Given the extreme rarity of the two mobs needed to complete the quest that produces this item, I'd say a person was better off just buying a well-balanced scimitar from Shady in East Commons, a Coldain velium scimitar in Thurgadin or even a mob-dropped velium scimitar from another player depending on their budget.
Face it, by the time a druid is high enough to do the quest, s/he won't be doing much melee anymore anyway. You'll be using it mainly to finish things off =after= they have gone into flee mode so you don't need to waste any mana on another nuke. Face it, druids at this level have lousy AC, and they don't generally do very well in toe-to-toe melee battles with the mobs they would be hunting for XP. That's a tactic they need to learn to give up as they pass through their teens.
As a druid, rather than doing this quest, I'd say that you'd be better off investing your time doing other things, even if you do get lucky enough to bump into both Groi and Tiny the Timbur. I've spent a huge amount of time hunting in both SK and NK and I've only seen Groi once, and I've never, ever seen Tiny.
As evidence of the fact that these mobs are rare, try to find info on them online. There isn't much out there, guys. And looking for price quotes on this scimitar is a joke. As I write this there hasn't been one, single price quote entered here for it, and this item has been in game for nearly 3 years! That suggests that it is very VERY rare that anybody gets one of these.
And as others here have already pointed out, the pack alone is probably worth more than the scimitar.
I am curently a 26 druid and I am already a pure caster. I used a screaming mace when I was lower in levels because it has the same ratio and is easier to get. This quest is a waste of time if you are doing it at level 25.
As a level 40 druid, I am going to do this quest. Why you ask? Because I need 1hs up. This thing is perfect, magic and 22 delay. Yes I agree that if you were looking to use this as your weapon 100% of the time, a lot of the 1hb would be better (I have a springwood club, nice wis and some str too). Anyways, just wanted to point out a use for this weapon.
Get a fading shadow scimitar. Similar ratio, adds some minor stats, and they drop like candy in ToFS. Or you could buy one off someone coming out of the tower, probably for cheap, as most sell them to merchants for 5pp or so. OF course at 40, you could easily survive ToFS in a group. I beleive we had lots of them drop in the library (and if you get lucky, you'll end up with an awesome range slot item from the enraged librarian.)

I'd have to agree...wisdom over melee...and both plus some fast attack with this mace...the rest should be turned in for cash to pay for priceless spells.
6/22 may be good but if you're a druid and you melee you're a ******.
get a velium etched stone mace so you can benefit from the wis. and if you need to practice 1hs, get the druid wearable claw. at 9/24 it blows that gay solvedi scimi away. in fact it weilds like a freakin' yakesha for druids (plus it adds 3 to agi).

Leaves a little less to be desired, though, because I haven't had to melee since I hit 14... But, this is a good weapon for when you've got something on the ropes and you just hack it down from behind to conserve mana.

granted, it's not worth getting when you could have the quest items...and I'd still rather have my Crystalized Shadow Scimitar(with stats), which would take a while to find a seller, but still more worth it...
other words...if you can find an idiot selling this, go for it...you didn't lose the shield and bag -=P This is worth using, but getting, nah...
exactly. Look at the components. Why waste all that time to get them and then turn them in and waste it on this thing? The backpack is better then an archeologists pack and the shield-well, sandal-is a nice item(until you get your testament). So the weight is nice, and so is the dam/dly ratio, but there are better items! If you sold the backpack i bet you could get a few kpp, and then you can get yourself something maybe 5x better.
