When does this work?
# Jul 21 2004 at 12:20 PM Rating: Excellent
I bought this in bazaar for my 49 Magician alt and it never seems to trigger the improved damage from what I've seen. My mana pres II item gives me a msg when I cast an appropriate spell that it saved me some mana, but I never see a message when I cast the DD spells at mobs. I am thinking that the Improved Dmg IV doesnt kick in until around lvl 60 since that is what it says on the description.
Can anybody confirm the same results or the lvl 60 limit on the Improved Damage IV ?

Effect level requirement
# Dec 31 2003 at 6:51 AM Rating: Decent
There is no required level for the effect to work. I assume this is true of all focus effects.

Yesterday there were 2 of these for sale in the bazaar. 11kpp and 10kpp. Terris Thule server.

I'd love to be able to switch out my summoned dmg bracer for something with better stats ::glances at her embarassing resist stats::. The specific foci is a bigger boost, true, but I just don't know that I'll ever be in a position to obtain something with those effects.
Inflated Prices?
# Nov 05 2003 at 3:56 AM Rating: Default
I think the only reason the ave. price is high-
Chars. on Xev have them at 35-40k--and I even think some are sold!!! Should there be a price cap on items??-wish I there was a solution for the greed on Xev.
RE: Inflated Prices?
# Feb 21 2004 at 5:22 PM Rating: Decent
I bought mine for 10K on Xev. Like some stuff you buy is baz, patience is important. Just wait for what you want and buy it at the price that easy reasonable. I sometimes try and contact vendors who will often offer discounts of 20% or more just to sell something. You just have to keep checking back. This usually takes a week or two to get what I want but I have saved a lot of money over time.

Dusty off slot
# Oct 04 2003 at 5:26 AM Rating: Decent
This item is perfect for a Mage as we can use the improved damage effect to free up our wrist slot (currently filled with the +20 summoned DD damage bracer)for a higher INT/Mana or resist item.
Prices dropping like a Rock

On Vazaelle the first week after LDON, these things were in bazaar for about 25k. I saw my first one below 10k last night, with 5 on the market. Give it a couple of weeks and they will be 5k ish.
kinda rare
# Sep 21 2003 at 1:12 PM Rating: Decent
I've done Takish at least 15 times and this dropped once and a warrior won the roll. I keep doing Takish in hopes of it dropping again and I call nbg from now on when I make groups.
RE: kinda rare
# Nov 18 2003 at 10:11 PM Rating: Decent
i understand and that sucks, but did you let your group know beforehand that you were looking for a specific item, most people would like you have it, if you agreed not to roll for anything else that drops. Although nbg system usally doesn't work, because you never really know who needs it unless your in a guild. I suggest you ask guild members to come along if you are in it. If your not in a guild i suggest joining one, that is what they are there for.

RE: kinda rare

why not let the warrior roll? at that lvl most have alts and have just as much of a need. just cuz a caster gets it coz of nbg doesn't mean he's going to keep it and use it. nothing stops him from selling it or twinking an alt. everyone should get a chance at everything in the grp.

i was in an adv that they tried to do nbg i was a war in that one. toward the end of the adv we got a nice piece of gear but decided to roll after. the piece was for all i believe. well after we finnished the guys said to meet him and theones that wanted to roll for it could. a friend of mine that was on the adv wanted to roll and went to the guy and waited and waited findally the guy told him he was keeping the item and giving it to an alt. needless to say my friend was upset and so was i cuz it was an "all" item.

anyhow in an adv everying should roll i did just as much fighting as any of the others and i have alts like 99% of everyone else.

i feel its more fair that way.
if you need soemthing go to your guild they're suposed to help you.

again there's nothing preventing the caster from passing on or selling the item like the guy did in our grp. same with melee, any gear should be rolled on by all.

really it doesnt matter if you do NBG or GNB in a group....it IS a good idea to agree BEFORE you start which it is to be......

I suppose +8 CHA is nice for a chanter, but otherwise those stats are nothing to get excited about for a 60+ player. As well, ID 4 is only 20% spell damage boost, compared to the type-specific foci (Fury of Druzzil, E'ci, and Ro) that provide a 30% spell damage boost.

It's not an awful item, I wouldn't mind if it dropped for me. :) But I'm not sure I could see spending 25k on it (current price on Mith Marr), much less 45-55k.

I have a 65 druid on Mithaniel Marr server and I bought this item for 6k in bazaar. That is of course low end on the pricing range but I have NEVER seen this item for over around 12k or so. I can't imagine anyone in their right mine spending 50k or anywhere close to it for this belt. Also by the way, I wear this belt on my 65 druid. The charisma is nice and with some type of good wisdom augment, this is a great belt until something better comes along. The 2k nukes are nice, and that's without a critical blast.

On the price though, I couldn't imagine this item being over 15k on ANY server. 50k? C'mon, do you even play EQ or do you just make posts on here for the fun of it? :-p

yeah you are right, the fury line of effects trumps this, if u have all three, but those effects are for time and elemental enabled guilds. and i know i sure as hell wont be time/ele enabled for quite a while. this item rocks, its a great alternative to the 100k average incense burner of Ro. yes the int and mana stats kinda suck, but the ID4 more than makes up for it in my opinion.
RE: Hmm
# Sep 26 2003 at 10:32 AM Rating: Good
Those effects you mention are 25% and all of them are specific to either cold, fire or magic. This like Fury of Solusek works with all of our DD's. I got this 2 days ago in Takish and like all loot in ldon dungeons it can drop off any mini named that is up. Unless you have the raid points to bid and win and in a guild that takes down TZ then i would ssay this is a wizzies best friend.

Theme Wide Loot Table

Unlike previous expansions, a named mob shares the loot table with all named mobs in the theme. It doesn't matter which named mob you kill in this theme, it has the same chance of dropping this as any other named mob.

Any Named Mob

Mine dropped from a different named bug. I'm sorry. I can't remember the name exactly. However, my guess is that it could drop from any of the named mobs in this dungeon. And by the way... I was ecstatic to get this. When it dropped and I saw it had ID4 on it, I was sure that when I looked at the class list, wizards would not be on it. ;-)

Actually dropped off of a named rock golem, "Raving Stone Thrower" conned dark blue to 65, and hit for max 600 I believe. Mob was easily slowable. We had a group of 5, lvl 65 cleric, enchanter, paladin, druid and lvl 63 necro.

We also got one off the Raving Stone Thrower. We ended up going back for the named mobs after we killed our boss mob... our mage got this belt and another named dropped a belt for our enchanter. ;)

Group makeup was 65 druid, paladin, enchanter, magician, warrior, and necro. The Raving Stone Thrower was easy, and he went down in about 30 seconds.
