I sold this a few days ago. I received 18.5 k for it. That may be a little high because the buyer has not resold it for several days; however one other merchant has had it for sale for 24k.

This item's value certainly approaches that, however, because you can put your haste item in the range slot.

According to the official SOE web site, the haste on this item has been fixed. So no longer will you see the 1-2% but what it should be. So if it truely IS 22% I'll keep it.
Selling my SCHW
# Sep 21 2003 at 11:46 AM Rating: Good
Greetings all, first time poster here,
Saw 2 of these drop in consecutive missions in Rujarkian hills today. Won the roll on the second..woohoo! Tested it in two different ways to try and determine its value. Not perfect, but I'm happy with the results. First test:
Killin rickhoppers and lookin at DPS in EQcompanion. Killed 10 Dark Blue in each of the following configurations: With SCHW, With Torch, and with no haste item, and then checked DPS.

No Haste: 10.3 DPS ( I know, I'm pathetic for meleeing 53 bard, but my drum dots rock:))

SCHW: 12.7 DPS

Torch: 13.1 DPS

Not a flawless test by any means, with level differences in the mobs and all, but it shows that they are at least comparable.

Next I equipped only one weapon in my primary slot, and timed how long it took me to swing 10 times. (Yes, I had WAAAAAY to much free time yesterday) Anyway, with an LSOEE, it took me about 14.7 ish seconds to swing 10 times with the sword alome, 11.5ish seconds to swing with the SCHW and 10.9ish with the torch. Granted, there is slop there with me hittin autoattack and my stopwatch at the same time..lol, but the fact that the torch had at least respectable haste seemed apparent to me.

So, I'm keeping it, and fairly pleased with it. I just kinda came up with these tests on my own because I was A. curious, and B. bored. I'd imagine there are more thorough testing methods out there, and I'd be interested in the details. Well, anyhoo, thanks for reading, and FLAME AWAY!!

#REDACTED, Posted: Sep 19 2003 at 9:02 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I think I have an idea where these negatives reviews are coming from. If you look in the bazaar and watch auctions closely, those who own the old school haste items are trying to sell them as fast as they can. They know that a fresh batch of items will be flooding the market and this torch happens to be one of them. Honestly, the powers that be (those guild leaders who use those under them to gather powerful items for themselves) want you to think this item is worthless. After all, if it truely is 36% then that cloak of flames they're trying to sell for 50k now has contender, and that's bad for business.
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 02 2003 at 5:57 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) i think riddle that your negative result come from the fact you are

It's funny Riddle, you haven't posted your toon name, guild and server. I have, and I stand by my parse. So are you all talk or you actually some level 40 who just wishes he actually had one of these so-so items? BTW - nice job ******** up the pricing, 65k my butt.

Judging from the quality of TheRiddle's posts, and how he focuses more on insulting other posters than laying out his methodology for calculating the haste, he is calculating it wrong (or was he just quoting the person who said he thinks somebody 63 in his guild said 36%). There is no way haste is 36% and now Alla's has it at 22%, and they get their stats from Lucy and Lucy gets it straight from EQ memory. So stop trying to jack up the price, TheRiddle, and let's use some real data from a real program like Lucy or Magelo that does it right, or some parsed logs.

Everything 36% or higher comes off raid level mobs, including Nagafen and Vox. SoE has always made haste relatively hard to get (rare drops off rare spawns). No way they put 36% haste on an item that would drop twice of Spiritbound mobs in Rujarkian hills in a 48-53 dungeon. Dream on. Go back to Asheron's Call.

1% or More????
# Sep 19 2003 at 8:30 AM Rating: Decent
Now im really confused about this item. I got mine with a group of low 50's. Im an enchanter and won the roll it would go good on my Sk. but i really need the plat. I keep hearing 1% everywhere and ill be lucky to get 200pp for it. But if its 36% or even 22% its worth alot more. Anyone have any info on whats correct.
Not 36%

I had TWO drop during ONE Rujarkian hills collection mission, and I'm 51 and was the second highest level in the group. I won the roll on one of them. At a recommended level of 45, they are not going to put CoF haste on it. 22% would be wonderful by itself. And with recommended level, the haste is going to get better if you are over level 45 than the best haste the item can provide. They dropped off of dark blue to me casters. I'll wait to find out the exact haste, but I'd bet it's not 36%.

#REDACTED, Posted: Sep 19 2003 at 1:38 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) wow, two in one mission you say? you won on one of the rolls you say? your guessing that it's 22% you say? wow, i wish i had a single platinum for every time i've heard "yeah, i have one" or even better, just a gold for every know it all i've run in to. i have it, i've tested it, i've seen it for myself. i'll believe that over your "guess" any day. :)
Clocked this at 22% Haste..
# Sep 18 2003 at 5:44 AM Rating: Good
I used EQCompanion and clocked this at 22% haste last night. Not bad for a range item level 50's can get. I'm fairly impressed.
#REDACTED, Posted: Sep 18 2003 at 6:16 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) you may have used EQCompanion to clock the torch at 22% haste, what you failed to mention was your level. Haste is relative to the level of the user, if you were to low, you are not getting items full haste. What you have done is confuse people into thinking this item is 22% when in fact it is 36% If you have found one of these items, WTG! It's definately more valuable then a Cloak of Flames!

I submitted this item to Magelo a week ago. Currently it is showing 1% haste and will continue to show that Haste untill it is updated through Magelo. By the way, the item was on my 63 paladin when I submitted it. A friend of mine told me he parsed it to be 36%. I hope that is the case. =)

#REDACTED, Posted: Sep 19 2003 at 9:09 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) our physical testing of the item concur with your friends findings as well. 36% stands as our assessment of it's abilities.
#REDACTED, Posted: Sep 15 2003 at 2:49 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This is a sweet item. This item dropped on an adventure I was on and got lucky and won the roll. This is a nice item for my warrior.
#REDACTED, Posted: Sep 15 2003 at 6:09 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) It's hopefully wrong but here's what Magelo has to say:
RE: This is a sweet item
# Sep 16 2003 at 12:10 AM Rating: Decent
It's at 1% haste because they know that there IS haste, it's just hasen't been parsed yet... think of it as a placeholder. When they figure out the haste, it'll change
RE: This is a sweet item
# Sep 16 2003 at 10:34 AM Rating: Decent
You dont have to parse to find the haste. Programs like Magelo Update and Lucy's item updater look at the memory allocated by EQ and can see stuff like haste percentage on items (also light levels given off & if it has a proc, what level it procs at). If Magelo says its currently 1%, it is 1%. I'm guessing the item is just currently bugged

If the first person to get one that had magelo dropped it on a low level alt, it would show 1% haste because it has a recommended level. Somebody who is 45+ needs to wear it and parse it so we can really know what it's worth. I got it in Rujarkian hills. Two dropped on the crawl.

Why would you have an item with 1% haste?
RE: This is a sweet item
# Sep 15 2003 at 3:55 PM Rating: Decent
I won the drop off of a Spiritbound Mystic.

We had a full group of mid to low 50's.

Does anyone know the haste percentage?

To me, on one of my other chars, it feels faster then her FBSS.

BTW: What would be a good price for this?
