Chapter 1

Assembling Your Scout

Building a clockwork scout can be hard work for those who are not mechanically inclined but if you are reading this that means you have already finished the most difficult part. All that's left to do is put the pieces together by taking the following steps.

1. Find a flat dry area to lay out your tools and components

2. Make sure you have one each of the following: an inactive clockwork scout module, an extended life power pack, a power pack adapter, and a clockwork output gearbox.

3. Take the extended life power pack, power pack adapter, and clockwork output gearbox and place them in their properly marked places inside the scout module.

4. Hit the activation button and watch it come to life.

Chapter 2

Accessing Your Scout

Now that you have a working clockwork scout you must complete its activation by using the correct access code. By default the code is 040703. Entering this code is done through the use of voice recognition technology, a Cogswin family patent. If you turn to your scout and say "access code 040703" the clockwork scout should react to you, the new owner.

If your scout malfunctions in any way, please return to Vaifan and tell her "the scout was faulty" and she will replace your items free of charge. Under no circumstances should you attempt to operate a faulty scout. Doing so could lead to grievous bodily harm.
