A few things i have seen as I have looked for bilge.

spawn from kill to pop on bilge type wandering mob here is 1.5 min. Have seen bilge and other named spawn point ... near kedge under the water... on bottom actually. and in the water just down from the gobliin camp.

i followed a 1.5 min pop after killing jetsam... spawned near kedge... went south to the shore... then traveled east to west then west to east... passing orc camp... crossing south side of island... crossing north side of island... back and forth a couple times.. to stopping finally by the column between fab four and exit... then he turned and headed the other way for about 6 steps ... stopped again then made b-line for fab four... now if i were to put a random spawn... I would make things head for death if this was a place holder... and it is what he did... all his other stops to start were nearly across zone... except for when he stopped ... and headed straight for fab four.

So, if you luck into getting a named place holder... follow the spawn yousee on track 1.5 min later... will prob be around kedge area. and keep him dead. every 1.5min.

Might work.

Got my pkt this morning. Seems the place holder likes to stand on top of the hill sometimes too. gated in to hill with rogue merchant.. immediately attacked by skelly... 1.5 min after his death... bilge popped between me and the goblin camp.

gl... hope this helps... but main info here... is the 1.5 min spawn on wandering mobs. and all may depop after a bit... have seen the rogue merchant depop for no reason as well...

This guy is on the same type of spawn as Pyjzn in the Qeynos Hills zone. Rare spawn but works like this: There is no REAL PH's for him, he works on a rarity timer every spawn in the DC water in a certain area (not the whole zone) when it repops there is like a 2% chance it will be the named. so the more ya kill the better chance. the only thing is I'm not familiar with the area he has been known to spawn but most likey if near the camp then safe to bet to kill all the other spawn around it and in the water. cause if he is like Pyjzn, then you are wasting you time if you are killing camp pops and gobbies on the other side where he will never spawn. Once again like Pyjzn you must kill all the spwan near surefall between the ruins and the small lake. killing gnolls and such is a waste of time. also by killing these mobs you reduce the respawn timer to 6 minutes from 30.

Hope that helps and good luck

As a 46 druid, I found Bilge on track, Sunday 12/22/02 about 1am under the water on the north side of the island on Lanys T'vyl. Pulled him up on shore with Stinging Swarm, Rooted, Immolated and then hid behind a rock. He shot his arrows, cast Malise and some DD spells. I stuck my head out after a minute or so and DD'd him with Calefaction which dropped him.
I was pretty excited to get the belt but he didn't have it. He had the PKT. After some copious jubilation I calmed down and I think I'll head to the bazaar.
I drop into DC every chance I get to look for Bilge and he is very, very rarely up. This is the first time I have seen him that I could kill him. I also have cleared the zone of gobs and never had him spawn. Hope this helps.

Ok I don't care what anybody says the PH are not the Aqua Goblin Shamans. On the several occasions I've tried for this Item I've kept the zone vertually Shaman free for more then 4 hours and he never spawns . So if there is a place holder its not the Shaman.

My 47 Bard, Syreen, on Xegony was doing a totemic quest to twink my 20 Shaman, Naomy, before she realized she could buy the stuff in the Bazaar for less than it cost to do the quest. So, I'm splashing about tracking and whacking Tidal Lords for the Cauldron shell. After about 8 of them, I get my shell, I'm about to leave and I notice some named mob, Bilge Farfathom on track... I figure it must be a gobby, so I track him under the water awhile. I found him under water, near the surface by the Aqua Gob camp. He took longer than I expected to kill, either he was healing himself, or a nearby shaman gob was healing him... hard to tell under water, but he was no match for a 47 Bard. He drops this Pearl Kedge Totem, and I'm thinking, "Wow! My 36 Druid, Botanni, will love this little dolly!" So, I leave the zone with a happy bonus.

The very next day, I'm working on my Bard epic, I drop a note off to Marfen in Sol-A, and he gives me a doll for Serra in Unrest. As I'm leaving Unrest to pass back through Dagnor's, I decide to check tracking for Bilge, or any other named gobs. No Bilge, but then I see some mob on track named "Squallslither." Sounds gobby-ish, so I start tracking it, put on the SS Gaunts, and dive in the water. Turns out its a snake, and it was right next to me when I started tracking, went in the water just moments before I did, and its in melee range. I DoT it once with Chant of Frost, slow it with Selo's Consonant Chain, and maybe got off one melee hit on it before it folds up like an old card table. It drops a Serpent Blood Potion. I had no idea what it was, but looked it up and I'm thinking, "Wow, this will really come in handy on one of these epic mobs!" Then I read all your posts, and I'm chuckling; on two consecutive days I apparently got the best two drops in the zone and I wasn't even looking for them, or even aware that there was anything worth hunting for in Dagnor's. I figure its just good karma, or maybe dumb luck. But both of these mobs I found in the water near the Unrest entrance, so for what its worth, maybe that's the place to look for them.

