonna make rangers a sub class of a larger group called "Scout".....wait, i have an idea. Lets make a sword and call it Blade of Ice, and then have a proc on it that doesn't do cold damage, but poison damage....cause that would make as much sense as a so-called "Issued Scout's Helm" that a freakin scout cant use. Sorry for the rant but OMFG a ranger is prolly the ONLY class in EQ1 that should ever be called a scout. Yes, others pull, bards/druids get track....but grrrr
Or MAYBE, just perhaps, this is a helmet that is issued to those who scout for the MURKGLIDERS (hiveguards)? And perhaps, being alien squid creatures, their scouts wear plate helmets.
Or alternately, lets complain about every item that says "war" in its name, and is not warrior only, or even warrior usable in some cases.
Then there was that Spiroc Healer's cloak. What? wearable only by rangers??? In what way could a ranger be considered a healer?
Or you could enjoy the game, and not freak out that the word "scout" is used in the name of an item.
Or alternately, lets complain about every item that says "war" in its name, and is not warrior only, or even warrior usable in some cases.

I think you mentioning about the war not being warrior usable and healers cloak being ranger only just adds to his rant that many things in eq are not logical.
Point is, it drops off a spiroc healer. Its not necessarily an item FOR a healer.
There ase so many things in EQ1 that are named something they are not. How many weapons have the word lightning in the title but the weapon has absolutly nothing to do with lightning or even a storm - in fact they won't even have a proc of any kind.
How about the "Crackling ring of lightning" the effect it has is Vengeance 1 - raises your attack by 5 points. and about the only thing it has to do with "Crackling Lightning" is that it comes from the plane of storms.
I could go on talking about this forever and not a darn thing would happen except i would waste a ton of time. If you want something changed dont use your energy up here. In the game there is a button you can push called FEEDBACK. Send your thoughts there.
If enough of us send in feedback on a given subject they will have to react in some form. While i dont see them renameing stuff or adding provs and or effects to stuff already out there perhaps they will keep it in mind for the next expansion. Imagine some weapon or piece of gear that has lightning in the name and it actualy sends a lightning bolt shooting thru the enemy. . . .
