Thermal Cloak  

 

Unfortunately, this item basically has little to no selling power, as the Cloak of the Ice Bear is an extremely inexpensive All/All back item that gives 2 more AC, same cold resist, and +10 hit points... only reason a class would take this over that is because of the weight (this weighs 0.70 while CotIB weighs 3.50)... though Gnomes do start with low strength, so this might not be a bad idea for pure casters trying to stay below the weight limit with all those backpacks weighing them down ;)

My question would be, exactly how does one get the tattered cloak? (The only part of this recipe that can't be purchased from merchants selling most tinkering supplies.) I have read on a tinkering site that it is found in Sol.A on clockworks and gnomes, but I was hoping it could be purchased. It kind of dosen't make "EQ sense" that a gnome tinkered device would require you to either kill gnome and/or clockworks to get componants. Although stranger things have happened.

This item would be really nice for raids involving cold based magic using creatures (obviously), 20 cold on a back item would be really helpful to throw in the bank for a rainy day, even more so when you have to deal with getting more than one resistance above 100 unbuffed.

Any tinkers that have found an easy way to aquire this item please give a post. I may just try to /shout in Sol.A and see if anyone has looted one, if I have any sucess I'll be sure to update.

Edit: Upon further board searching, looks like this drops off of a few mobs in Sol.A, including the Goblin Bartender. Also read it does drop off of clockworks. Off to find out for myself.
