This has the highest strings modifier in the game (2.4). The only thing that is higher is Puretone.

Not anymore. There are some new lutes in Veeshan's Peak (Lyran's Mystical Lute and Lute of Phara Dar or something like that) with modifiers of 2.5. This has a strings mod of 2.4.

And now that level 5 orcs are dropping Orcish Lute of Singing, with a mod of 2.5, and you can get them for 300pp or so if you are lucky (on MT server at least), other than the stats and weight why would you bother?

As for stats, the dex is always helpful, but the CHA isn't all that helpful for me as I charm / swarm with my drum equiped for selos and chants. Sure you can selos and chant with a lute but the song effects are weak singing. Take you forever to chant and singing selos will get you killed when trying to outrun level 45+ mobs. OUCH.

*EDIT* Per Reed Stormwind's latest update (and last =( you will be missed!) the orc lute dropped to 2.1 mod, which is no better than the gypsy lute. Oh well, I must retract the statement I made above, get this if you can, it rocks as I thought the orc lute did.

This lute is primary equipable, with a large string mod which are very valuable to bards without their epics. This lute allows a bard to get the lute mod from switching it in for a second before the song goes off and then switch back a weapon while meleeing.You cant do that with secondary lutes without switching out both of your weapons which will make for some difficult twisting. Of course after a bard has their epic none of that matters because they wont need to switch in a lute while meleeing.

Kelin`s Seven Stringed Lute is not primary equipable, unless it was changed when Plane of Hate was upgraded. I got mine before the upgrade and it's secondary only.

I was on a PoH Raid and this dropped and we had to let it decay just like all the Bard armour that dropped..It was a shame that there were no Bards up there..But on the other hand there was only one Shammie and the Shammie BP dropped hehe...well good hunting and safe journey to you all.

I tested the level 55 bard song Cantata of Replenishment with a store lute and this lute and the HP regen difference was 4 HP (24 vs 28), so that's what.. about a 16-17% increase to string songs? Better than nothing.
