Wow, Druids Grype alot...oh yea doh i am a druid... I see no reason why we should beable to wear this...our wisdom gear is cheap, lots of it, so what if we have crapy ac, ever looked at an enchanter that gets beat on everytime a charm breaks or slows w/o the tank having enough agro? hmm...Makes ya think about all the people always gryping about their class...MAKE A NEW ONE or Play DIABLO or something. Ok so we druids can kite like crazy but not past 54 or so...its extremly hard. if u grype bout not being able to group find a guild who accepts you ;)...oh yea by the way I think the most powerful class are wizards once they get their aoe snare, they can kite nearly anything that doesnt cast. just my lil humble opinion :) this BP rocks..im setting up a raid for my guild to get a couple of these

Hiya all, just wanted to toss in a dr00ds POV here.

Personally, AC does not matter to me, as I truly enjoy grouping with others. It is a waste to play a druid solo through the 50's, as the grandeur of norrath is out there to see. (Unavailable to a solo druid... no dungeon crawling ;)

The thing is, not all of us are bad people, it seems everytime I come jumping into a board looking for info on a warrior item etc, dr00ds are getting flamed lol. (Lighten up guys) There are good and bad players in every class, and always will be.

Anyway, I am sorry to clog the board with yet another non-item specific post, just wanted to pitch in. (thank you all that posted constructive item/drop info here and elsewhere)

"But who doesnt like to have a evac when you see the whole PoH come running to ya." - Breaux Bristlebane

I don't for one, I eat the death and do what I can so a cleric can camp out but I guess that's just because I've actually been to PoH and to me it's a place in the game where I have to do things a certain way and not some TLA I throw out while I'm telling everyone who I think r0x0rz and who su><0rz.

As far as creature hide, they are dragons which in classic medival fantasy have always been made of gold or silver or whatever metal you can dream up for their scales.

As far as monks I can see that this would be cool but again it is 5 and a half stones and it is dragon hide which I'm guessing Verant decided was some kind of metal when they picked the class list.

The part I don't get is it's always the same thing, low weight someone has to say how sweet it would be for a monk. Got some wis then some priest class claims it as the item you should always let them loot and any priest class who can't wear it has at least one guy representing them that will complain that they can't wear it. Got some charisma some podunk is going to call it a killer bard item even though the SolTemple gear has better stats. If it's anything less than whatever the current uber_warrior_item_of_choice is than some warrior has to complain that it was even put in the game.

If you play a class, or know specifics on the gear of a class, that is somewhere near the "Level to obtain" and can actually use the item then you probably have a right to post a comment otherwise I'm sure what everyone is looking for is who drops it and how do you get one. Oh and I'm sure if it isn't NODROP than someone will want to know how much it goes for and/or which classes will probably have better gear by the time they can kill the mob so they know who to invite when they go to farm this for their twink.

What mob?

Same question as always, exactly what mob drops this? Im not interested in selling it when I get it, Im a warrior, I want to use it, wont ell anyone else what mob drops it if Im asked not to, just want to know which mobs I should be fighting over there. Give me a tell in game.

The pattern I've noticed.
The Dragon(skin, horn, leg, wing, etc.) armors come in 5 types. Matchless, Peerless, Heavy, Reinforced, and Worked, From best to worst.
For the most part the pattern is +or - 1 to the AC and stats for each level. It is wearable by chain and better classes and drops off dragons in Western Wastes.
The slots that I've seen armor for are Face, Wrist, Arm, Back, Feet Leg, Waist, Hand, Shoulders, and Chest.
This is the second worst one and the Worked has been found. The pattern is holding with hp/mana at +/- 10

These items are pretty much super uber anyway, so most of us will never even see one, whether you can wear it or not. This is just another handout to power players and uber guilds, so if you are a "normal" player, best to go back to LG and camp the SMR or fbss.

