To answer your question about what drops this;
The bag is dropped by Naggy. I luckly won this bag last night when we dropped him.

Uhh... if you click the links of the mobs listed at the top of the page, you can tell the level of the mob. Also, you could check the beastiary page for each zone and that gives you an approximation as well.

Saving you 30 seconds of work...
Lord Nagafen is level 55
Serverilous is level 60
Zordakalicus Ragefire is level 54

THIS IS NOT A Monk ITEM

YO. whoever thinks this is a monk item is wrong. it is an any class item... sure monks could benifit the most from it, but so could any class or person (roll in the dough hehe) in closing stop saying this is a monk item because it would say CLASS : MNK
RACE : HUM IKS
although it would be silly to restrict people on a bag lol... or is it? dundundun =P
RE: THIS IS NOT A Monk ITEM

Well, when people say "This is a <insert class here> item" and the item itself is open to other classes, they mean that monks would benefit the most from it, like you said - not that the item is purely for <insert class here>. :-)

Dropped last week
# Nov 07 2001 at 10:23 AM Rating: Good
When this item dropped last week on Brell, monks with tinkerer's bags were told to send tells for the roll. Since no monks had tinkerer's bags, it was rolled by the entire raid. Regardless of the bickering of the people there, I think this was handled very well. In future raids I will ensure the raid leader posts the exact roll rules for all of naggys drops. That should stop anyone from complaining about anything when the roll time comes. I go to naggy for the fun, not the loot....*Sigh*...I wish more people were like that. =)

What sense does that make? If a monk didn't have a tinkerer's bag, he would have MORE of a need for this, not LESS. Unless you actually meant that the monk didn't have better than a tinkerer's bag.

I'm not high enough to last more than a few seconds on a Naggy raid, but I also go on raids for the fun. Not that I'll pass on the loot if it drops. I got my sceptre of mastery because I was the only monk in all of Kael Drakkal when the guy who drops it was killed, not even by my guild.

I beleive he did mean "if they have TBags", Troodon. Its a common practice you would probably only understand if you had been on a Naggy/Vox/Severilous/Talendor/Trak raid. Similar thing happens for Cloak of Flames, the haste item. The people who have a lesser item of the same type (i.e. Haste or weight reducing item, etc) roll on this new and better item. Then they give their less efective items (Such as a Tbag for the Treasure Hunters Satchel, or an FBSS or Sash of Dragonborn for the CoF) to the raid leader, and then the rest of the raid roles on those items.

Its kinda like, ok, I have this better item now, so I don't need this, but since you all helped me get the better item, you can roll on and have my old item. (Usually what happens is everyone rolls on the nice item, and IF someone with another less good item gets the Bad or Cloak, then they donate, voluntarily, their old item to be rolled on.)

Hope that just clears things up a bit.

Yes, you have described my raid rules to a "t". If you tell me that said item is an upgrade for you (and noone else does so), you get the bag (in this case) and i get your old bag to roll on for everyone else or the loser of the roll--lowest
roll wins the return. This keeps me from seeing said bag in your inventory (via shouts & auctions) in the bazaar in 2 hours. If not an upgrade, everybody gets to random 1k for it.

i believe that this is called NBG and is stated in the post for the raid and again on /rs when we form groups as a warning.

Several dragons drop a light weight 100% weight reduction bag. USUALLY, because everyone knows about the weight restrictions placed on monks, the monks that are present get first shot at this bag IF they have a tinkerer's bag that they can trade for it if they win. The lucky monk then surrenders a tinkerer's bag which is IDENTICAL to this except it is not lore and it weighs 1.0 instead of 0.4. The rest of the raid members present then get to roll on the tinkerer's bag. The only reason I can think of for someone to object to this is if they intended to sell the Treasure Hunter's Satchel. In that case, the Satchel is definitely worth more than a Tinkerer's Bag. A monk who got this item would NEVER sell it though.

I am a Monk and can tell you.. By the time a Monk has all his gear equiped.. Chances are he's at 10-12WT which leaves very little room for anything.. be it money or items. Therefor without an item that weighs almost nothing and that is 100% Weight Reduction there is no reason that a Monk would carry anything at all. Therefor it is designed for a Monk, for the bags that weigh 1WT are to much for a Monk to carry. If your looting it to sell it (Or trade for another item) and there is a Monk that needs it, then you need to back your greedy --- up.

A monk was not a character made to carry goods. Not much ppl will sell items from dragon anyways, why only so emphasize a monk will never sell it. I assume that may be u have a monk lol, and want ur monkey to get a bag without hte need of a roll. I will say caster shall go on top of monk as they can carry little but their class loves to loot

Monk item my ***. It would say "Class: MNK / Race: HUM IKS" if it were. If you roll on this thing (and win) and you're not a monk, then keep it, you won it. If you are a monk, well it makes no differance, keep it anyways.

Monk item only hmm? Check out the loot list for Naggy. Naggy drops NOTHING a cleric would want except for this bag. Well nothing a cleric could use at any rate. And frankly Vox is not much better in this. She drops a mask and a bag like this one. Everyone wants clerics for Naggy/Vox raids for heals and resses but EQ decided to give out crap for clerics. So if people expect clerics and say Need vs Greed you might see a lot less clerics showing up for Naggy raids unless it is to help a guildmate get something.

