does anyone actually have Kobold listed in their skills? I have "unknown language" learned purely by accident (see previous post in this thread).
Over the last few days I've equiped the stone on some yoinger toons with no extra languages and then trained them and noted the power increases on the charm. I could only do this for 23 of the languages as I do not have Dragon and Elder Dragon yet.
There was one surprise in that Old Erudian did not give a power up.

The +10 stats for the charm are now at +8 without the 2 Dragons which will take it to +10.
Also note that with none of the languages mastered you still get +6 to HP mana and End.

I did not get a bump in power with thieves cant but did get a bump in power from Old Erudian. Otherwise your post is correct.
I have all the languages mastered and it now gives me all the stats indicated above.

If you see a purple Iksar SK called Noddie running around, hail him and ask for Dragon & Elder Dragon.
I used a few training points to put 2 into each language and then trained all of them to 100 with my brothers chanter so he could max out the charm.

there were 26 langs ....all thinking its giant its not that is now combine.....dark elvish is what was tier'dal and the final one kobold which was the 26th language was removed they just havent updated this piece for the language change......and yes there is human but that is common tongue on servers that dont have human =-) good day and good hunting to you all.

that post on Crucible is wrong.. there is no *secret* language... Human (on rp servers) is Common Tounge on other servers.. period..

Thank you SO much for spreading the word. While I'm a hyrbrid and can't use the stone, I do have all langs maxxed and help guildies out skiling them up.
I know a wizzie whose gonna be glad to hear the news. =)

I have A Question How Can You Learn The Languages Like Goblin and gnoll?
Go & visit each guild master for your class in each city you are not KOS in, then use 1 training point for each language not in your repertoire. My character has 22 languages in her list by doing just that.
Anyone know if there is a version of this for other classes?

Can somebody verify the existence of a 26th language and more importantly post exactly how to get it?
I made an iksar shaman and did not see the language "Dark Tongue" available (suggested in an earlier post), only Dark Speech. If it really exists, it would be nice if the person posted how they obtained it.
The rumor about obtaining the "Akheva" language also sounds great, but again without any information about how to obtain it, why bother?

There is a 26th language. It's called "a unknown tongue" but it has no effect on the charm.
I have 26 languages at 100 skill as do two of my friends. The charm is still +9/+72 for all of us.

i know this might be a silly ? to most but i am new at game....how do u get up the lang skill..i got the charm given to me and i would really like to get stats up because they would really help out my toon...ty
As I said in a previous reply you can get to learn the languages by visiting your guild masters in each of the cities you are not KOS in.
That said you'll only have 1 or so points in each language - now you need to get a friend to group with you & let the training begin.
Set a hotkey up with the social:
/lan x
/gs A little sentance to spam your friend.
(where x is the number of the language to learn - type /lan help to find which numbers your languages are assigned to)
Now just keep hitting that hotkey & spam you friend - if he/she does the same back you can both learn a language from 1 point to 100. The other method is to be spammed by someone already a master in that language - you learn it from them spamming you.

It used to be that you had to zone after getting to 1 point more than the teacher in order to teach the teacher (thereby zoning every 2 points on whoever is behind, and alternating gaining two points each per zone) ... I take it you don't still need to do this? :)

I have an Iksar shaman who knows Dark Tongue, as well as Dark Speech- maybe Dark Tongue is the missing 26th language. My 38 druid (on Tarew Marr) has the heartstone and is at +7 stats, still missing a few languages

Perhaps this could all be put to rest if the original poster of the information was contacted to see if the tainted heartstone still gives them the stats that are listed here. If they do then they can shed some light possible on how they got it, if not then Alla can just modify the info to show the new correct info. /lang 1-25 shows languages, after that nothing. I would guess that there was a language that has been removed so that max stats are no longer allowed.
From a programming point of view, you have to have a 26th language for the one that is not on many servers. On Firiona Vie, we do not have a "Common" tongue. The 25th on FV is "Human". On other servers, this is listed as "common". Now, as to other languages, they would need to be the 27th or 28th or...
My point is, when you write programs, you use numbers and arrays. Language(1) would be elf, L(2) would be Dwarf, and so on. You have to have a seperate slot for Common and Humna, because the two languages are differant.
(of course I could be totally full of bat guano)

i think you guys are missing the point
maxed stats posted are for humans who BTW only start with common
any other race starts with another language so it wouldn't be uncommon for them to have it and there by they wouldn't get a stat increase from it

