I happened to have one of these on me when i was attacked by a pker, after running from him for a little while (he was a ranger), i remember it, i got it out, turned around and click click click he was dead in like 2 seconds, he then proceeded to whine for about an hour that i cheated. Guess he learned not to mess with mages with these wands, too bad they are lore.

This item only has 3 charges, so it basically sucks. Too bad you can't recharge it (unless I'm wrong). I'd advise only using it in a desperate situation (ubermob down to 1/100 of its health or something and only a few people left alive).
*shrug* The way I look at this, its like a HT for Mages. If you're sitting and medding cos youre OOM and something jumps you, CLICK CLICK CLICK, and most likely, it's dead. With ID IV, thats well over 2000 damage, instantly.

It can be held in primary or secondary melee slots.
It looks like a gnome glow rod, or a foot long crystal staff with a purple jewel on top.
I got one last night on my very first Hate raid, along with Apothic gloves, boots and crown.
We had a great group of people there.

Did you get most of your apothic on first or second floor? I've heard that more drops on second floor but a robe rotted once on the first floor =(
