Took a day and a bit on Fippy Darkpaw TLP, but I got my Shralok Pack! Yay for old school camping of old world items :-) I know it's far from uber any more, but I was getting rep I wanted as well, so I might as well have been camping where I'd get a useful item.

I have a level 45 rogue that was walking through High pass on the way back from inviting guy into guild in High Keep. I walk past orcs and get attacked, I was gonna run but Insted I thought them since they were not doing much to me. After killing 3 or 4 I see the named orc on my target and I was praying bag drops. After killed the rest of the orcs sure enough there is the bag. What luck. Not sure how rare this is but It was the easy for me. Two hits to kill the orc and its all mine. Now I have 3 good weight reduction bags =)

Also as other people said its no longer pending lore....

Id love to get one, my woodelf ranger is constantly struggling with encumberance. Not to mention most'giant' items are heavy. Overall this bag rivals many other supposidly 'better' bags. lvl to obtain, the container itself's weight, 25% is very nice and is not lore, you can have more then one, droppable and sellable. Ill bet you could get somewhere close to 500pp if you held out for it. I mean its pretty nice, especially 8 slot, giant ans the bags weight is **** nice.

my ranger just so happens to be hunting this exact spot, hope it chop him up. I might try to confirm if he does indeed pop on s/w kith... some mobs DO do that like kizdean gix used to be in WC and EC and other gixes "roam" to other zones. maybe its his offset spawn wjen not in highhold

He spawns among the orcs in the south entrance/exit to HighPass Hold. You have to kill a lot of orcs to get him to spawn, but he'll spawn and come after you if you do.

Well... servers are still down, so I can't check but at least this old issue is put to rest. For me the service seems immediate, since I just found out about/bought this bag for my 45 monk the other day, but I imagine the road was a bit longer for others.

OKAY! These freaking people need to make up there minds'. This bag was the first NOT-NODROP weight reduction bag to ever drop(Except for tink bag but that was a GM event so it dont count) since EQ came out! From the time that this bag dropped, it became pending-lore 7 days after the first person looted the first one ever seen. Even now, after 4 expansions(will be 4 when Planes of Power comes out this upcoming month) its STILL pending-lore! Its like the completely forgot about it! I know so many people(including myself) who looted this item as their own first weight reduction bag and had many chances to loot it again... and again... and again... but don't because of those two **** words! PENDING LORE!

As of 5/26/2002 it is still Pending Lore On Ayonne Ro.

My lvl 15 cleric walked on in to HH, place was empty, looked around, saw Recfek's corpse, did a /shout LFG.....nothing. So I started looting. Of course Recfek was first. He only had 2 minutes left on him so I just about fell out of my seat when I saw he still had the pack on him. Some high lvl PC's must have killed the orcs and just left the body there.

This zone is HIGH PASS HOLD. Not HIGH HOLD PASS. For some reason almost every site and person who mentions this zone gets the zone name backwards. The hold is named after the pass, the pass is not named after the hold. When you zone in, it tells you "You have entered High Pass Hold." All the signs in West Commons, Kithicor, and the Karanas are labelled High Pass Hold. But for some reason people keep getting the zone name backwards.

Repeat after me: High Pass Hold, High Pass Hold...

Guide To The Shralok Brothers
# Oct 09 2001 at 4:24 AM Rating: Good
37 posts
Hey Guys, I've Been Camping This Area On And Off For A Few Days, Today I Got The Shralok Pack Twice. Here's My Guide To Your Success!

There are 3 exceptionally rare spawns in the HHK Pass:

Vopuk Shralok - drops shiny brass idol, misc crap..
Hagnis Shralok - dropps shiny brass halberd, ringmail tunic, misc crap...
Recfek Shralok - drops 3/22 dagger... shralok pack ..misc crap item.

They spawn in this order from Vopuk to Hagnis to Recfek. Now, the first time I killed Recfek today, I was lucky and he pop'd about 15 minutes into my camping there... However, I wanted to see how long it would be for the cycle. I waited through 2 simultaneous pops of Vopuk Shralok (that's right, he pop'd twice before any of his brothers ever pop'd). After Vopuk pops (twice) his next of kin will arise about 1 hour later. Sometimes a little longer. When Hagnis finally pops, count yer lucky stars, because this fool hits for 48hp easy with his Shiny brass halberd. Just be glad he's out of the way cuz his loot sucks (the halberd is crap...good luck selling it). At least Vopuk's drop is worth a lot of pp if you sell to the right person (up to 1k in instances! <the shiny brass idol>). Now, why are you happy that Hagnis has just pop'd and is now defeated? I'll tell you!

Recfek Shralok is about to pop in 45minutes! That's right! He pop's after his brother in under an hour, or about an hour! I've gotten the pack 3 times so far, and I can attest that this is indeed true. They always pop in this order, and from what I can tell, Vopuk pop's up at least twice before his brothers start to cycle in! Too bad the idol is LORE or else i'd be spending my time with Vopuk only! However, that's not the case..the pack is Pending Lore, therefore you can hold as many as you can fit in yer inventory.. (8 if you have no other bags). This bag sells easy for 500pp on Karana server, and some people have offered items that are worth 1kpp to 1.5kpp just for it. It's popular because it only drops 3 times a day!