Isn't that the truth, my cleric went on a pickup naggy raid, and 3 gaunts of fiery might and this dropped. Wasn't given the chance to roll on even this. Looking over the loot for naggy, I think I'll skip the next one, unless my guild is going.

Just in case anyone wonder, this is a monk item. Everyone else might just as well use the bag of the tinkerer, where the only difference is that the bag itself weighs 1. But for monks the extra 0.6 weight matters.

The dragon raids I know of, the Satchel is monk only, providing the winner will supply a tinkerer bag for everyong to roll on afterwards.

Go to some area with Deluxe Sewing Kits (about 6 pp a pop, I think); they are 10 Slot, 0% Reduction, and weigh 4 pounds... Excellent for your bank account... For your inventory, I suggest one of these and some Tinkerer's Bags, if you have the money...

Best for the bank are the Deluxe Toolkits from Iceclad Ocean. They are the exact same as the Deluxe Sewing Kits are, but can still be bought. 1-2pp each, sold in Iceclad Ocean at the Gnomish Merchants (all start out non-kos, Gnomes kindly) 10 slot, 3.5 or 4 stones, Giant Sized items, no WR.

# Aug 07 2001 at 2:25 PM Rating: Decent
Deluxe sewing kits can't be bought anywhere. The only way to get one was to have a large sewing kit prior to a patch about a month ago. At that time all the large sewing kits owned by players became deluxe sewing kits with 10 slots and GIANT capacity. You can still buy large kits but they now only have 8 slots though they still hold GIANT.

Way OT for this particular page, but just for the heck of it... you can buy deluxe toolbox's in IC at the gnomes that are 10 slot and hold giant items.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 18 2001 at 10:32 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) It is just plain stupidity to have weight reducing bag/pack just sitting in the bank inventory. What makes it worst is paying for a large amount of platinum and not carry it around.
Not Worth the price

You can goto Sola and buy a Bag of the Tinkering from a gnome for about 5.5k. It hold Giant size items and is 10 slots and it is also 100% weight reduction.

of coarse you can buy a t bag for less, but they weigh more, meaning that this bag that weighs less than half that of a t bag is well worth the extra pp to say, a monk, a weak class war with plate armour, any casters. (although monks are basically the only ones that this makes a realistic upgrade from a t bag, for the extra money. if they actually have it to spend and aren't going on the raids that is, hehe) ;D

Uh, need before greed. Ever heard of it? I'm sure there were plenty of people who went on that raid who would've used it, but this guy rolled on it anyway because he thought he could make an easy 5k out of it. Doing so will not make you very many friends; if you want cash go camp a Dark Ember or something that doesn't require the combined efforts of 20+ peeps to take down.

This Container actually holds up to Giant sized items. (I have one) So at 10K it's a steal. Iv'e heard it sold for much less but doubt the would be seller really new the value of a 10 slot 100% reduction weight container that carries up to Giant sized items. I wouldn't doubt you could sell this item for over 20K with a little work. However it's just too darn usefull to sell unless yer one of those Ogre Warrior thingies.

Just got of these 05-15-01 and want to correct and confirm a couple things. It can hold GIANT items, it is 10 slots at 100% reduction , and the weight is 0.4 not 0.0

I got this of Lord Nagafen and I would not want to sell it because how many people get a great item off dragon raids... especially thier first one ever.

RE: why so expensive
# May 09 2001 at 4:15 AM Rating: Default
Only difference is that bag of tinkers weighs 1.0 and this weighs 0.0. Not really much difference, even if you are a monk. For 10k for this thing youd be better off getting a bag of tinkers, since you can get 2 of them for 10.5k.
I even think my price that I posted of 8k is too high.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jul 26 2001 at 5:02 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I would have to say the main reason for its expense is the rarity and what it takes to gain such an item. I went on my first Naggy raid yesterday and he dropped this bag, I didnt win it since as everyone knows is very hard to do with how many it takes for such an undertaking. Oh another thing, I could be wrong on this because Ive never seen a tinkers bag, but I would assume it has a combine button. Now most higher lvls would not make this mistake, but accidents do happen by hitting the combine and Wham..all your goodies have just vanished like the wind. I would hate this, Ive done it only once not knowing what the combine button did I tried this when I was a 3rd lvl player and thank goodness there wasnt anything of real value in it. Well that I think is the reasons for such a high price tag.

Um, two points. 1. Bag of the Tinkerers does not have a combine button. 2. Even if it did, since quite a few patches ago hitting combine on a trade container will just give you the message "These items can not be combined in this container type" if the contents of the container don't make a valid recipe. So hitting combine doesn't risk losing items anymore. But as I said in #1, it doesn't have a combine button...

Every bit of weight is important to monks. Currently I'm carrying a Bag of the Tinkers and Large Soiled Bag and if it wasn't for my boarder line of 21 weight I would have a third bag for everything I drag around. If I had two of these instead I would save 1.2 weight which alone would make room for a Twink Bag. I would prolly pay 10kpp at least for one of these. Then again money comes easy and not many people are willing to trade items for cash. So to those that price every item, I really wish I was on the server you were.
