Dropped today
# Dec 21 2006 at 10:07 PM Rating: Decent
Dropped today, indeed now a 2 second cast, can be cast from inventory slot(doesnt need to be worn).

Won it as only usable class and very happy. Dropped from silverflank shiverback which doesnt hit too hard, was able to tank(65nec about 5300hp vict/self buffed) with cleric healing.

not to wear
# Jan 26 2004 at 3:42 AM Rating: Decent
what is with you people, this belt is not to be worn, it sits in your inventory for when you need to call your pet back, there are way better belts for any of the listed classes to be worn
Item changed
# Mar 21 2003 at 9:21 AM Rating: Excellent
This belt dropped yesterday for us in TR.
The casting time is now 2.0 seconds, not instant. And I believe it was changed from 'Recommended' to 'Required' lvl 51. Will send in an updated screenshot later today.

# Sep 04 2003 at 12:07 PM Rating: Good
I confirm the change.
Casting time 2.0 vrs Ribbon of Empathy at 4.0. And is "required" .
Better for who?

I just love how all the people of a certin clas claim "x item is better for (my class)". This item is not better for EITHER class! It's excellent for BOTH classes, hence why it is available to both classes. And for those that say 40hp does not make a difference at this level, you're right, BUT 10 items with 40hp each might save your butt someday. Mages use T Rods, Necros Lich, so...it's good for both. Now, stop posting how every item is only good for your class, and start to see the big picture.

Thanks,
the best use for this item...

the best use for this item is if your on a raid that doesnt want to fight their way in to the place they are headed the mag/nec can have their pet sit at the zone and then summon them when they get to the spot that they need to go and then with out using mana they can summon their pet to them plus it saves a spell gem slot

umm in order to not fight through a zone you would be invis and in that matter umm pets die so summoning them is not neccesary now if the pet bolted after a mob then this belt would be a great use for the owner

You don't have to be invis to not fight your way through a zone. You could have yourself CotH into place.

Your pet dies if you get CoHed. The ability you want is called suspend minion.

well not really. you can't summon a pet if it's engaged in battle. at least you can't with the "summon companion" spell. i imagine it's the same for the belt, no?
#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 12 2004 at 10:45 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You can if you have pet hold.
5k?

One dropped in a group with no usable classes, the rogue (me) won. I gave it to a necro in Guild, he was very happy, lol. This is better for necros than for mages IMO.

Better for necros? whatever. I am a mage and I use this item constantly, more for the effect than the stats, but the stats are nice. To a non mage/necro one could sell this item for around 5-10k. But me, since I use this and love it, I wouldnt give this item up for a million pp
Usable from Inventory?

Anyone know if this is usable from inventory? Baby bear gets lost far too often :P
Mage
# Jun 13 2002 at 5:02 PM Rating: Default
Just wanted to point out that 40 hp to mage is more mana than it is to necro. T-Rods are the most efficient use of mana as far as generating more, there are numeruos threads on this. With a trained group that knows what they're doing its like 100 mana a tick off T-Rods, beats the @_* outta liching. But its a great item to whoever gets it.
RE: Mage
# Jun 17 2002 at 7:23 AM Rating: Decent
"T-Rods, beats the @_* outta liching." ? apparently you have no idea what you are talking about.

lvl 56 T-rod Costs 400mana to cast and generates
660mana for 900hp (3 charges of 220mana for 300hp)
660-400 = 260mana

Arch lich costs 1mana to cast and generates
35mana for 53hp each tick(6sec)
for 900hp you will get: (900/53) x 35 = 594mana

now what seems best to you ?.
Im not saying the rods suck, but comparing to the lich series it doesnt stand a chance in hp/mana efficiency

I'm pretty sure that liching is better than Troding (though you forgot that specialization and spell casting mastery makes the ratio a bit better) but I would think that the effect on this is why most mages would find it an essencial part of their weaponry. Necroes would just want it for the stats.
Anyway it doesn't matter who it's best for. Any group that had this drop and wouldn't allow one of the classes that can use it to roll on it would be damn fools.

Now that's just plain silly. Why would one pet-centric class (mage) have a greater or lesser need than another pet-centric class (necro) concerning the effect?

Unloved, 61 human necro, The Rathe
#REDACTED, Posted: Sep 04 2002 at 12:26 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) well my guild gave it to me (necro) over mage /shrug it will serv its porpose in any class thats why its mage necro usable so get over it i could care less i got mine
Spawns

Spawns in the right hand corner of the TR
Hits for about 230.
Had two spawn on the trot, both dropped belts. so looks like this is the only drop..

MONK!
# May 23 2002 at 4:42 PM Rating: Default
Looks like a good monk item.
RE: MONK!
# Jun 03 2002 at 3:58 PM Rating: Default
I am certain he was joking as a monk can't even use it. However, that leaves 2 classes that this item would be best for, Necros and Mages. Choosing between them, I would have to go with necro as HPs are FAR more valuable to a Liching necro, and the added 40HPs would make extremely little difference to a mage that was getting beaten on at the level required to obtain this item.

this is no better than a spider fur belt for monks~ you'd better be joking
