only 3 pet classes
# Dec 10 2005 at 3:40 PM Rating: Decent
There are only 3 pet classes BST/MAG/NEC.

BST main source of DPS is their own melee.

Out of the 3 pet classes, mages are the only one that have zero defense other than their pet and the spell gate.

BST pets

BST pets can tank or be just another DSP depending on how the BST plays them but never think that bst can only be played on way

The pet focus stuff only works on PoP pets...like Servant of Marr for example

WRONG!
The pet focus effects work on ALL pets level 59+.

Correct. And that was the reason for the removal of the Last Blood of the Beastmaster recipe. Because the focus would work for other classes. :P

I know a shaman isn't nearly as good a pet class as these three (I am a shaman and yes shaman are good, just our pets don't match these classes I mean) I think we would benefit from this also. I know everyone could benefit from it, but for once it would be nice to get some extra help on our pets. I get tired of seeing most shaman items be CLR, DRU, SHM. would be nice to have an item with some other classes on it.
Now the max/min lvl stuff, is that the lvl of the spell or the actual level of the pet?

Just my 2 cents.

max/min is lvl of pet not spell ... lvl 61+ pets are all lvl 60 i.e. they would fit under that range

The Sham's level 61 pet spell True Spirit summons a level 58 pet...if you look in the focus effects list there is an effect called Minion of the Jarsath with min level at 57 and max level at 65, That would work for our pet but atm it is on no item :(

for some reason when i con'ed a shamie's 61 pet when i was lvl 60, it was WHITE to me. (does this mean it's lvl 60 instead of 58?)

Could just be me ... maybe i was really lvl 58 because i had taken off my EB item and sat in the ocean of OOT then gated back to POK w/o realizing it did any of it bcuz i was somehow too drunk the one day that i decide to drink and fall asleep (in the ocean of OOT ofcourse).

I could either delevel my mage to 60 and go con another shamie's pet ... or lvl a toon to 60 and checking it again... now which to choose ... which to choosee......

a shaman is NOT a pet class.. it is more a priest class, hence the reason they do NOT get stuff like this.. there is good reason for it too.. shaman dont rely on pets, like the real pet classes do.. beastlords rely on their pets most, because the pet is the main dps a bst has, necros use pets for kiting, mages use pets for dps and soloing.. shammy's dont need pets to solo, their pet doenst really put out that much dps compared to pet classes.. i think all these shammy complaining that they dont get items that make their pet stronger should think about the buffs and heals they have..... u dont see a bst healing for 3k...
#REDACTED, Posted: May 21 2005 at 5:20 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) i crit pet heal for almost 7k. K tnx buh bye now

Duh! You knew what he ment and yay if you heal yer dumb pet for 7k. He ment heal PC's for 3k, but shammies can crit heal as well, which would be around 6.5k on a PC or a Pet which is much more helpful. Ok buh bye ya bugger.

This is basically true. Shamans are 1 of the 3 priest classes, and shamans are not a Pet Class. They can cast pets of course, but only Mag, Nec and BST are the pet classes.

This is untrue. At no level did my warder ever out damage my main toon. Pet tanking is one stategy beastlords can use at some levels in some situations, but really pet tanking is not the most efficient use of a beastlord, soloing or in a group.
