I've killed close to 500 Sarnaks the past 2 nights and saw this weap once. It dropped off a Sarnak Lego just inside the hallway from the Chancellor's room.

I haven't tried to con the Trooper Mozo, yet with this thing but I hope it works. I have ton of bone chips with his name on them.

Nifty, but useful?
# Dec 11 2002 at 3:08 AM Rating: Decent
I think what they are trying to say is that it alters one of the 5 factions in Cabilis, making building that faction a little easier. I only just got this item, but I'm interested in finding out. Even if it doesn't work, it still has +20 HP. I know it isn't much, but it might be just enough at low level to save you as cammo wears off and you are dashing for the zone line.

Btw, it says this is a lore item. Does anyone know where to find info on that or if it is part of a quest?
Check faction
# Apr 09 2002 at 3:29 AM Rating: Decent
Best way to check your faction in Cabalis is to just go near the guards and consider them (aka: right click on the guards) Also remember that there are several factions to get warm with before you can wander into Cabalis. If this blade has any use it isn't likely to be good for all factions. It is in my Pallies junk pile collecting dust for now.

Ok, so are you guys saying that just by weilding this sword, you can walk in Cabilis...Even if you are a human, or one of the non-evil races?
PLEASE reply, i may need to go to Cabilis to bank sometime, and im human, BTW if you need good faction too, will killing Sarnaks help this out?

Dont believe the hype
# Jan 03 2002 at 10:48 AM Rating: Good
Ok, i've been working on building my fraction with the poeple/lizards of Cabilis for sometime now. So when I heard that the blade of passage would allow me to walk thru the city I had to get one. After purchasing one for 20pp at the windmill, I equiped it in my primary hand and proceeded to Cabilis. Knowing (from the post here) that the blade doent help against the CrusadersOfGreenMist or BroodOfKotiz. Well I camo'ed pass the gate and got to the merchant area. I allowed camo to drop and then BAM! Everything attacked me! The only thing that didnt attack me were the rats. No SK or necros were around. I pointed this out to them but they wouldn't listen. I tried to fight them off with my 7dmg 35dly weapon (reading war and peace between each swing) but to no avail. I made it to the zone when a kind Iskar Crusader finally put me outta my misery.
I then tell the GM hey I got killed in Cabilis. He says "Yeah you're KOS there". I then replied "I had a Blade of Passage". He replied, "And you point is.......". Dumbfounded, I came to this site a do a little research. Some yahoo named 'manchine' posted a value of 1200pp to 4000pp for the sword over 15 times.
Well, just to let everyone know, the blade didn't work for me.

Faction explaination
# Oct 26 2001 at 4:17 PM Rating: Default
Just thought I'd share an insider POV of Cabilis factions with people, because people often ask me.

There are 6 factions you'll have to worry about in Cabilis, in this order:

1) Legion of Cabilis. This is the warrior guild faction. Iksar NPCs named "Trooper X" and the named skorpkises in The Overthere are on this faction (plus a couple of other). Gained by killing Kunark Goblins and "exiled" Iksar (pariahs, bandits, manslayers, etc.)

2) Crusaders (of Greenmist?): The SK guild faction. Iksar NPCs named "Crusader X" are on this faction. These are what usually kill the looky-loos who have maxxed Legion faction and try to walk into Cabilis. Pretty much quest gained (see below).

3) Cabilis Residents. The merchants. Quest for this one too.

4) Brood of Kotiz (Kortiz? sorry necromancers). The necro faction: important for wandering around the non-merchant half of Cabilis. Can get from killing "exiled" Iksar.

5) Um, Scaled Mystics? (Sorry shaman. Memory dying). The Shaman faction. Important if you get to close to the "castle" like building off Field of Bone.

6) Swifttails: the monks. Quest for this one.

So, you CAN get close to Cabilis if you've been levelling in Kunark, likely, eventually. But the Crusaders are going to aggro you.

However, Trooper Mozo is standing near the gate in the Field of Bone. Give him 4 bone chips (don't have to say anything unless you want, just fork 'em over). He'll insult you and give you some faction with 5 Cabilis factions (no Brood/necro). Expect to do this countless times....I've handed in literally around 500 chips and still have amiable faction to non-Legion.

Cheers, and good luck future brood brothers.

Does not modify
# Oct 23 2001 at 3:52 PM Rating: Decent
As far as I can tell, it does not modify factions. I tried to use it and so did a warrior friend, and it did not work. I have heard that since it was introduced it has been changed and will no longer change factions. Maybe the "All All" one will do it, but not the ones that are dropping today.
This is my story and I'm sticking to it.
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 17 2001 at 7:55 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) The blade of passage will make you indiff to cab, except the crusaders (CrusadersOfGreenMist) & the necromancers (BroodOfKotiz). The crusaders are on the CrusadersofGreenMist faction which can be gained via the bone chip quest in FOB (Field Of Bone) very easily, but very time consuming. The necromancers (BroodOfKotiz) can be gained factions with in only one way that I know of, goto warsliks woods and kill tons of renegade ikars. Another way to become indiff to cab is just kill sarnaks in LOIO (Lake Of Ill Omen) & OT (The OverThere), until it says "Your factions with LegionOfCabilis could not possibly get any better." At that point you will also be indiff to cab. The price on this weapon just made a giant leap from 102PP to 1.2KPP, because most either don't want to spend the time to build factions up, or simply can't spend the kind of time it takes to do so.
RE: Yes, this blade of passage does modify factions.
# Jun 09 2002 at 2:48 AM Rating: Default
I admit that my Kunark experiences are few and far between, but I have *never* in the game seen the message "Your faction with (insert_faction_here) could not possibly get any better". This being said, I have raised many faction to amiable, and a few to ally through killing mobs. I doubt the benefit to faction from killing sarnaks would stop at Indifferent.
RE: Yes, this blade of passage does modify factions.
# Oct 18 2001 at 1:30 PM Rating: Decent

