Ancient Tome of Necromantic Magic  

 

They nerfed the tribute on this item by over half. You now only get 675 pts for this book and I used to get almost 1300 for it before. Was one of those items that I used to just turn in for pts since its not bard equipable. This has in effect driven down the price for it in bazaar on 7th hammer and now it sells for 300p average price. I always see like 10-12 for sale at a time whereas before when the tribute was higher, there were 6 for sale.
Simple economics:
1. Sony wants to get pp off of servers so they introduce tribute masters.
2. PPL turn in all sorts of junk and rack up hundreds of thousands of pts.
3. Sony doesnt want the junk and decides to wipe all ppl's points out sayin it was a mistake.
4. ppl find this book and other junk in bazaar, buy it, and turn it in for pts. In effect, clearing out the bazaar of this and many higher pt items
5. Sony finds out that ppl are not spending enuf PP and are using stuff from bazaar to get pts and decides to nerf the pts on most all items.
6. ppl stop thinning down the stuff in bazaar and the junk starts piling up and brings prices down again.

How many ppl do you see still carrying around the Spirit Tome from Kaesora? It used to be worth almost nothing but now goes for around 100p SOLELY because it has a tribute of 197 pts.

EDIT: oh I forgot to mention it drops in the lvl 65 Normal lvl dungeons, I've seen it several times. The "level to attain: 60" is only true if you're in a group where the average level is 62.6 or higher and then you choose the normal adventure or if your grp is average lvl 57.6 to 62.4 and you choose hard setting.

I'm proud to own one of these on Drinal, and I picked one up for a mere 200pp. Seems to be quite the deviant in price though, I think whoever sold it forgot a 0 :) The rest in the bazaar are going for about 2k-2.3k

This is now a Type 7 augment slot.

meleeing clerics roxxor... but most casting classes shouldn't be melee'ing even if u have c3+ on cause medding is still +mana regen

One redeeming feature of this item, is that unlike all those "other affordable weapons", it has a slot type 1, instead of a slot type 4 (that weapons have). This could make it easier to augment and depending on the augment could end up making a very nice item. This will simply give you the ability to use other augments in the PRI slot. Is that goning to make it worth it? Depends on the augment used.
