Level Cap?

Beastlord's Den isn't around for me poke about ask questions. Anyone know if there's a level cap the DPoC won't work on?

For instance, my Level 70 Spell -- Spirit of Rashara -- summons a level 66 warder. If I have a DPoC, can I expect any improvement to my warder, or, does the effect not apply after a certain level of summoned pet?

1: Pet Power Increase (15)
2: Limit: Max Level(70)
3: Limit: Min Level (59)

Meaning the spell must be at least level 59 for the focus to work and no higher than level 70. Your spell should have no issues.

Does summoners Boon stack with Minion of Eternity?

Worn focii do not stack, period. I don't know about casted focii (Blessing of faith + a worn cast time reduction), but worn never stack. This is a pet power increase, MoE is a pet power increase. They can't stack.

Just got this today and i love it puppy is alot stronger and more powerful. Everyone should get this aug that can. I know DoN has a better one at 70th lvl but you can always sell back the aug after you get the DoN one.

let me explain this augment to you all, so noone lies to you, i am a 69 mage. i have this pet focus ( yes still ). 66+, the only focus on the pet would be the incredible regen rate on the pets, the 66 air pet with THIS focus regens 450 hps a tick, when NOT ingaged in fighting. the 67 water pet regens 500 hps a tick. but anyone having the 67 water pet should very well know that it has a HUGE regen rate, therefor the aug increasing it would make this a uber pet. but the water pet should most likely be used in a grp therefor it being more DPS in a group. only if you have a good tank sitting there keeping aggro so your pet is staying behind the mob. hope this helps :)
works
# Mar 07 2005 at 6:17 PM Rating: Decent
i confirmed this today with my necro.
i have the lvl 67 pet and without an haste he hits for max 90.
with the new high lvl haste he hits for 93 max and with this aug he hits for 97 max. not sure if it raises the level of him or not but he does for a fact hit harder.

Pet Levels
# Nov 08 2004 at 7:37 PM Rating: Default
The Beastlord, using his level 62 summon pet spell can summone a level 49 pet, using his level 64 pet summon spell, he can get a level 51 pet.

The Nec, using his level 63 pet summonespell, gets a level 63 pet, and using the Nec's level 65 pet spell, he gets a level 65 summoned pet.

The Mage ... I am not sure what thier level pets can be summmoned using the Mages level 60 plus pet summoning spells. If a Mage will post what the level of thier pets are, using thier level 60 plus summoning spell, I'd be interested in comparing the 3 classes pets, that can use the Diamond Prism.

The Diamond Prism, has to be based on the level of the player and not the level of the summoned pets.
RE: Pet Levels
# Dec 20 2004 at 5:11 PM Rating: Decent
hmmmm, not really;
Without DPOC, beastlord level 62, summons a level 60 pet, and the level 64 spell also summons a level 60 pet "with more HP, higher max hit".

With DPOC, level 62 spells summoms a level 60 pet, and level 64 spell summons a level 61 pet.

Besides testing this myself several times, reference chart:
http://www.beastlords.org/forums/index.php?topic=332.0

I've tested test b4 and after the last several patches, with no change in levels, from when I originally obtained level 62 and PDOC back in August 2004, currently level 65.
RE: Pet Levels
# Nov 09 2004 at 3:22 AM Rating: Decent
hmm, my beastlords 62 and 64 pets both conned even to level 60 PC's.

The level limit in the focus effect is like all other focus effects, related to the level of the spell being cast, i.e. the 60 pet spell, or 62 or whatever.

I can confirm that this has in fact been nerfed to not augment pets post 65. I have the 66 air pet and it hits for the same dmg with or without the diamond prism equipped. Also the pet is not visually larger like the 65 and lower pets are when summoned with this.

So if u want a pet focus for post 65 pets, this is not the item for you.

DPoC
# Jul 28 2004 at 6:14 AM Rating: Decent
A few questions regarding the DPoC

1-Can I aug my earring of solstice with this item? If I do, do I have to hold earring while summoning pet or will the effect on my summoned pets work if I just wear the earring?

2-Do you have to use ALL North Ro points to purchase Aug?

3-Does the Aug work on Epic Pets?

