Gates of Discord
There is no line in the effect description limiting this to spells with minimum duration, or to instant spells only.
I would expect this increases damage for both disease dots and disease nukes.
Either way, the effect would only be good for a shaman or necro as stated below. My druid would love the mana regen, and avoidance can be nice. But the effect would be wasted on him.

Effect seems to be changed to "Bazu Plague" recently with an overall stats upgrade, check screenshot here for confirmation.

No future disease nukes listed for shammies or necros. Disease dots yes, Chaos Plague for necro. Unsure on shammies, but they do get a disease dot. Even so disease is the weakest of the necro lines, but if they made this primary the ONLY disease dot enhancer, there are other pieces that have a discordant focus on Fire, Magic and Poison already, and it might be worth bidding on.
As it is, the enchanters with the discordant clarity focus on their robes are already lining up for it in my guild :/ Worse, they can have it. In its current form its USELESS to me.

Actually you need to keep in mind that with the new expansion Omens of War commingshortly , there will be new spells up to lvl 70, so accroding to this Focus Effect: incresing damage dome with Disease direct damage , I would think at least 1 of the class listed above will have one Disease DD by that time ... so I would say make research 8) have a ncie journey
Stupidest piece of loot ever apart from Jennu's Robe of Creation (sorry mages, it was late in the programming department, the necros should have got the fire dot focus, so I havent seen any mages bidding on their aweseom GoD robe for the dot effect yet :0).
No one on the list for this little toy gets a disease NUKE apart from the lvl 60 gangrenous touch of Zumuul for necros, and even lower level for shammies. Great! I will be casting GToZ a lot NOT! Now if it was for DOTS I might bid on it, THAT would be useful. WTG Sony!!
