this item is great for a monk and I agree everyone "should" get a chance to get it but I think it would be kind of a curteous thing to let a monk have it they do carry resist gear and food water and bandages add up with all their gear on all my characters I would love one of these being I am mostly encumbered but hey I don't die faster by not having one like monks do
haha
# Jun 16 2002 at 5:49 AM Rating: Decent
u guys are really funny i hate to say this as a war who is saving for cobalt and a cof and other expensive things and could definately use the pp as much as any monk could use this bag

bottom line NBG any (class only) item should be rolled upon only by the class. i say this because i lost a roll on a BoC to a freeking cleric and to say the least i was enraged he wanted to sell it and even said so i ended up leaving the guild anyhow (steps off his soapbox) just think NBG and be curteous and dont be one of the jerks who makes the game not fun

You dont mention whether it was a guild raid or a general pickup raid you were on when you were usurped by the cleric... In a guild raid I agree I'd be pretty unhappy too, should be NBG... but in a general pickup raid everyone should get a shot at the drops otherwise you'll find it hard to get certain classes to go in the first place.

A good example being a Vox or Naggy raid... not exactly a large amount of items drop off these dragons for the casting types... but without them the melees would be toast...

Nooooo but the named FG's you need to kill on the way to Naggy DO drop nice caster items
RE: haha
# Mar 28 2003 at 5:57 PM Rating: Decent
Yeah but casters can grab 3-5 friends and go do fire giants while a good naggy vox beatting still requires 20ish +- 5 depending on ubahness
totally monk

I never post here and I'm not one to ever say this is a "monk" only or any class only, but this is definitely a monk only bag. Rolling at a Gore raid? what kind of guild are you guys in. I want to get better as a guild and even though I'm a high elf and I constantly have to worry about getting encumbered I'd cut my arm off before I'd take this from a monk. Anyone but a monk could do just fine or better with a Rallic pack. If you were on this raid, go kill some greenie's and get a tailor with 30 skill level to make you one.

I believe that Monks with a Tink bag should be able to swap out thier bag for this and then all all should be able to role, but to the guy that thinks monks dont need this cause they dont ML. If you get overweight what happens? you ask for a str buff. If a Monk get overwieght no str buff is going to help him. I do believe that monks should have the first shot at this
#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 04 2002 at 4:00 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) From what i've observed on the tunare server, this item is strictly monk only. Not saying it should be that way, just that it is. I've heard that if several bags drop, they'll let the casters roll on one.
#REDACTED, Posted: Feb 21 2002 at 9:16 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Hey all, Im selling this bag on the tholuxe pealls server, according to the price here its worth almost 10k but im letting it go for 2k, if anyone wants it send me a tell in game im on almost everyday.
RE: Seling it
# Apr 17 2002 at 12:19 PM Rating: Decent
2k is reasonable. With Ralic being so widlely farmed, you could probably still get 3 or so for this, but 2 will make it go fast.

# Nov 06 2001 at 12:21 PM Rating: Good
ya know.. regardless of what you guy say, if you are in the battle where this drops, you earned the right to roll on it. This "Ohhh.. it's a monk item" crap is getting way to old.
#REDACTED, Posted: May 14 2002 at 12:16 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) That's BS. When my bard gets high enough for dragon raids, and I start leading them, this bag will be monk only. Non-monks rolling on this is like giving a SBOC to a priest.
Talendor drops too

Drops off Talendor too, in Skyfire. King's Court got another one yesterday.

This bag is very useful for monks. I recently acquired one, by swapping it for a tink bag with the Paladin that won it.

He went away with a wt1.0 100% reduction 10 slot bag and I went away with a wt0.4 100% reduction 10 slot bag..so two people were happy rather than just one, which was cool.

I sent a /tell to the winner the second he was announced, offering the tink. So to you monks out there, you might want to do this if you have a tink and the non-monk winner is a reasonable sort, or you might want to establish that this should only be lottoed to monks... up to you.

Its strange to say but, I probably would have not ended up with this bag if only monks had rolled on it, seeing as there were 5 on the raid.

Regarding monk weight.. depending on your level, you lose progressively more AC for going overweight. My advice is to settle on a maximum weight/AC loss that your are comfortable with (as your worse case scenario) and try to keep a few pounds under that. I like to stick around 16/17 pounds, which means that I can loot an average nights worth of plat without breaking into 19.
RE:
# Apr 23 2002 at 4:30 PM Rating: Decent
actually, the only time a monk is givin this outright over any other class is if they have a tink bag to give in trade for it. then the tink bag is merited/randomed among the rest. ANY class can use this therefore everyone gets a chance at it. just my observations.