Any responses to these questions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I have a 65 Mage and just got this item. untill i got it my epic pet always coned Light blue to me but with this aug it cons dark blue so yes it works on the epic pet.
RE: DPoC
# Feb 03 2005 at 3:37 PM Rating: Decent
my experience with all clickies (epic and otherwise) is that the level of the spell (not what comes out- like the pet) is dependant on the level of the caster.

like kilva's skin of flame, or whatever the DS potion is.

so the dpoc would certainly work on epic pet, from my understanding of eq.
RE: DPoC
# Sep 07 2004 at 8:51 AM Rating: Decent
I have read otherwise. Please see www.magecompendium.com for more details and make your own opinion. I think the epic is an exception. Also note that the pet conned light blue to the above poster before the aug was placed and now it's dark blue. That tells me that magecompenium is correct in the table that shows the pet level increased from 49 to 50 with the aug.

The Scoop
# Jun 03 2004 at 3:38 AM Rating: Excellent
This was mainly for the higher end classes, hince recommended level. This has no impact on any pet below 60 and in some cases, beastlords for example, only affects their level 62 and level 64 pets. With an actual increase in the level 64 pet to be an even con to level 61. There was a patch in late march that made these so.

Quote:
Pets
--------------------------
60+ player pets have been improved in a number of ways. Most notably, the effects of pet foci will be more dramatic as a player progresses with more powerful equipment. There have also been a number of inconsistencies between different tiers of pet foci that have been fixed. All of the existing foci should never show a power decrease in any aspect when upgrading from a lower tier foci to a higher tier foci. The most dramatic changes in pet stats are in the following aspects:

Level - Most tiers of Foci will add one level to the pet.
Max HP - Most tiers of foci will add max hit points to the pet, some tiers are more dramatic than others and follow a similar rate of progression to player characters as they gain equipment equivalent to the pet focus items.
Mitigation (AC, Agility) -- Most tiers of foci will add mitigation to the pet. Some tiers are more dramatic than others and follow a similar rate of progression to player characters as they gain equipment equivalent to the pet focus items.
Damage Output - Generally the pets did not receive a significant change in their damage output, although there are certain pets that have had their max hit and offense increased.

Overall, the player pets have received a significant boost. There are instances where you will see no change in a specific aspect of a specific pet. For example, the Rathe's Son pet summoned with Minion of Eternity has not received an improvement in max hit points, but it has received a significant mitigation improvement.

These changes affect the pets summoned by the following spells:

Ward of Xegony
Child of Ro
Servant of Marr
Rathe's Son
Legacy of Zek
Saryrn's Companion
Child of Bertoxxulous
Spirit of Sorsha
Spirit of Arag

The most profound changes were made to the magician pets as they were most in need of improvement to maintain class balance. Beastlord and necromancer pets also received upgrades, but not of the same magnitude.

-- The EverQuest Team

These spells actually got increased pets.

And to answer the last posters question, once pet is summoned with a augment, you can put the augment away until your pet dies. Once focused it will remain focused.
do stats stay?
# May 19 2004 at 2:23 AM Rating: Decent
If i put aug onto a weapon, cast pet, then change weapon, do the stats still stay on pet? everyone i ask says diff !!! help. thx in advance
RE: do stats stay?
# Jun 07 2004 at 11:50 AM Rating: Decent
Yes the Aug will affect the pet as you summon it and wont change after you put the weapon into your backpack. Mages have been doing this for quite some time as some of the pet focus items were useless aside from the focus. Equip item, cast, reinventory and your pet is still focused.
Duration?
# May 08 2004 at 3:38 AM Rating: Decent
So what's with the 3min - 3 hour duration? When you cast your pet do you see an effect? Does it change the Level of your pet? say lvl 60 pet becomes lvl 61 when cast with augment? Any one know anything about duration?
RE: Duration?
# May 18 2004 at 6:51 AM Rating: Decent
38 posts
Yes...level 60 pet becomes 61. The visible effect is that the pet is much larger.
There is no "duration". The pet remains that level until the pet dies.
Size Increase?
# May 05 2004 at 5:56 PM Rating: Decent
I have the aug on my range item, I can see the increase in the attack and hit points. Now, I have read MUCH about people claiming their pet size increases. I have observed carefully my warder's size before summoned with and without the aug and seen no difference in size. Perhaps my perception is damaged, I dunno. The pet I summon is the 64 Sorsha Beastlord pet. Any Beastords want to add their thoughts or experiences to this?
Odd
# Apr 09 2004 at 9:39 AM Rating: Decent
Let's see if I understand Sony's logic sequence. Enchanter "pets" are minimally useful forcing us to always charm or dire charm something (or do without). But, this item only affects summoned pets. Ok, fine. But, this item might actually make our summoned pets somewhat more useful. SO... enchanters are excluded from usable classes. :)

