If I remember right you can buy these in Ak'Anon at one of the mage vendors. Seems like I got all of my research items there, not words or spells, just the last ingrediant, like Scent of Marr, Breath of Solusek, Blood of Velious, ect.
Found it on one of the EE in Gorge of King Xorbb. I think it was one of the Lord versions of the EE's.
And I've heard you can get as much as 35pp for it if the Mage is desperate.

Like on my earlier post I do believe these can be store bought and even if they arnt I would never DREAM of a lvl 60 magician asking for more than 15pp each. Maybe 35pp per STACK, but definetly not 35pp for a single item that is for researching a spell that is for the 30ish levels

Alright now I am not sure if I got lucky but at the caster guild in Katta Castellum on the 3rd floor I bought 20 of these flames off a merchant and it seemed she had more. Like I said I dont know if I got lucky or if she has an unlimeted amount of them, but please check it out if you need some
P.S. Katta Castellum is on Luclin. Check out Eqatlas.com for directions. At lvl 30 I made it through all the zones un-touched with invis and at Shar Vahl I got a sow for the mountains zone which is extremely dangerous. It is a 50+ zone and most mobs can see invis

I have found it on golra island in TD, it seems to be rare here too since i got one off of 300 golras... However Golra Island is a great place for any mage at level 30!

It also dropped from a Shin Ghoul knight in lower guk. it seems to be a rare drop there, because I killed around 100 frogs already and saw it only once.
I've gotten 2 of them in High Keep off off Various warrior room gobbo's

I looted this off a ry gorr oracle in CC
droped off of a lvl 20 gnoll just inside of lake rathear by the SK zone

I found 2 of these last night in Rathe Mountains near the Lake Rathe zone while killing Cyclops. Dropped twice on about 20 cyclops kills
