Level Requirement?

I don't see anything in the item description or in this thread regarding a level requirement. The "Level to Attain" = 55, but what is the "Required/Recommended Level" to equip. This could be an incredible twinking item for a young monk if no restrictions.

There is currently neither a required level nor a recommended level on the item.

Just got these pants myself, here is what I have noticed.

On Luclin character models, they have the regular Monk armor look (like cured silk or crescent)

On classic character models, they actually have the Velious Monk armor look instead of regular (like Grand Master's or Enlightenment)

Besides how they have the look mentioned above, they also have a dark red color to them (Red=60, Green=20, Blue=20) as well.

These dropped on October 20th during a GM event on Veeshan. Lots of skeletons, djinn, a couple of dragons. Best fun I've had in this game for years, mobs dropped some items like the gnome illusion mask, those leggings, boots of flowing slime, a couple of 100% WR boxes, and some nice rewards for turn ins.
I love my new pants

Ornate only has 75hp...barb has 100....the effect on ornate is a level 44 shammy buff ( Stamina ) when u raid u have no need for buff and even in groups when u have a shammy u dont need buff so overall Barbarian skin leggings are better then ornate legs

Whilst stats are better on Barb, the Ornate has saves, which in the higher end game, are a saviour, and ornate is quiet a bit cheaper if you buy the FBSL

Umm an heres a sorta fun game to pass the time when waitin for a patch or a web page to up load or what not. NO down load so doesn't take up any precious EQ space.

Yes, there is stuff that is better. DPS is damage per second. The plane of tranquility ornate armor is much better... it is what i believe to be the best in the game, if anyone finds better... please tell me

To the newbies who think these won't be sold - wake up and join your server's auction channel.

Flayed barbarian skin leggings are sold twice a day. They drop all the time and almost every server has farmed this mob to the point of insanity.

Guilds don't cary tons of monks like they do clerics, so these legs soon find themselves in the guildbank just waiting to be sold to the open markey.

Depends what server you on, flamer, Keep in mind most servers didnt start dropping AoW till end of Velius, now if that server has one tier 1 guild, like most servers they are in VT now, and really could care less about doing AoW... In a guild of 70+ people(the size needed because HEY you wont have everyone on everyday) there are quite a few monks, and these pants arnt dropped all the time... So dont try and impress the little newbs scouring these boards.

He's right...They are sold quite often. Check out the guild website. We finally managed to drop the AoW and although he didn't drop the legs we've only got 3 really active monks in the guild to buy them if they DID drop *buy is with points not plat, high end guilds don't random stuff like this, you earn it*.

Given enough drops they will be sold. Saw a pair for 600k in the bazaar the other night.

Yeah the reason that it goes up more than is said on the item....is because of modifiers....Raw ac is better than agi....but usually as a rule of thumb itemACx1.5 equals what you see added to your overall AC
#mythla, Posted: Jul 21 2002 at 12:51 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I don't care what any of you say, this screams MONK! I mean, if this piece isn't monk wearable, then what will be? I dunno, for some reason Verant decided to make most AoW items tradable...no drop or tradable doesnt matter since no one would decide to sell'em... I seriously doubt I will get a better mask, but atleast since the mask has an illusion its fun to hand out to guildies and have a barbraid hehe

all classes get uber gear. to say, jokingly or otherwise, that your class gets the 'best' gear in the game is to say that you know very very little of any classes outside your own. Ever looked at gear for other classes? probably not?

Look at the date of the post. Its pre-PoP and if Im not mistaken, Pre-Luclin and pre-monk-nerf. His statement may have been valid at the time it was posted. Heck, even now they might still have the best raw stats for DROPPABLE pants of any class.

Wow! I'm suprised that barbarain skin can protect better then steel and other magical materials! I'm gonna go nude next time I get aggro for the awesome AC on a full set of barbarian skin! Well its probably because its been tanned and what not, so I'll just sunbath in a pool of mana for a day or two ;)

Seriously nice monk legs, so how's about this annoying line?

IT'S A BEASTLORD ITEM!

hehe
#Orocular, Posted: Mar 10 2002 at 1:56 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Actually, considering this item is for monks, and Beastlords are Shaman monk hybryds, I don't see why it shouldn't be a BL and monk item. It IS a feesable idea there, lol.

Agreed. The best leggings that Beastlord's can wear in terms of AC are the Ancient Wurm Hide Greaves at 46AC. So far, all the items that have been real important for monks, have been wearable by Beastlord's as well (besides the Quested Monk only armors). So yah, I agree that BST should be able to use. Too bad there's no Wis on it for them to use. hehe

Every Monk that MY Monk groups with on Povar is showing these off immedietly after the initial greeting. Like I'm going to sell my main's horse so a secondary character who'd hardly be able to generate much money even at 70 can stay alive 15 seconds longer in a wipe.