FYI, I was doing the bone chip quest last night, it will modify both factions for you, also killing iksars in and around the newbie area also raises the factions. Iksar mauraders, bandits, etc. I walked in cabilis last night and unloaded tons of copper & silver from getting bone chips in kurn's tower. The Cabilis bankers "The Kloks", were friendly & very helpful. =)

Please post <here> if you have been able to enter Cabilis with KOS faction standing and not get attacked while this weapon is equipped.
RE: Attention!
# Oct 06 2001 at 8:54 PM Rating: Decent
I was able to enter the Cabilis when I had the Blade of Passage in my inventory, primary and/or secondary slots. It seems all you need to do is have it on your person and you are able to walk right into Cab.

HOWEVER...The Crusader(SKs) are KOS. I think they my must be a on some kind of different faction, maybe Crusaders of Greenmist faction. I dunno. The Blade of Passage must be an adjustment item to your your faction on Legion of Cabilis and Cabilis Residents faction. Merchants however con dubious but not KOS. I wonder if there is any other item like this to adjust the faction Crusaders of Greenmist faction.

An afterthought...If your holding this blade, the bonechip quest in FOB just got a whole lot easier.

Give up Balidin, if anyone posts here it's a lie. These things are called myths or Everquest Urban Legends, kinda like saying that blinding a mob will do something (some paladins are fools) or harmony will increase mana regen (don't worry paladins, dr00ds can be fools too) or that holding any item will affect your faction with anyone in any way. I doubt the game engine can even make it possible to posses or equip an item to change your faction otherwise enchanters and/or bards would have items like that.

The bit about Flash of Light:
AHEM! I have found it very useful. It is (1) a big taunt, (2) it decreases MoB's ATK, and (3) ever tried running around blind? It's funny to blind an opponent when you are in trouble. Blind it and step aside, then watch the MoB run off into the sunset-over your shoulder while running for the guards/zone in all likelyhood-and tell me it's not useful. Getting away from death is a good thing. However, it works best when soloing, so that you don't have to let everyone know that the MoB is gonna start running off. Oh, and the ATK drop is signinficant, a few less points of damage per hit from the MoB over the time it takes to kill a MoB my level (27th) adds up. Have fun!:)

Flash of light WILL make the mob run around aimlessly, if it's far enough away. If it's right on top of you beating on you it won't do anything in terms of its movement. It is a great taunt though, for just a few mana you can be the one getting hit. In my opinion this is more or less a PvP spell, you can win about any fight with just this spell and a fair amount of mana. I was playing on vallon zek once and I was beating up some dwarf, then some high elf paladin cast flash of light on him and he walked straight off the bank in Greater Faydark. I laughed for a while on that one.

I got one of these of a sarnak leggo. If I see anything carrying a weapon I normally kill it. I have been trying to sell it for a couple days now, and no one seems interested so I figured I would check on here to see how much it was worth. This rumor interests me though. I think I am going to try it after I get out of level 31 then I will post my findings here. Untill then.

I've had to restart my lvl 32 Paladin once,a nd I've gotten him up to lvl 26 today. Both times I have hunted in numerous occasions at the FD and BD and I must have killed hundreds of Sarnak Legionnaires. I have seen the Bracer of Hidden twice, but I have never seen this item EVER. I wonder if it varies from server to server since I've NEVER seen it on the Innoruk server.

Hmm got it on the roll last night, ran away from 7 recruits that jumped us at once I went LD, ended up in the middle of nowhere, ran in what I thought was the right direction (towards the only building I could see) into a crusader summat or other and died V quickly.

NO IT DIDNT WORK FOR ME!

RE: Is it really a blade of passage?

I'm betting the people that mysteriously have indifferent faction with the guards while using this weapon have simply killed enough sarnaks to get that faction, and simply didn't bother to check faction WITHOUT the sword equpped.

Really, have any of you checked your faction before *and* after having the weapon? hmm?

I have ally faction with the guards of qeynos! </sarcasm> It must be my silver bloodstone earring I just made! I should start auctioning them off for 1kpp on PvP servers! </sarcasm off>

I doubt it. Then everyone would try to get them, and they'd be like the most rare drop of the rarest mob in the game :D I doubt that just by wielding one the Iksars like you, but then again, I could be wrong. I just think it's a hoax.
