I just bought one...on, of all servers, Strommm the very overpriced newbie server...for 7500pp. Had no idea it was ultra rare, just liked the stats for twinking my enchanter, no recommended level and Cha...better in this case than a Bulwark. Oh and by the way...graphic is the win, gold snake down the middle - Rocks! Anyone know if this thing is dropping again?

I'm on the quellious server and I know of only 2 of these on the server.Does the insignia protector even drop anymore?I know the queen has been taken down countless times in recent days (since verant improved the zone).chardok is camped big time anymore and I was just wondering? Another item in question is,"The Girdle of Rapidity".This is a drop off the Auditor,so they say? (never seen one myself).

I don't know if it still drops but I got one last wednesday or thursday (can't remember which) from a GM run event in Dreadlands. Was suprised to get called out for a reward, ended up with a Shiny Metallic Robes and then this thing, amazed the heck out of me. I love it, be awhile before it gets replaced, especially since I'm only level 49.

I am a Mage pure caster lvl 51, and i regain concentration probaly 2/3 of the times i get hit during casting. I believe that to be a tolerable ratio. More often than not. My wis is only 80

Interupts seem to depend a lot on your movement.(ie loc)If you move from being hit you massively increase your chance of being interupted.
The reason you sometimes fail if you cast too soon after moving is that the server has not been told you stopped before casting(assumption).Hence the change direction/turn trick before casting gives a loc update to server.Anyway this leads me to suspect it is as much the change in loc as the actual getting hit that affects recovery. If dex/ac helps you avoid getting hit and avoid being moved by said hit(because it missed) then indeed it does affect interrupts.Although I would never dispute that channelling ability is critical to channel through hits that land.I just think dex/ac helps you avoid a skill check against channelling to start with.
#Dagrinch, Posted: Oct 10 2001 at 3:13 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I am on the Rathe server and if anyone wants to trade or sell one I am offering good trades and off course money talks. Give me a tell at the name below.
#Wilor, Posted: Sep 10 2001 at 2:50 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Int Casters can use wisdom in one positive way - Wisdom is the stat that determines how often you continue casting after an interruption. Most pure casters never see "you regain concentration and continue casting" but ask your local cleric how often they see it with their maxed out wisdom.

Totally wrong!! The ONLY thing that effects recovery of casting is the Channeling skill. Verant confirmed this before when they stated how differant stats worked and what they did. The ONLY thing wisdom effects is mana for wis casters.

I believe (not totally sure) that if your wisdom is higher than INT all your trade skills will use WIS to gain skill and for success rolls. If your INT is higher it will use that stat.

Also, most clerics that can channel casts through being hit also have ac rivaling that of the warriors they are healing, makes those hits much easier to handle. Besides, my wizard channels through and regains concentration more times than I want to admit with things like root and final killing nukes, his wis though is bottomed out in the gutter :p

See if you can kill her first. I guarantee that unless you are in a very powerful guild you won't even see the queen hit the floor to loot her to then roll for this shield. And seeing as how it's her rarest drop... sorry guys. Dream on.
Wisdom?

Its a nice item and all but what is the point in it having +10 Wisdom?

The only classes that can use it are Enchanter, Wizard, Magician and Necromancer, all 4 of these classes dont use wisdom...

Other than that, sweet item.

I once read that wisdom helps resist fear and increases the chance of breaking fear earlier.I have no proof of this.

This is Verant at its best -- providing worthless stats to every class. The Chardok queen is not THAT hard -- perhaps you've heard of a little thing called STRATEGY? It means you go in there with a plan, not just nuking and hacking away like morons. You know who you are -- you've been walking indiscriminately into my camps and KSing me since my first character was about level 10. Obviously the Queen can be killed --but Verant isn't going to make it easy. I agree the warrior epic is not the best weapon in the game, but there is a certain amount of prestige involved. For those of us to which this game means something, it represents the completion of a long and involved quest, complete with dragon and plane raids. Just my opinion, but the quest for "uber loot" is much less meaningful to me than being able to say I completed my epic with the help of my guild.

you are all missing a very important stat...
The AC. some of us Chanters with maxed out cha and int, are looking to advance our AC. and 20 is a very nice number IMHO...

As stated by VI, success rate only depends on your skill level in the skill. The greater of Int or Wis in this case only affects your chances of increasing that skill.

The same is true with Channeling too, Dex affected the chance of raising the skill but did not affect the success of the skill at all.

And jewelry (or any other trade skill for that matter) uses whichever is higher. So there really is no point unless somehow their wis is going to surpass their int with this item.

Nope you are wrong. As Wrexen stated tradeskills use whichever is higher, int or wis.
Lots of people still believe that wis affects succes rate and int leveling rate, but that was a misunderstood.

# Jan 07 2001 at 6:30 PM Rating: Default
how much does anyone think this would sell for? 20ac, 5cha, 10int, 20 mana and 10 to 3 saves. it is caster only however. well, i would imagine more then 20k as a GBS will sell for 15-20k and thats 9int and 10 save vs magic, whereas this has 1 more int, 2 more +10 saves, and 20 more ac, and looks like the sarnak battle shield on an int caster. wow.
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 14 2001 at 5:20 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) The first thing I noticed about this is I think it's fake. I dunno about you guys, but when I see Sv Magic on an item, I don't see it in all capital letters, because, well, it's not abbreviated. Sorry if I'm wrong about all you others, but on mine, it doesn't look like that.

Sorry bud, noone would ever sell one of these. At least not any time soon, or for anything less than like a cloak of flames or other item worth like 70k+

Maybe in a few months people might kill her more but at this time, noone will sell this.
