Since this picture was taken, the Barbarian Shaman armour has been fixed. They took out the STA and put it in WIS instead. Now, a full set of this will give you an extra 12 or 13 WIS instead. Still has STR and HP, but I can't remember if they've changed the numbers.
Still, even if it had no WIS, it's still worth doing. It's free armour after all. Any AC and stats are better than none...

While I was doing the newbie quests, the day they came out, I was comparing notes with some other quest-doers.

The warrior armour has the EXACT same stats as all this shaman gear. I figure it's a bugged stat table.

I've sent in a couple feedbacks, bug reports and petitions. Hopefully they'll fix it soon. Every other newbie wis or int-caster gets wis or int and mana.

Edit: Not to mention Shammies are a chain class, and all the newbie quest armour adheres to the armour type of the class (for those who will reply "My shaman has something that looks like plate")

These items have now been updated with modified stats. However, they are still plate, where shaman is a chain class. In any case, I will send updated stats and pics soon.

Note though that all the shaman armor sets look like plate(ie Totemic and Jaundiced)
Easy

These quests are too easy actually. Every item is cake walk to get. 99% of them can be purchased at a vendor most of the time.
Poor

K I am a long time Shaman Fan especcially Barb Shaman. I have been waiting and anticipating these newbie armors for us barb shammies only to be seriously disapointed. Unlike the elf, Halflings, gnomes and Human and a few of the older newbie quest races this is **** poor. It almost looks to me like Sony said well since all the other races have armor lets put these last few armors out really quick. It seems like this armor was kind of not thought for while it has Sta which is good for a shaman there is no wis. on any of the armor peices. I was kind of disapointed about that.
I think Sony should have waited and taken time to really look at these armors compared to other armors of equivalince like the clerics, and Druid newbie armors

But this is just my 2 cp

"when death greets you do not step back but charge forward for you are entering a new realm of possibilites."

This breastplate has more ac then the other newbie armor quests, with a bit of hp tossed in. A nice item for any low level shaman, even if it doesn't have wisdom.

But, I do agree with you in that the armor seemed rushed - it has the exact same stats as the Ogre warrior set. Either Sony is trying to buff up the melee skills of the average low level shaman, or it was an error.

Looks like MidnightSunshine is on the right path-- possible goal of the armor is to make up for perceived shortcomings of the race. For the Barbarians, they are going for more HP. The Ogre Shaman newbie breastplate is 12 AC, +3 Wisdom, +7 Hit Points and +7 Mana, so they are going for Wisdom/Mana. (On a side note, the Ogre BP seems to act as a light source. Hmmm. Ogres see in the dark OK and they give us a light source?)

No, Brannadar has it right. They put the Barb War armor stats on the Shammy armor, even gave it the Graphic look of the War armor (plate-vs-chain that Shammies wear). It's a mistake, but Sony won't fix it. So I'll just wear this til I get Wis gear. The HP and Sta do help, and the extra 2 AC (the Large race Shammy Armor has 12, War has 14) is cool to.

Not just that, though...Not one thing in the whole Barb shammy quest is no drop...If you spent the time and plat, you could buy everything to make this armor...WAAAY to easy...My new shaman is level 5 and has already completed the quest with the exception of the final task, and I'm "on" that one!