What can I say? I'm just jealous. I'll just get it for my necro, I guess.
#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 25 2004 at 8:41 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) WTF ?!
RE: Odd
# May 17 2004 at 12:12 PM Rating: Decent
Uhm, you can't stack those hastes. You get stats/atk from SoV only with both spells on. And these spells are not pet only we can buff OTHER CLASSES pets also. Be happy.

And DC is an AA skill. Which other classes get also.

And show me how many DC pets hit in the 300's.

Yes, Enchanters are secondary pet classes, we don't get foci for the Ginsu.

How does it work on BL pets?
# Mar 20 2004 at 4:22 AM Rating: Good
I have a 59 Beastlord that is close to earning this aug. Now i have to ask about the minimum level of 59. Which can mean 3 things. It can mean the minimum level of the caster, spell or pet. Meaning that it works if the player casting it is level 59(meaning any pet spell used would work just so long as the player is 59+) It could mean the minimum spell level is 59(so our lvl 60,62 and 64 pets would be the only ones to get the focus) Or that the pet level must be 59+(which would make it only work on our lvl 62 and 64 spells) Ive heard several different answers from several people and would like to know if anyone knows the facts for certain.

RE: How does it work on BL pets?
# Apr 23 2004 at 2:16 PM Rating: Decent
it means the lvl of the spell to be used itself. not the lvl of your pet. this works for all pet spells starting from lvl 59 and on up. basically all of the necro Spectre pets would be enhanced by this aug. so Emmissary of Thule, Legacy of Zek, Sayryn's Companion, and Child of Bertoxx.
RE: How does it work on BL pets?
# Mar 31 2004 at 1:31 PM Rating: Decent
It's the level of the pet, with one exception, magician epic pet is focused with it even though it is much lower than 59.

Also, do you only need to be wearing the item with summoner's boon in it when you summon your pet or do you need it on you constantly?

RE: Lemme get this straight ...
# Mar 10 2004 at 8:23 PM Rating: Good
Also, you just need to have this equipped when summoning. It's like casting a DD with a focus on, unequipping that focus, and healing the mob because they want to take back the dmg.

I honestly don't know about DoTs (though I suspect the same as above), but summoning a pet is an INSTANT duration spell.

#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 19 2003 at 10:29 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) The problem I have playing a mage is that, overall they offer very little to a group or a raid. About the only thing most 60+ level raids will require from a mage is CoH! Face it, as mages go we're not setup for high level raiding. Every supposed upgrade magicians have had from the expansions, is really stuff that's been added as an after though. These are ablilities that we should of had from the start. The spells that are bearly worth having are all 60th or higher, and tend to be far too specialized to be used often. (These spells need to have the level requirements lowered, IMO)
RE: Magicians are not so Magicial
# Dec 20 2003 at 2:59 PM Rating: Default
Necos, BLs, Chanters, druids, SKs, and other mages can all have controlable pets though a spell or AA ability (such as dire charm). Giving a muzzle to a raid that has 20 of these classes (All are fairly common classes) greatly increases the effectiveness of a raid where pet damage is relied upon heavily. Also, if you take Mage pet DPS + Mage bolt DPS (Provided is it not immune to fire) you get a DPS that is comparable to the Necromancer's over a period of about 30 to 60 seconds. Mages rock and if I had a choice between making a mage or making a wizzy I'd go Mage everyday.

I've seen good analysis concluding that 65 mage and 65 necros with good equipment were bothly roughly equivalent at around 230 DPS taking into consideration both pet and spell damage. If thats the case, the only other decision is whos utility spells are a better match - and whether you need a mana battery.
