Ah, the wonderful black powder...it drops in Mistmoore LDON's...it does not stack, so each one takes up an inventory slot.

What is it for?

Nothing! - So far no quest has been associated with this, and it ISN'T the powder that you need for the beastlord spell. As of this writing, it is still not associated with any tradeskill either.

What is it worth?

Nothing!

Tradeskill value: none
NPC vendor value: none
Tribute vendor: nope!

Casting identify on it simply returns the name "black powder" so it is unlikely to be a part of some obscure quest either.

Let it rot on the corpse or delete it.

There are a few purposeless items like this from the LDoN zones. I assume that they were intended as filler to make the loot drops more colorful, so to speak. While there is something to be said for that, players prefer an item to have utility. Or else, failing that, resale value.

Same as of 2/11/11...still unstackable, and still of no value to vendors or related to any sort of quest

Found these still in Mistmoore Catacombs during LDoN. Anyone know what they are for? You cannot sell them at vendors.

I looted these at lvl 27 in the LDoN we got from Butcherblock so it can be found at a lvl a lot lower than 60 something. I also have no idea what it is for but don't think that will stop me from overpricing it. I am going to list it at 20K just to see if a tinkerer gets drunk and buys it.
Got 2 today in a LDoN

Just got 2 of these in a Mistmoore LDoN (5/13/05) so they are still in the game. Do they have any value?
It IS still in the game

Just an update here on this. A Strange Dark Powder dropped in Dulak is the component for the 44 Bst spell Malaria. Still no ideas for the Black powder-grrrr
An FYI

Had a 56lvl BL tell me it's used for a quest for a 44lvl BL spell. Other than that no merchants want it. Hope this helps)
Black Dye?
# Oct 18 2003 at 2:27 AM Rating: Decent
Any chance this is for making black dye for the new LDoN armor?
RE: Black Dye?
# Nov 07 2003 at 2:23 AM Rating: Decent
Highly doubtful,
a) With the Legacy of Ykesha expansion, armor dyes became kinda useless, since you could dye any piece of armor, whatever color you wanted.
b) Not tradeskill item flagged.

Still, a very curious item... I think more will be found out as people have enough victories here in the Mistmoore Catacombs, perhaps a quest will turn up...

I looted 1 of thses with my Beast in MM adventure. Going to head to Gunthak for Beast spell Maliaria and see if this black powder is the same you need for that quest.
Hmm....

I've got about a backpack-full of these things. I tried to sell them (no luck of course) and I noticed there's no tradeskill tag... the conclusion I've come to is that they are for some hand-in quest. I've yet to figure out to whom they would be handed in to, but hey, I'm just the idea man :)
Tasty Black Powder

I've got some of these too, and the only thing I can think of is that they're meant to be sellable. They aren't tradeskill marked, so other than say... eat them... I can't see what they're for :)

That is the problem I ran into. I tried to sell them and the merchant would give me "absolutely nothing" for this item=( Oh, well...

Yes, it's in the world and has been for centuries, rumor has it that on an undiscovered continent "firesticks" have been seen.

Funny though. Only thing to note is that Gan-Green is caused by infection of a wound left open, which can occur if the ball is left in but not necesarily true... Anyway, over analiyzing LOL that would be interesting, speically in guild wars =D
