A better range slot item is the Ebon War Spear. This is an easy item to get, fits in the range slot, and can be used for melee if required. It is also only about 200-300pp so attainable at mid - lower levels.

Since this is the only cheap AC item a shaman can wear in the ranged slot, its actually quite good!
I havn't heard of any other good ranged items for shamans that doesn't cost several thousand pp. Feel free to correct me if im wrong?:)

This is the AC deity, not WIS. That's why it's cheap.