The 26th language is called "an unknown language" but it does not increase the stats and I have no idea how to get it. Got it from a friend who got it from a friend etc. So therefore either the max stats show on this site are wrong or there is a 27th language.
I think SOE removed the requirement of having to have one skill point in a language before you could "learn by teaching". Friends of mine claim they bootstrapped "an unknown language" from scratch.

I see many people say they have 26 languages, but, no one has listed all 26. If there is a 27th No one seems to know what it is. I have 25 languages learned and don't have this item. I learned them because I wanted to. Now I want the heartstone. If anyone can list there 26 or even 27 languages (those that have said they have 26 anyway) Please do so we are all obviously curious.

KOBOLD was removed from the game back around kunark era when Giant was changed to Combine. But I am also in search of the mysterious 26th language if it exists. It's been reported that not only was it removed as a quest, but also removed from the players skills as well, meaning they no longer can speak or teach it. It simply exists no more.

OK I love doing quests, and I love figuring out a problem! I think I have a clue to what we need to do next, I know what the language is, but I don't know how to get it! The language is: KOBOLD

soulswagon has the right of it. I have a character that had Kobold but when they changed it, it was indeed removed.

what about the language spoken by those alien-looking mobs on Luclin? Shak Dratha or whatever they're called. I'm pretty sure I got a few points in that language when fighting them (or was it maybe lesser shades?) in shadeweaver's with a vah shir alt of mine a long time ago...

I'm not sure if someone in Trader mode made a mistake ,but I purchased this last night in Bazaar for only 200pp.

Tonight i put my adventurers stone in it and saw the stats go up to +10 ac, +10 to cha wis int and agi, and 84 to hp mana and end, what surprised me is i also had +1 for str, dex and sta, it also has +12 to all saves except poison. Of course i dont have my adventurers stone maxed out with enough adventures in all the ldon zones to max it however i am thinking that the stats here are not correct completely because as you do more ldons in other zones i think they will go up a bit higher just a guess but i did see a big change when i put my adventurers stone in so no there is not a 26th language just put your adventurers stone in and if you have done enough ldons you will reap those rewards on this. Not worth the effort to learn the languages i say NOT this has better stats than the intricate wooden figureine. I dont know which are the uncommon languages so i just learned them all didnt take long at all.

We put this on a friend's high-elf enchanter with nothing unusual mastered. He then mastered Elder Elvish and got no stats. He then mastered Goblin and got 1's and +6 HP/Mana. He then mastered Dragon and got the same hit, totalling 2's and +12 HP/Mana.
So I'm not sure about the poster who saw a boost, but perhaps it differs by race? High Elves start out with some elder elvish but not mastery, so perhaps it differs? Not sure, as the poster was an erudite and presumably auto-knew some old Erudin. Hmmm

I also just get the 9/11/72 on both my 43 shaman and 37 chanter, but that's ok, it's still very nice for a 500pp purchase. Just overheard some people in PoK saying it was the booby prize of WoS. I asked one if he had one and had mastered the languages (he was a lvl 8 BST). He replied "Heck no, not gonna waste my time. I don't do the language thing". Obviously, I had no more to say to the fool. Let them keep the price low, lol.

Personally, I think everyone is overlooking 1 nice little fact. This is an item that has a recommended lvl of 60, but you get the full stats before then. I have this on my lvl 37 necro and he has the infamous 9/11/72. There is no 26th or 27th language as of now, if there was dont you think someone would have found it? Anyway, for anyone looking here (and have gotten this far down) to see if this item is worth getting, I say yes. Where else can a lvl 1 character get 9 to most stats, 11 to most resists, and 72 hp and mana for maybe an hour's worth of learning languages?
