This is another item I also foraged in EF LDoN, along with some drachling silks. Neither one of them are tagged 'may be used for tradeskills' so I'm way confused ;))

i am looking as i type at the egg case cocoon in my inventory, it is no longer flagged as 'used in tradeskills' if it ever was. i dont think ive ever seen it say that but i only started playing in december 04
Confirmed no longer flagged as used in tradeskills. Icon hasn't changed, info still accurate other than to remove the useable in TSkills line.

As of mid-August 04, egg case cocoon continues to be listed as a tradeskills item but there is no known use posted here or in EQ Traders.
So the fun part is to speculate and experiment. My guess is that the silkworm is the "template" for egg case cocoon - which would suggest having to soak the fiber from the eggs. I tried mixing it with water, but that didn't work, so the next step is to find a different fluid to soak it in...

I'm thinking tailoring. Being as it's a cocoon, and not the eggs themselves. I'm foraging them by the stacks too, and still havn't found a use for them.

No offense, but don't think because it is made of silk it is for tailoring. Who would have expected gargoyle granite to be used in brewing?

Gargoyle granite is only used in brewing to make tempers for smithing. So in the end it is a smithing item, not a brewing one.
EQTraders, as mentioned below, has no recipes listed for it. EQ itself says it is for some sort of tradeskill. Hmm... are similar items to this used for other purposes? Poison perhaps? It is by thinking along these lines and experimenting that we find the answers and are able to post them on places such as Allakhazam and EQTraders. Alas, I have no poison making skill and can't fathom any use it might have otherwise. Trial and experimentation, post your observations here please. Thanks!

so far, eqtraders has no information on what recipe uses the egg case cocoon.

Ok, foraging the heck outta these.. not to mention spider silk there which keeps me from being price gauged in bazaar...but when and where can we find out what all this new forage stuff is for??
