was a very rare rotdrop on the halloween skelle event in BB on bristlebane, rotlooters were actually trailing behind the skelle groups and waiting in line to get this hehe(peoples in grps were often looking for this themselves). lucky me, finally got my turn on the very last day of event. my rogue's gone ranger now=P hope the skelles come back sometime, i never had a chance to get the visor *sigh*=P
Yeah, I was hoping to get them for both my Ranger and Rogue, but they seemed to be rare drops... only the Ranger got one in the end. Shame, it's a pretty nice bow.
As of this morning, the skeletal commanders are popping once again and drop the same loot as before. First one i killed in Qeynos Hills dropped this. Get out those alts and get them some gear again

Definitely ended by Sunday the 18th. Several of my friends were camping the Fabled FBSS, and Fabled spawns stopped popping, Same is true with the collector's items drops.
Glad my fellow guild members were selfless enough to take my level 15 Paladin into Gnome country and protect me and kill everything around me so that I could loot one. I didn't need it, I could afford to biy a GFT for my High Elf Pallie, but they knew I wanted one so several died to get it for me... and then other members came up to do the rezzes at sunrise and we all felt like we accomplished something together. THAT is what EQ is to me, not bragging rights and trophies.
Not to flame, because yes, I have benefited greatly from all those guildies and even strangers hacking up skeletons and giving away their loot. But Paladins don't get archery over 75 which makes them kinda neutral for an item such as this. Better to hand it off to a ranger or warrior instead.
A ranger or warrior needs a better bow than this, BECAUSE they can do more with it. At lower levels, it is merely an accessory. Something that gives stats that you can pull with. If a pally wants it, and can get it, more power to him... rangers have to worship either tunare of karana, so have a MUCH better selection of bows starting at low levels... I myself would say this bow is for the warriors, pallys, and SKs more than the rangers.
A warrior having a higher cap means squat, because a warrior should never use a bow as a primary source of DPS. Theydon't get all the bonuses that a ranger gets at higher levels, and at lower levels, well.. a bow is for pulling. As a ranger, I did play with bow-kiting at lower levels,but... it's a pain, and it takes forever... A warrior can't snare, so bow kiting for them is pretty much out.
I was with a monk and a caster, neither of whom could use it, its no drop, I could use it. They told me to take, I needed a decent bow, I have a decent bow. Had there been somebody there who could better use it, they would have gotten it. My ranger loves his!
ok guys i realise it's not the politest thing to take a piece of equip that you can't use when a needy char is standing nearby ...but whoever kills the mob has rights to the item...and besides its not like its some peice of gear that people will be able to get tons of .... its a piece of gear that you can show to people later and be like i was there when eq hit 5 ..sorta like a trophy ...so calm your jets and go get yourselves a fireworks staff : P
(btw i keep a Mess of the queen around just becasue it is the last piece of equip i have from my pal that i deleted 3 years ago...and quite a few random things in my bank just to say hey i killed this)
Is it better to have a lame trophy that absolutely no one is going to care about or to make someone happy? Get a trophy that you can use. Or start a character that can use it and park it nearby. Looting something you can't use, while well within your rights, is about equal to rich morons buying priceless artifacts for their own private collections. Ridiculous...
You know that little (usually) yellow bar that drops when you jump? That's your endurance bar. Whole setup was changed a few months back as part of the melee changes, so that melee's now have an extra bar to worry about. Doesnt drop when you fight anymore, but does when you use disc's.
For hybrids it aint really a big issue, but for the pure melee classes like warriors monks and rogues (and berzerkers...) they basically have a bar that gets used up when they use their disciplines.
So disciplines are the equiv of spells, and the endurance bar is the equiv of their manapool.

A damn mage looted one of the shortbows rather than let my 15 SK have it...I asked and he was like 'I'm not here to camp items for you lowbies'...sortof rude, no?
