Do you get the hast effect if you have arrows that are not in your quiver? Should I put the quiver in my first or last inventory slot, or will it matter? I ask because I usually attempt 200 arrows at a time and only 140 fit in my quiver and ammo slot, so some arrows end up in my other bags.
Do you get the hast effect if you have arrows that are not in your quiver?
Your arrows do not have to be in the quiver to get the haste effect. This does not really mean much prior to Endless Quiver, since you will most likely be carrying arrows in the quiver anyway. It also does not matter which inventory position the quiver is in.
I think you are on the right track with this. I do the same thing and I did notice that no matter what I carry my extra 100 or so arrows in my weight is the same. I can move the 100 arrows from a BP to a 100% WR bag and no change to my weight! This leads me to believe that the quiver dictates arrow performance (weight, delay, haste, or what ever you want to call it) no matter were they are in your inventory. One other thing I noticed is when I put 20 arrows in my ammo slot, after I use a few, I can go back to my inventory and they have automatically moved from my ammo slot into the first available inventory slot, bag etc, further reinforcing this idea. As for the inventory slot position of the quiver I do not think it makes any difference, though I have not experimented with this.
well I have seen in brewing there is an item called Acorn Oil... this is by taking an Acorn and a flask of water and combining them in a brewer. I am thinking that the Foraged Aviak Egg and a Flask of Water in a brewer is maybe the way to get this... Can anyone also confirm that the HQ Lion Pelt is actually HQ Lion Skin? I have been killing Lions like mad and the only two HQ Skins I have gotten are HQ Cat Pelt and HQ Lion Skin but no HQ Lion Pelt... Anyway if anyone knows anymore info it would be much appreciated :)
The skin/pelt you get from a highland lion in Northern Karana is the pelt/skin you need for the Fleeting Quiver. The significant term to remember is cat vs lion. You desire the lion for the fleeting quiver and cat for a tailored quiver. I have made quite a few of both, and still have everything but the distilled mana for a couple of more attempts of fleeting quiver.
I found the recipe for fleeting quivers in the book how to tailor quivers. I bought the book in FV along with five paterns. The list of stuff is quite long and strange. I will log on and write it down and post agian.
Well hun, Bow are not just for pulling. They can be a great asset to a battle especialy if you are soloing. As a Ranger of the 25th season I solo quite efficiently by doing what is called "Arrow Kiteing" I root the mob and make a pin-cushion out of him by plucking him with many arrows. And hitting a mob with 20 arrows at 25 damage a hit with an occasional 50 damage criticle hit can seriously hurt any mob (And remember arrows do not break root like spells do =) Then when the root fades you just clean up with you wurmslayer and Short sword of Morin combo. Of course it does not hurt to be a Daredevil Super Ranger as I try to be <Grins Evily>

Quivers now add a boost to your attack with a bow. It seems to equal their weight reduction, which means merchant bought quivers add 20% haste, and tailored made quivers add 22%.
If you hunt with a high delay bow, or even a very fast bow, a quiver will speed you up quite a bit.
Actually a few people from Rangers Glade did extensive testing and determined that the bow haste from quivers is equal to weight reduction divided by 3.
This puts the Tailored Quiver (22% WR) at just over 7% bow haste and the Fleeting Quiver (60% WR) at 20% bow haste.

I personally use a deluxe tool box for my arrows. There is no weight reduction but it is a 10 slot container and sells for about a plat at the gnome igloos in Ice Clad. Plus if need be it can hold giant sized items.
The number of arrows any given container can hold isn't the point of obtaining this quiver, the Thunderhoof quiver or even the Fleeting Quiver. The point is the amount of the reduction in your bow's attack delay that really matters.
Even this regular quiver grants a 22% reduction in your range attack delay which means if it takes you 100 shots and 10 minutes to drop a particular mob using your 'deluxe tool box', I would use those same arrows but be done in about 7. Doesn't seem like much until you sit down to med back up from your snares/roots and i'm already getting up with full mana to take on another one.
Not bashing...just making a point. And to think, the Fleeting Quiver grants 66%! I'd be done in LESS THAN HALF the time you would. :) nice thought, eh?
I just made one after 4 tries at about 28 tailoring.. i know the trivial is high though.. but never the less.. Just go to the karanas and hunt lions and tigeress.. They drop the most HQ that ive come across yet. Good luck.. and you can bet that i will be making more.. Still lookin for the Fleeting Quiver ingredients.. I carry a few patterns for them and tried a bunch of skins.. If anybody would like to make suggestions.. I thinjk we all would be curious what the heck the pattern is for.. I have decided to make a hot button for asking about every npc i come across "What are fleeting quivers" .. never know.. the info is out there somewhere.. or they wouldnt still have the patterns for sale.. I have searched alot, and have found no reference to what goes into it.. Hmmmm what would fleeting have to do with a quiver.. hmmm

About a month ago at a fan faire Yakatizma finally confirmed that fleeting quivers are NOT in the game, though adding different kinds of quivers and making them more useful were high on his list. I think fleeting quiver patterns may have since been removed from vendors, though I haven't checked yet myself.
This came after two years with hundreds of people experimenting, trying probably thousands of potential recipes (though I suppose there was a lot of overlap due to lack of communication--still some very thorough experimentation was done).
(Edit: At the time this was true; since I wrote this post fleeting quivers were added. Someone else posted the recipe above.)
Has anyone managed to tailor one of these yet? I've been attempting for the last 2 months and cannot find the correct recipe. If you've had any luck, or suggestions, your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
I haven't actually tailored one of these, but I had a merchant bought regular quiver it had 4 slots and 20% weight reduction. Then I saw and bought a tailored quiver from a vendor. It had 6 slots and 22% weight reduction.
how come the bought version has weight reducton ok it only has 4 slots but ill lose 2 stacks for the 10% weight reduction neday how many arrows can u use pullin neway?
How many arrow can you pull with how bout 280+ to take down a Sand Giant in Oasis took him to about 20%life then hand to hand till he died and I crawled to the zone almost dead. At that time lvl 35Ranger.