Ok, VI said Druids aren't going to get high AC stuff like this. I can understand that. But what most of us Druids are complaining about isn't the AC, it's the bonuses. No Druid in thier right mind is going to step in and tank. Forget AC, let's talk HP. My 41st lev Druid has less HP than most newbie Ogre Warriors. But when i see a fantastic piece of armor that is smothered in bonuses, esp. wisdom, and I cant wear it, it bums me out. I have a right to get pissed or sad or whatever. So instead of just complaining and making everyone hate Druids until they need a SoW or a GG, i propose a new kind of armor. Lower in AC than this kind of thing, but with a bunch of great stats. It could be robes (we WERE promised robes long ago) or a full line of armor. This fulfills VI's side and players.
As a final note. I read and post here alot, and I see alot less Druids who are pissed or sad as people flaming Druids. I have a question for those that hate Druids "*************** Guess what the most played character class is on EVERY server?

Im not sure which it is but it sure as hell isnt druids... necros, rogues, and warriors all appear more frequently than ******** like you...

Every class would love some sweetass set of gear that would make their class superior in every way to the others, catch is, that would **** of the other 14 classes, ruin the point of the game, **** me off even if it was my class, and generally **** things up. Druids are good enuf, you get what you get, now get the hell over it. Try not to ruin things for people who are intellegent enuf to reason out the basic concepts youve forced me to draw out for you... Just because your stupid, ignorant, and arrogant, most people (druids included) are not.

All in all, this is great for the classes that can use it. Those that cant, either sit back and say "if i were a <insert class here> i would like this" or "this item is good because..." or post useful info for people trying to aquire it, or if you aren't capable of such things, STFU!

That's kinda the reason some people hate Druids.

Mind you, I have nothing against them.

However, Druids are one of the easiest classes to play solo powerfully. So although good people are druids too, it is also the easiest class for antisocial jerks to play too. Powerful and doesn't need other people until very high level, and jerks like that don't think that far ahead.

So a lot of Dr00ds exist...and they tend to make the game a pain for others a lot.

Don't get me wrong. I know that not all jerks are druids and not all druids are jerks. It's just the common perception.

Not to mention they are about the single best class at KSing, something thats happened to me many times over, lost 2 iksar bps to KSing druids, both got warnings from GM and nobpforme. Still havent gotten one... Ever tried fear kiting when a druid roots the mob? it becomes impossible and you get yer *** beat, druid takes kill. Ever tried pulling when a druid roots the mob or just nukes it big and it turns aggro? Also bout impossible.

Very nice item. Unlike some of the recent finds, this one has no minuses on any stat, and its not no drop. Bonus, the weight is low as well while wearable by melee's and 2 of the priest classes. I imagine Druid's might start yelling about how they can't use this item and how unfair it is that 2 of the priest classes can and they can't. I can imagine the possibility of a nerf to make this melee only if druids yell to loud.

Perhaps... It amazes me though how many of you (whom I can picture begging for ports right now) are so rude to druids. Is it so wrong to want a little more AC? I mean making us more survivable in groups to make us a better partner is that bad? You people disgust me sometimes. Why does everything have to be about jealousy?
RE: ummmm, WOW
# Feb 13 2001 at 2:38 AM Rating: Default
Its not really jealousy. Verant have established that Druids are not going to be a high AC class. If they start messing about with that now then any fluff/background is a joke.
You can want more AC, thats not unreasonable, but you shouldnt really complain when you dont get it. *shrug*

#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 13 2001 at 8:32 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) yeah druids always get screwed, whether it be verrant not giving us much of anything to wear or rude players who think we OWE them ports and buffs. im so sick of ppl walking up to me and saying "SOW, now!" that im honestly thinking i should never give out another SOW to the ungrateful tweaked melee classes.

Sorry Reiwynn... I see nothing humble about your post at all.

Of course, what about all the people who seem to believe that we Clerics OWE them an xp res, just because we can?

And by the way... please don't lump all melee characters into the "ungrateful tweaked melee classes". My Paladin NEVER asks for a buff or SoW without FIRST providing a couple of heals or spirit armour.
Druid or Drooid?
# Feb 13 2001 at 1:27 PM Rating: Excellent
I think we need to recagnize there are 2 kinds of ppl playing the class. One for "PHAT LEWT" and one for the love of the class.
The former will complain how he can't wear chain or plate class armour. The latter will know that he does not need it.
I as a warrior have seen both kinds. I just the other day grouped with a level 52 drood th at had not grouped in 25 levels or so he told us. He then nuked a mod I was puling with his best nuke and ran around CoM and made one of the larges trains I have seen in the last year. He wondered why I could not taunt it off him as he ran away from me. I did not have sow, he did! I pulled it with a weak 6 point bow hit, he nuked for over 600 points. I think he was higher on the hate list.
The Drooid thinks we should respect him for his level and his gear. A druid earns your respect with his actions and skill with his class.