You must be extremely lucky just to be online when Recfek pops and you also have to be extremely lucky to win the /random 100 200 (or whatever you use)! I'm extremely lucky! You can be too! If you're a higher level player (22+) you can probably start a group and tell them that you can join the group but that you are going to loot the rare pops and not random them. I did that tonight, it's worth it to set that up with yer teammates...and most of the time people don't care! They don't realize I guess..in any case, do what you can to increase your odds, but don't ninjaloot! that's lame. be fair..be up front. In any case, this guide will help you get the loot off all 3 brothers. Remember, the orc spawn area right near where the zone to the forest is! Enjoy & GOOD LUCK!

I was trying to get HHP faction with my Iksar Warrior to save myself the 7 zone run to the Karanas. Since I just came from Kithcor I decided to camp the Orcs. Being Level 33 I took the orc camp, the ENTIRE orc camp. I've camped enough to get from scowls to dubious. In all that time I've only seen Hagnis spawn once and all he gave me was the SBH. Evidently the SBI and Pack are VERY VERY rare drop from an Exceptionally rare spawn. On the plus side I have a good short cut to the Karanas now :-)

Might I suggest an alternate route? Just by turning in about 400-500 bandages to Joogl Honeybugger in Misty Thicket (have to invis yourself or get someone to invis you through Rivervale) you can raise your faction with the halflings to go through their city (excpet druids and clerics, be careful of the clerics as you zone in from Kithicor, they're not very agressive, but don't push it, and keep an eye out for Ella Foodcrafter in Misty Thicket, she's poerful and annoying, but only stays on the path between the wall and Rivervael, and can be avoided pretty easily). Now from Kithicor, you can cross Rivervale into Misty Thicket, run over to Runnyeye, take the short route into the Gorge of King Xorbb, then a quick little trip north to East Karana. Not quite as fast as the trip through High Pass Hold (not Highhold Pass, for some reason even this site has the contangious dyslexia with this zone's name) but you can raise faction with Rivervale much faster than High Pass, and it's still better than the southern alternative. Turning in bandages can be done in one fell swoop (if you have the containers to hold about 25 stacks worth). You can even raise the RV druids if you kill enough goblins, but the druid guild is off to a side path in RV, the only druid you have to worry about is Ella in MT, and she can easily be avoided.

I always use this route. In fact, I often bank and shop in Rivrvale on trips across the continent. Think about it.

Of course, if you want to try for the pack, go for it. But if the only reason you're killing the orcs is for a shortcut, consider the Rivervale route instead.

Got this in my first 15 min camping with a group in highpass. Instantly had AT LEAST 6 people ******** and complaining to me about "how long they've been camping it" and how "I should just give it to them." The next few days in highpass were spent dealing with NooB's offering me 20pp or bronze armour pieces for it, then trying to disrupt my group's activities when I declined to sell to them. This pack should have a listed effect of making those who don't have it a-holes.

Hmmmm, the only reason they would even know you had it (thus bothering you) is if a) you announced that you had it or b) someone who was in your group started announcing that you had it. In the case of you announcing it, you get what you deserve. Why advertise unless you either a) want to make people jealous or resentful or b) you intend to sell it? *shrug* Just my opinion. I know that at lvl 54, I have to go /roleplay or /anon in some zones to keep people from sending me non-stop requests for PL when playing my shaman. Don't advertise, no problems.

There are three different named orcs that drop special stuff in highpass. The one that drops the shralok pack is named Recfek Shralok. He's a much rarer spawn (only seen him twice in all the time I've camped highpass). Vopuk Shralok drops the shiny brass idol and Hagnis Shralok drops the shiny brass halberd (much more common spawns, though still rare).

Wanted one of these for awhile now (need something better then a Spit to carry my Workman's Mallet in). Never seen them auctioned. Was in Velk's yesterday when I hit my auc hotkey for the heck of it. Got a tell from a lvl45+ caster said he'd be willing to sell if the price is right. I offered 400pp and he didn't bite. So I offered to trade him straight up, my Evil Eye Bag for the Shralok. He jumped at it to get a 70% weight reducer and thought I was crazy. An hour later in LGuk, I had a new EE Bag.

Basically, I got a Shralok Pack for an hours worth of my time. Best trade I've made in a LONG time.

i've never seen this guy before and we killed him and i rolled 55 and got the pack. hehe i must be lucky, but any way i think this item is kinda rare but i don't know if he drops this every time like stated in a previous post. My groupies said this was rare and being a Barbarian i don't really need the 25% weight reduction that much so i might sell it.

