The EASIEST way to get there.

The easiest way to get to Kael, by far, is to port to Wakening Lands - then have your porter immediately cast Lesser Succor. You will be evacked to the entrance to Kael! Furthermore, if you need to get to the EW side of Kael to join your party (or whatever other reasons) zone in to Kael with your porter, and cast succor again - you will be taken to the EW zone inside Kael.

Cheers!

The best way to get any of the eroded leather pieces, or corroded, or torn silk (ie. all the velium class armors) is to go to the arena in Kael Drakkal.

The easiest way to get there is to get a port to Wakening Lands and turn right as you zone in and run along wall until you come to a wall guarded by giants which will have an opening in the middle (alternatively you can have your porter succor you, which will put you right at Kael zoneline). After you zone in you can invis up and proceed to the 'see invis' line without worry.

On this Map of Kael Drakkal, the Arena is number 3 (just north of center) and the see invis line is basically along the horizontal line that is labeled 500 (right in front of the arena). Don't forget to con giants as you approach it, there may be one or two slightly further south. There you should all drop invis and get ready to pull. You will most likely get adds, so get ready to tank mezz (unstunnable/unmezzable like all giants) or charm... or you can just split them which shouldn't be very hard (monk/SK or paci). After the bridge you can go either left or right, it doesn't matter, and go immediately up the steps and you can call that camp, or you can crawl deeper into the arena, though I don't find that drops get more frequent in any particular spot. Have a monk or SK pull just in case you get adds. Drops are fairly frequent, probably 1 in every 10 - 15 kills in my experience. Keep in mind that tunics are the rarest, so you may have to spend quite a while to get one.

This outing will take you either a couple of mid to high 50s groups, and good 60s group can hold this spot fine also. Bring more for more fun, it's safer, and you can pull multiples for some fast action.

Good luck!

Alternatively, once you get to the see invis mobs you can pacify by them, I do this but only because I go there with my 64 Pally and 63 Druid. With just the 2 of us I can keep 6 or 7 giants cleared before I start to worry about repops. Unfortunately the drop rate on armor is completely random, there have been nights where not one piece dropped in a 4hr period and some nights where I would walk away with 5 pieces of armor.

I have been doing that camp for about a month or so and have only gotten 1 plate BP & legs and 1 silk robe & legs and a bunch of misc other stuff. And on a side note, I have only gotten one Silvery Belt of Contention to drop.
