neck?
# Oct 31 2005 at 9:34 PM Rating: Decent
yeah I dont know when this changed, but I have this thing on my neck, and it is labeled as a neck / waist. Which I find pretty odd. I wouldnt want to put it around my neck personally, but apparently my toon dont care.

Should be labeled as raid drop.

This item is really a priest/hybrid piece. Yeah the saves and hps even mana, are nice for paladins and shadowknights, but a shaman cleric or druid could benefit from it so much more.

Er it seems to me that this *is* a priest/hybrid piece. There are no pure casters or melee listed as usable classes. I assume you mean that this is really a priest piece, which I couldn't disagree more with. Hybrids would get a huge boost from this. WIS/INT is very useful for hybrids, since they typically have much less of that stat than their parent caster class. The HP/mana are extremely useful, the saves kick butt (disease/poison being particularly hard to raise), and the FT is a great touch for those hybrids that don't get a lot of med time.

People like you are funny.

I don't get why the wis/int on this was even listed as a reason it should goto hybrids.

WTF gratz an extra 50 mana ....

why do ppl focus so much on mana totals ... its all about mana regen.

In 100 fights this item (sans the flowing thought) will increase your overall dps as hybrid by .000000000000001. Because lets say this item gives you 2k mana. After you spend all your mana your going to have to med it back. And it takes 2k mana total longer to med it back so more downtime. So what if you were able to cast one extra spell per mob for 20 mobs, after that its either the same as w/o the 2k mana or more downtime to get it back. And in a long grind or raid its meaningless.

FT on the other hand is what rules. not the +wis/int

Your argument should be more along the lines of ... Hybrids are always in the mix and dont get to med at all so the FT is extremly helpful, while the priest classes get to med more...

now thats not a good argument but its the only one.

Maybe that shaman should not get this since they have rediculous mana regen from mass canni that this FT3 is so minute its wasted.

Its only all about mana regen, if all you do is grind one group content. Quite frankly, when on a raid, my mana regen only has a trivial effect on whether I run OOM or not. We have plenty of time between mobs to med back up. What makes all the difference in the world, is that I have a large enough mana pool to chain cast heals until the mob dies.

So, as you see, its really all a matter of perspective. For your style of play, mana regen matters more, because it reduces downtime between mobs. For my style of play, mana POOL matters more, because I use mana a LOT faster than I can regen it, when healing a raid tank.

kk in a raid situation where u have plenty of time imbetween mobs to med ...

If running out of mana is a problem during these then wouldnt mana regen during the encounter give u extra heals etc?

lets say spam healing u can go for 4 minutes ... 4 minutes of mana regen time ... there is a reason necros last so long in fights ... and its not cause their mana pool is bigger

Agreed. Especially with the agi on it, I would love this for my beastlord. In addition to needing the wis for mana and fizzling, I'm big on tradeskills, so every bit of wis counts. Give the hybrids a chance =D

Yeah, like bards. I would love this item for my bard, all in all it is just amazing from a bardic stand point.

From a RP perspective... would you really want to wear a noose around your neck? I mean, don't give the mobs any ideas ;)

Bards are int casters.
RE: ???
# Jul 02 2003 at 11:29 AM Rating: Default
Bards are generally grouped under melee, not casters (for example, Bards can also wear plate, int casters can't)

Vellious armor, bards are listed under Melee Classes, not under int classes.

Shadow Knights are INT casters...
Just so ya know, this is SHD equippable. Just overlooked by Allak for some odd reason. Probably not meant for PURE casters though. Since seemably only healers and hybrids are listed. And just so ya know...Bards are not just INT casters, but they DO need this. FT items are basically the only thing that will help them regen mana.

Oh and the other thing...Clerics are a plate class, although their mana pool is based from Wisdom they are still a pure caster group.

May as well not have paladin on it anyways. Like a pally will get this before all the clerics and shammies have got 1 lol.
Anyways very nice item for them he he.
wis
# Jun 03 2003 at 7:56 PM Rating: Decent
has bard on it, now i dont play one, but i think they run on int.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 04 2003 at 8:39 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) nope bards run on wis im sure because we heal so that makes us wis i think. And it used to have wis highlighted on char creation screen, dont know if it still does. And one last thing prima guide says Bards use wis soI think Bards still use wis for mana though. But hey I could be wrong?

No, it's not a WIS caster thing, since bard mana pool is derived from INT. Not sure what the relationship here is, perhaps it's a mistake. But I'm happy for it. FT for Bards doesn't grow on trees afterall.

You're right it does seem odd that SKs are excluded from this belt. I feel bad for ya but that won't keep me from jumping all over this belt for my beastlord!