While barbarians do have a high base strength, and shaman have the best STR buffs in the game, I would never turn down or sell weight reducing packs. When you get higher level, and are fighting in dungeons far away from a vendor or bank, the ability to reduce the weight of your loot is priceless. Once you get decked out in full plate armor (or totemic), or have to carry extra gear for different things (ie save gear) weight reduction makes a huge different. The 10-15 stone you would save with this pack could mean an extra hundred plat or more worth of loot, depending on what you are fighting, and more time for gaining experience before you have to bank. Maybe I should just shut up now before I convince everyone and can't buy one of these.

Yes, weight reduction is the big deal. It can hold giant items (a regular backpack or tailored backpack can only hold large items). Also, if they left its weight at 0.4, then it's good from that aspect too, especially for a monk. Recently they've been messing around with the weight of a number of containers. Backpacks were always heavy at 3.0, so I would carry around trade containers like large sewing kits. Large sewing kits have been changed (they are now Deluxe sewing kits) to be 10 slot (******** most of the people that paid a premium for tailored backpacks for bank inventory), but had their weigh changed from 0.4 to 3.0, then to 4.0 (which is where it currently is on test). Of course the weight of the container means nothing if you are just using the container to expand bank inventory.
Spawn time
# Apr 30 2001 at 8:24 PM Rating: Decent
Buddy of mine who's pretty much lived in Highpass for about two weeks real time (he was laid off at the time) says that this guy's spawn cycle is about 4hours and he's logged on to show me him spawn and sure enough, within 10 minutes, he's there, then nothing for 4 hours.

As for drop rate, as of March 2001, it was still pretty rare - it seemed that he had maybe a 10% drop rate - don't know if that's since changed.
Just got this pack...

This is the first time I've ever seen this item drop and we've killed both the named orc's that spawn there many times. The orc that dropped it last night (4/18/01) was Vopuk Shralok. Although Vopuk is an easy kill when you're in a group, this item is NOT a common spawn. He also drops a huge *** halbred, but I don't remember the stats on that right off hand. The pack is LORE now as well.

Shining Brass Halberd, 16/48 magical 2hs, lightsource

While slow, this is a pretty good weopon pre-20 as the damage cap is set at 33 until then.

The Pack is a Great drop, i didn't get a Tailored Backpack(10%) until 30 (when i could afford blowing 80p on it) and they don't do much. I did finally get a Sewn Evil Eye Bag (75%) around 40, but the Weight reduction bags help a heck of a lot. Get them when you can.

My troll warrior has a 164 str, and while that not amazing, the weight reduction is truly significant for even her.

Lucky roll I had been rolling /random 1-100 instead of /random 100. I finally rolled high and won all other rolls where 0 and 1. My newbieness still scares me to this day on how many things I lost the roll on :-(.

As with many Monks, I started from Freeport then worked a path through the commons into High Pass. I think I went from level 16 to 35 between the pass and the keep. In all the time I camped the orc wall, only one pack dropped. I managed to luck into rolling a 99 out of 100 to win the pack. Then on Thanks Giving day 2000, I was passing through going to the keep to log out when the named guy spawned on top of me. So I have managed to use up all my dumb luck on the game earning two Shralok packs. Now every camp takes me at least a day if not longer.
The bag is Damned rare

I dont know about you guys but i have leveled at the orcs in Highhold with 4 characters.

I have seen the named drop LOTS of Shiny Brass Halbards (worthless these days) Shiny Brass Idols (worthless in MOST situations) and that bag. And let me tell you, that bag is SOOOOooooo rare. I am NOT selling mine for less then 5000k. I got very very very lucky i got mine. I was alone passing through when i saw the named orc and jumped him immidately. 3 more orcs jumped me also but i managed to kill him and loot the bag before dying a second later. Man that bag is rare. I've seen high level people camping that bag for days with no luck. Like i said, no WAY IN **** am i selling that bag for less than 5000k. Its just too damned rare

You know that 5000k means 5 million, right? Not too sure that your item is gonna make the market.

Heh for around 5k someone could just go buy a 10 slot 100% wt reduction bag from Sol A. Shralok pack isn't worth the trouble.

Hmmm...I've seen a few posts saying how rare this spawn is. I was there for 2 hours a named orc spawned twice and both times it was the one with the pack. Maybe we were lucky. I wasn't though I wanted the SBH =)

Lucky heh I spent over 30 hours (many differnt ocasions) killing orcs there for exp I have had like 7 idols and probly twice that many Halberd to give to newbies who in most casses waste the DA on a guard (quite a funny sight a guard not being able to hurt a lvl 1) but I hacve yet to see the pack drop.

Why would you want he Shiny Brass Halberd? It sucks massively. It does 16 and has 48 DELAY!! It also ways 15lbs so you will always be encumbered if you have it.

Some people like to just have things to collect. I know it may sound strange, but I like to collect a lot of weird and rare items even if they aren't the best. It's just a matter of taste. = )

Where can I find this. Is it dropped, or for purchase at one of the stores?

It is a rare drop off the Named orc which spawns on the hill just by the Kithicor zone. He drops either a magical 2H weapon (great for rangers and such) or the pack. I have seen the 2H drop about 10 times to the 1 time I saw the pack. Good luck.