Good luck getting one of these. I've talked to several people on Brell who have camped Bilge for MONTHS and never seen him spawn, much less drop the totem. Great item if you can endure many long, boring hours (days, weeks, months) killing greenies in DC. :/

Secondary Melee means it goes in your secondary melee slot, not that it can go in primary or secondary melee.

Hehe item looks awesome to me, and noone could complain about the price. My question is.... uhh.... which slot does it go in? I'd have to guess it's Primary Secondary or Range.... but i can't say which. Thinking of campin it, if i can, when my necro is higher (he's 41 right now i'd probly wait till 49 for good pet and such). I'd have a Ranger from guild track from a good central place in the zone while i slaughtered everything (hehe actually my pet would be doing the slaughtering). Seems like he's not timed, possibly has placeholder based on posts above. Best idea sounds like kill every darn thing in the zone till the sucker pops. BTW, is he often being watched for by many players, or would i probly be the only one there looking for him if i went?

Secondary slot item only. It's an excellent replacement for ToV if you had one. Graphic is a Dolly. Same Dolly as the Paw of Opolla. A very nice item with the + 18 Wisdom stats.

I was on my way to unrest to power-level a friend, when I happened to click on track. To my surprise Bilge was up...i ran after him, and saw the totem in his hand. I was so hyped when he dropped it. He has around or less than 1000 hit points because my breath of ro (950pt DoT) and one root spell (160dd and root) took him down before the end of the DoT.

Hi everyone. I started to camp this guy 3 days ago, binded in front of Unrest. And just checked on him as often as i could. I got home from work, got on, boom he was on my track, so happy i was. Chased him down, and he was rather extremely easy as a 47 druid. He only dropped the belt, which i needed, a great upgrade with 6ac 5wis 10hp. Hope he drops the belt.

On his rarity....in my opinion it's luck. Once i found out about this item, I tried to get it but soon found that he is NEVER there and almost went insane waiting for him. So then I just made a point to stop in DC and check on Bilge every time i was passing through Butcherblock. I started that when I was around level 30 or so. Today I am level 52 and have pretty much given up on it. Plus i rarely go back to BB for anything. But what really gets me going is that a guildy just got it tonite. I couldnt believe it....Guess it's all just luck though.....i hope yours is better than mine.

I couldn't log the price for some reason up there, computer maybe on my end, but anyhoo...saw one auctioned today for 10k in EC. I jumped on it and offered the seller roughly 10-11k in trades. He took it and I know have two, count em two dolls to play with. ) This has been a pricing report from your friendly druid on 7th Hammer.
RE: Pricing

You don't have 2...count em 2 on the same char, cuz they are lore, and secondary only...unless you know a way to have 2 lore items, and put them both in your secondary slot at the same time. (O.o)

This item is simply awesome. I can't believe I actually saw one being auctioned.

First off, anything from kedge is instantly cool. Secondly, the +wis on this thing is divine! There are only 7 other items listed on allakhazam with higher +wis stats.

The strength hit is nothing. Having all that wisdom in one slot is much more of an advantage to the minor strength hit. Just think, with this and some (comparatively inexpensive) jewelry / crafted items (i.e. 2x velium jasper rings, 1x velium ruby veil, 1x idol of <your diety>) you can get +43 wis, -1 str with only using 3 (count 'em 3!) armor slots, two of those slots being rings! That gives you plenty of slots left over to bring your wis up to 200 and still have very high ac and other stat boosts.

At the moment I am using a Springwood Club and a Cracked Darkwood Sheild. I am about to do the paw of opulla quest and become a non-melee druid. As soon as I hit lvl 30 I am going to camp this dude 24 7, as his drops are awesome. I see the PKT going for like 12kpp in EC all the time, needless to say that I don't have 12k (If only I did =P ). I am still gonna keep my Club and Sheild though, for those anoyying bloody Griffennes who always seem to get down to no health but are still alive (very small amout I suppose). I suggest that all wisdom casters when they reach or are near lvl 30 that u should camp this (and pick up his belt too). As previous posts suggest the benefit of 18wisdom easily outweighs the anoyyance of losing 9 str as there are plenty of thigs that can comprimise (velium ruby veil [which is 8str 8wis]for example) and with the paw of opolla in your primary slot, all up u will get 9ac 5sta 9agi 27wis -5chr -9str -5svdisease 5mana. If you were to ask me I would say that this is SUPER SWEET.

You mentioned becoming a non-melee druid once you hit 30... I am currently a level 32 wood elf druid with 197 wisdom. Here's what I have for equipment:
Gold jasper earings +3 wis(x2), Warden Symbol of Tunare +3wis +10 mana(quested), velium ruby veil +8wis, Runed Circlet +4 wis, 2 +6 wis rings, chipped bone bracers +5 wis (x2), platnum armband +4 wis(?), splitpaw hide gloves +3 wis(?), braided ivy cords +5 wis, foreman's tunic +3 wis, kunzar cloak +2 wis, gatorscale leggings +4 wis, reinforced boots, springwood club +5 wis, testament of vanear +10 wis, small wisdom deity +2 wis.

