When I did the Divine Might quest, I found and purchased one from Brisla Fyrestone in FV. FV is not listed as a place it is sold, however.

That usally happens when someone sells it to the npc. If there is an unlimited quantity than the npc sells it, if not the npc is reselling something someone else sold to the npc.

I have been searching and searching for info on a 'Chipped Fire Emerald' I picked up somewhere.. it's been so long ago but Im thinking it was in Crystal Caverns. The 'Chipped Fire Emerald' I picked up has +2STR, +2DEX on it & weighs same as usual gems, but I have never seen a gem with stats on it before it is made into jewelry. Does anyone have an idea what it's used for ? Will it make some special item with Jewelcraft ? Any help is greatly appreciated as this thing has been in my bank for close to 5 months.
These gems may not be usable in jewelry, but they CAN be used while INSIDE CrystalCaverns. If you drop one in the first inventory slot, your stats change to reflect the stone's attributes.
Cannot recall at the moment if this interfered with food and drink attributes. It may have stacked if you had the stone first. But I cannot swear to this part. Only that they DO WORK if you are in CC zone.
Also, the merchants pay handily for them... :)

Well, i have found many chipped Gems, off the geonids in CC zone... None of th egems i have found (apparently) are used for any of the Thur, or keal armor quests (velious)... These Gems Do have stats of thier own. For instance, a chipped black sapphire is <i believe> 1 ac 10 mana and 10HP. The quest gems i have for armor DO NOT HAVE STATS. Enchanted gems?? Maybe (hehe hopefully =) adding even more stats to certain jewelry? haven't had the guts to try yet. =P
Anyway, this is a list of the gemstones i have acquired.

Wouldn't you think a strong warrior would love to carry as many of these things as possible caues of it's low wieght? And just imagine how much pp he could get from selling these things to other players if he had a bunch of em. :P And it says class:all so it's for everyone, not just monks :)

I have found that finding these is not easy... well... actually... IT IS! Instead of going to a shop that sells all different kinds of gems, go to one that sells bars or metal, and jewlry kits. They have some of the more odd gems, like Fire Emeralds, and Star Rubies...

You can buy the fire emerald from the male jeweler in cabilis. the female has regular emeralds.

Try killing sarnacks in Lake of Ill Omen and the Overthere, they can drop all sorts of gems, the higher level ones have better drops, and conveniently raises faction in Cabillis too =)

Doesnt really seem a quest when you have to buy the fire emerald from vendor. Doesnt anyone know where to get these fire emeralds other than buying them.
Paying over 100pp per piece of Dreadscale at 24th level(by purchasing the stones) has been the toughest part of this series of quests for me. Yes...I know there are some rare drops on rare spawns that will be very difficult to locate. I'm just hoping that I will have the cash to buy the jewels when the time comes.

Okay this item is need for a number of Quests for Iksars so heres where to get one. You need to go to The Overthere which means travelling trough the agro territory of the Warslik Woods. Once you reach The Overthere you need to go to the Docks and find Tin Merchant IV (Loc 2634 2525) who sells all types of Gems. You can expect to pay anywhere from 85pp-109pp for the Fire Emerald depending on your charisma. Good Luck.

Is anyone positive this needs to be a FIRE emerald and not a regular emerald for the torch of alna. I have looked every where for a fire emerald and can not find one. only regular emeralds. I know all the venders that sell gem from internet sites. The only place i have not checked is Erudin. please help on exact locations if you know.

You can get one from the merchant of the Sparkling Glass in Kelethin for about 106pp.

You can get them from almost any merchant that sells bars. I said almost because I'm not very sure if EVERY merchant that sells bars sells Fire Emeralds. So please don't hold it against me. )

I have perchased 2 of these for my 2 Ivy brecers. I am a wood elf and I bought my first in Kelethin. It cost 196pp at the jewelry shop. The second I bought in Freeport and it cost 206pp. Faction makes a big difference.

Elder Granitebacks in Stonebrunt Mountains drop these occasionally. For Rangers looking for bracers, you can start fear kiting animals here from 30 on up to 40 or so.

I know first hand that high level dungeons will sometimes rarely drop these gems. the only one i have seen in person is Old Sebilis. any of the creatures in the zone can drop the fire emeralds. but i wouldnt suggest going here till at least 45+, most people will want to wait till 49th. so if your looking for an easy place to get them for free, there isnt one. its not even that easy to get here, buecause its just randomly droped off mobs