That's the thing though. I personally know of many druids that would trade away their ability to kite to be more accepted even without the AC. Personally I like the "PHAT L3WT" as you call it but I'm not overly upset I can't use the "Titanium Breastplate of the Pimp Slap." I'm not a chain class and I don't have a problem. At 54th I have maybe 650ish AC (believe it or not I didn't get to the level soloing but just tried to stay as low on the hate list as possible in my groups and am still working on defense at 179 :-/ ). When I get aggroed on I stand there still tell the tank he's on me and cross my fingers he can save me <smile> All the while chain casting root hoping to get one to stick in case the tank can't get him. And I also don't think that all druid's are a "We got screwed" here class. It would be nice to have better equipment but I can live without it. Personally I would just like to be more group friendly as a class post 50 for something other than sow for outdoor zones, Evac's, and a few nukes here and there. (Not that damageshields hurt either for that matter.) LOL Besides... (and not that I'm bashing monks by any means cause the ROCK) but have you noticed the "THIS HAS MONK WRITTEN ALL OVER IT! WHY CAN'T WE USE IT???" Most of these I suspect are just children anyway. Ignore them and move on. Be polite to others be it druid or gnome necro (LOL Has anyone else ever felt the need to strangle one of the little guys? I still think they're the loudest race fearing we won't see them down there heheh)

Yes, I have how much ac.. *counts on one hand* hrm.. need a finger or two extra, and that's about it.
We don't get much ac, and druids will not get a ton either.
That is why we can root, memblur, etc (depending on your class)

We all have different things that will *hopefully* keep us from needing a bunch of AC, if we are not a tanking class.

Now, from what I see on this item, it is perhaps more gearted towards the different casters.
Notice the mana bonus in addition to the blanket 'nice' stats?

At any rate, nice piece of stuffs.

It's not THIS item. It's creature hide armor in general. Druids get the wierdest selection. We aren't supposed to be able to wear chain, but we get it in planes gear and uncommon, assorted other pieces. We can wear bone armor, why? Who the hell knows. But by a RP POV Druids should be on the list as acceptable classes for creature hide armor, unless the creature is made of metal or something.

Druids are an asset to any group if played well, as is any class. Problem is as, I see it, far too many people play druids as thier main char and then expect all things to come to them. In over a year of playing I have seen inumerable power gaming fools playing halfling druids. (Matter of fact approximately 16% of all charecters in the game are druids, the highest percent of any given class.) These are most often the worst ones. Not to say there aren't exceptions to that but come on... Druids have the capability of kiting 4 mobs that con blue all day long if played right. Name another class that can do it, I dare ya! Maybe a Necro comes close, but still... I have played and still occasionaly play a druid as needed by my guild(s) The whining(sp?) punks that ***** about "OH jeez druids should be able to use/equip so and so item" give the rest a bad name. Give up and play another class for a bit, try tanking, or better yet try being a bard (them poor bastiches get the worst of it, 3% total class choice). You might just understand Tanks frustration at a gimp druid who nukes the snot out of a mob before we can build up on it's hate list. I got Taunt maxxed but a 600pt DD to my double for 100+ ain't gonna doit, so please let the mob get to about 60% then nuke, or better yet 50%. You will live alot longer, trust me. Although I do agree that some hide armors should be given to druids, dragons ain't normal. They are and have been traditionaly named for metals ergo metel scales etc.

To all those Druids who know how to be an asset to a group/raid thanks, and I look forward to playing with you. To those of you that do not or are not capable of learning, get bent and go kite Gorernaire of something.

YES they are good in groups as a last resort healer but i doubt verant made this class for taking hits and grouping all the time until 55+, sorta like a mage :). as for the BP i do agree with how they dont want druids to wear this it is more fit for a warrior or any other type of tank cause ive yet to see a DRUID actually tank on his own with a blue mob over 20
