Is that still true? Can anyone confirm that it doesn't work in a Spell Research Kit?

It's the result of the practice route for skilling up the Research tradeskill (as opposed to skilling up by attempting to combine actual research components to craft actual spells). It doesn't do anything, so it won't be worth anything.