I know that doesnt add up to 197 (if you add base wis of 115) but its pretty close (I probably messed up some numbers). I also have ac that is near 600, and if I were to save up some money and get a shroud of nature (6 wis I think) I would have 200 wis.

Notice, though, I would need ALL my slots to get this 200 wis. Someone told me once that after a while you will end up having a few of items that have a high +wis/int on them, with the rest being resists, mana, and other stats... Anyways, I hope this gives someone some ideas for possible new equipment, a lot of the items I wear would be able to be camped for instead of purchased (I spent at most 2kpp on all that equipment, jewelry included). Also, the AC camp in upper guk is some nice cash and fairly easy, not to mention good xp every now and then if the level is right. But, thats enough rambling for one post.

Good luck to you all!

Shammys are really only ones who can afford to use it, but yet camping it would suck for them. Whereas druids can track em down and clerics can zone into unrest and make constant cash from rezes.... Anyway, For druids and clerics, (both of which should be MADE of money at high lvls) Pick up a velium vail dealy, plus 7 wisdom plus 7 strength! Cancels out pearl kedge rather nicely (Unless I am missing someting really big here..)
So the pearl kedge removes your meleeing, and subtracts two from your strength.. THATS WHAT STRENGTH buffs are made for! Whoo I am gonna camp him once I am around 40 and can drop him easy

Actually if you get a plat ruby vail, thats 7/7, not sure on the velium one but the plat will be cheaper.

#Anonymous, Posted: May 10 2001 at 11:44 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) It's easy to look at this item and think "wow! 18wis!", but unless you really messed up bad allocating stat points when you made your char, 200 wis doesn't require this item. Since every point over 200 is worthless (it only equals one point of mana), this has to be viewed in terms of how it frees up other slots for stat increases.

I have a lvl 21 druid and i have found that druids aent the best melee class in the world, so i am going to get rid of her melee and go with straight spell casting, and yes it is true that any points in wisdom over 200 only adds 1 point to mana, but 18 wis is alot of wisdom, which frees up 1 or maybe even 2 slots for me to put MANA, or HP items in.

Hey bigga...you can put in primary slot so you don`t lose the freakin stats O da sarnak shield.Ohhhh you will not be able to melee...how sad, LET THE TANKS DO IT )
#Anonymous, Posted: May 23 2001 at 7:31 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Yeah, but a paw of opolla is either hand. Thus your decision is:

What you say is true, but at higher lvls you can always get better items, and if you are smart you should always try to keep all your main skills maxed out, i.e, fighting skills, but this can be done at anytime you cant find a group, or when you are in a really good group, there is really no reason not to try to get this item, 18 wisdom is alot of wisdom, and the str well that can be dealt with by str buffs.

Or even better get your guild blacksmith to make you(or pay through the teeth for)a couple pieces of embued plate armor. Many dieties pieces have + strength, and + wis.

Probably too low in level - fought Bilge twice (very lucky me ) once at 36th, when I did definietly needed the paladin I was grouped with, and one at 41st, when he was ok to fight without much stress.
There usually are two probs with him a) he is a 35th shamie, sowed and casts nasty poison dots, and b) he swims like hell, and in the time you will need to get into casting range and aggro him on you (so he will not just keep on running ), you will likely have attracted some more aqua goblins or undertow sekeletons (both highly aggro), making it a nasty fight, whatever the respective levels. BTW, he dropped the reed belt both times...:(
Bilge

Unless Verant has changed his spawn rate since the last time I tried camping him..it was 4 hours. However, Dwigus tends to pop more often than Bilge does. The best place I've seen to catch either one is to go sit on the island facing the Unrest Entrace..near that dwarf. Good luck..and may Tunare bless you with patience..you're gonna need it.

I spent 9 hours camping the whole zone for this guy...if anybody knows when a where he spawns i would greatly appreciate it:) Also, is there any proof of a placeholder? if so...who is it and what level is he?

thank you:)
#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 28 2001 at 1:22 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This guy popped twice in an hour for me.. got totem the first time and the belt the second time
Bilge
# Apr 26 2001 at 1:20 AM Rating: Default
I killed Bilge twice within 48hrs on Drinal last week. He dropped the Totem the first time and the belt the second time. Dwigus Lowater did not seem to make him spawn though I did kill him everytime he was up in the zone. Both times I saw Bilge, he was by the Unrest zone so I would focus your looking around there. Good luck all!

To who ever posted that this doesnt drop anymore, please know what you're talking about before you post. I killed bilge last night and he had a pearl kedge totem on him then. You are talking about Dwigus lowater, gobby that aslo spawned and i killed, he drops the ingot for the cleric or pally bp , i cant remember which.

It's the cleric bp I believe.
#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 22 2001 at 7:42 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) the new thing that the boys at verant did was decided to get rid of this item. They decided it was too good. so they replaced him with the gob thta drops the ignot of the constant for the cleric gold armor bp.