As anybody will find a 100% WR bag useful, I would not call this "a monk item". If monks always want to be 100% WR on their bags, ask a nice shaman (lvl 5 gets the spell, I believe) to summon you a bunch of bags at the beginning of your EQ session - and you'll be able to carry whatever you want, just don't forget to empty out the bags at the end of the session, so you don't lose your good stuff! :)

Personally, I have a SK and a rogue, dark elf and wood elf respectively, and due to the weight of their armor and things like bags, would both find a bag like this amazingly useful, because right now neither of them can pick up too much loot without becoming encumbered.

This is a great bag for anybody, just hard to get.
RE:
# May 14 2002 at 12:19 PM Rating: Decent
Heavy things monks carry:

weapons
keys (seb key is 1.0)
food/drink/bandages
j boots

Guildmate quit the game after losing a peacebringer and her seb key to a summoned bag accident.
Another caution
# Dec 15 2001 at 5:18 AM Rating: Decent
My level 5 shaman had summoned up Spirit pouches to hold some extra loot (conldn't afford bags AND spells at the time). I went LD and couldn't log on for more than 30 minutes. Bags poofed. If you take this route and use summoned bags, make sure you don't go LD for too long. I lost spider silks--the loss is no big deal. You're likely to lose something much better.
Also Drops on..

This also drops off of Severilious in the Emerald Jungle. I was there when Kings Court Wasted it this evening. (Heh, I ran up and took a couple of stabs at it just to say that I did. Shortly after that I was feared and ran screaming into the night.) This was one of thr 3 rare items it dropped.

#REDACTED, Posted: Jul 20 2001 at 1:42 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) WHY??????? may i ask WHY!!!!!!!!????? do you think that monks do not master loot??? Because we don't have one of these bags. If you don't play a monk then please don't talk like you know whats best for a monk.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 17 2001 at 6:10 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You don't have to listen if you don't want to, but the best idea I've seen for this lovely sack it thus: Yes, it only goes to monks. IF the monk that wins it will hand out a tink bag to be randomed among the crowd of not monks. if the monks don't have tink bags, then they just get the same spot as anyone else. EVERYONE would love one of these, so give everyone a chance.
"Doh!" nothing.
# Jun 06 2001 at 2:40 PM Rating: Default
Why would any other class care about the weight they have on them unless they're going over (which shouldn't be happenning)? At higher levels, someone Master Loots and then devides at the end. I hate the "only this class should roll" discussions, but this is one of those "only Monks should role", since we can only have 14 WT. (although higher limit at higher levels).
RE:
# Jul 08 2001 at 1:40 AM Rating: Default
monks DON'T have to keep below that weight limit, it is just better to have that.

So the person that will master loot needs these bags too. I happen to master loot sometimes, so i should be able to roll on them.Monks never master loot so they don't need them becuase at higher level everyone master loot, except monks. becuase monks want the bonus for keeping under there weight limit.
RE:
# Dec 02 2002 at 7:02 PM Rating: Decent
well i hate to flame but any smart monk WILL keep their weight under the limit (depending on your level as in up to lvl 29 its 15wt, 30-39 16wt, 40-49 17wt, etc... up to 24wt at lvl 60) because for every pound you are over you lose 4ac and if you have played this game for over a week then you know that is alot of ac to lose and you dont want that! hope this helps =)

dude man, i agree with all the flamers, i honestly think monks MUST keep the lowest weight possible. i occasionally play my brother's monk once in a while and it is very hard to find light-weight armor that has rather high AC so these bags really help. just my thoughts

Ok, yes monks don't HAVE to keep below that weight, but their ac is severly effected, so actually they DO have to keep below the weight cap, even at 60 when it's what, 24? The bags I carry are 24 weight. Yes I walk around with 8, 3 pound bags. Obviously they get first roll on this, and if one of them is willing to give up a tink bag for it, they usually get it outright. They always explain this at the start of the raid, if you don't like it, don't go. But it seems you haven't or you would know why this is the case. I don't think I know a monk that master loots, but if they pick up an item that has much weight, they're screwed. Or did you think monks just have cash deposited into their bank? They NEED a bag like this to be able to loot and thereby make money. The only 10 slot 100% WR bag you'll probably see is a tink bag, about 5k with good cha and faction out of sol a.

and to the poster of "geez, quit playing a monk, your too pissed off." It's probably because he's tired of educating dumbasses.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jul 22 2001 at 11:49 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) OMG you ******, of course monks should keep under weight and master loot. Monks have some very expensive stuff to get. You shouldn't talk, cause if you're a melee class then you definitely have enough str to not need one of these. Monks get kinda screwed over when it comes to loot, with losing an ac bonus if they go over 14 weight! Just keep your mouth shut!
